The scriptwriters said that their relationship was what kept the series alive that they did not expect the output of Lisa Enderstein at all but in the end I think I miss it, I miss it and it sucks but I do not think it's Lisa's fault
I watched all of House over the course of two months, so I definitely noticed the show's progression more and more into darkness. House became more damaged and broken as the seasons went on. I thought season 8 definitely felt darker than it would have with Cuddy. I thought the last few episodes were beautiful, though. You really got a sense that Wilson was all House had left and couldn't live with the fact that he'd be losing his best friend. It was shockingly believable and really tugged at your heart seeing the last scenes unfold.
I prefer to believe season 8 didn't exist. It jumped the shark, some parts of the season were totally nonsense, such as Park on acid "seeing a leprechaun" and the absolutely terrible first person CGI they would have been better off not including. In fact, her whole character was terrible.
Thats sweet. I missed her too, i skipped whole 8th season reading only plots "when is she comming back" and since she never did i jumped to the last episode and the show ended.
I purposely refused to skip to the end, because I wanted it to be a surprise (whether she came back or not). With each episode, I was tempted to search if she ever came back. I'm kinda stunned that she didn't and the narrative out there (that there was a pay cut and she refused to take it) doesn't make sense. There was less of a budget, but somehow they found the money to hire two new cast members? I find it stunning, quite frankly, that with the two of them having such strong chemistry that she'd just go away and not even come back for a final episode.
Why? Just for a feel good inclusive happy ending? There is no realistic situation where someone like Cuddy would attend the funeral of the person who tried to do grevious harm to her and those around her. Cuddy was done at the end of season 7. Season 8 was already creative suicide, no need to drag her character down with it.
It's sad that she wasn't paid what she asked for despite other leads being paid more than her! This show's producers treated her horribly throughout this
She wasn't really a lead. All of the characters other than House were really supporting roles. I guess she should have realised that the title character is the only one who they really had to pay to keep. All the others could be replaced (and effectively were as the series progressed albeit they kept minor roles giving them brief appearances - and, of course, one of them was the obvious replacement for Cuddy) - it wasn't like Friends where you had 6 people with an equal billing who could negotiate together.
@@michael1 Laurie was the only irreplaceable person on the show, but it was still a total fuck-up by greedy producers. They did what has happened to so many shows, diminished the quality by dragging out a show to squeeze money out of it when it had clearly come to its natural end. House went from a cynic to someone capable of potential MURDER in a jealous rage? Wtf? The show was already jumping the shark before that because Lisa was leaving and the writers needed to force an ending to their relationship, but this was when it flew right over the shark. Season 8 felt like a different show. Sure, Laurie was the main character, but the turnover of most of the cast made it feel unfamiliar. Who are these people? It also felt like in order to justify another season, they destroyed House's evolution as a character until the last few episodes, and used the "people don't change" theme of earlier seasons as an after the fact justification, when they had clearly intended to show House changing for the better with Cuddy. And we're left knowing Wilson will die, leaving House completely alone and without his source of Vicodin anymore. So knowing his tendencies, he'll probably kill himself. Great.

She deserved a raise because, without her, "House MD" wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining. It made me want to see some of her earlier work and folks, let me tell you, EVERYTHING she did up to "House MD" was just as quirky and funny and fascinating as you might expect. Oh, that smile. Oh gosh, the way she moves and the smooth realness of the way she does her dialogue. Yes, it was a loss when she had to move on. The show suffered as a result and then finally ended on kind of a down note. But Lisa Edelstein is still providing some fine, fine entertainment. I hope she wins an Emmy, soon, because she sure deserves it.

Even if she was to leave the show, I would have brought her back for just one episode and paid her a large amount for it. Just one single episode that would have had Cuddy and House finally have a talk and find some kind of closure. Have her be angry and frustrated, just something that is better than her disappearing and only being referenced a couple of times with no answer to what happened to her afterwards. I know. Finding out he really doesn't talk like that was a huge upset. But it makes him a hell of an actor.
@Stanatithan I stopped watching it too. Saw one new episode and it sucked.
Then why did you come here, stupid bitch?
aww i miss lisa :'(
She left for money, so i can't be that sorry. All other actors also got their payment cut but only she left. nah
Oh you mean how Robert Sean Leonard refused to take the salary cut and threatened that he’ll leave the show but because Wilson was important they gave him what he wanted and how they asked the black guy and the woman to take it down but not the others who weren’t even that long with that show? Yeah. Shame on her.
@@britneysexyy yes that's another thing I found out shortly after my comment
it changes nothing towards her directly but leaves a sour taste about some of the others
