Night In The Woods is the gated game of all time.
In the 4 months you’ve been gone, I joined a band, I learned guitar, and found friends that helped me find myself.

playing night in the woods for the first time was genuinely the single biggest turning point in my life. "love" doesnt even begin to describe how i feel about it. that shit is my GOSPEL
Night in the woods is ridiculous of how good it was
dude the way you talked about night in the woods made me tear up, it is genuinely one of the best video games I’ve played ever. there is no other game that has felt so personal to me and like it spoke directly to me and my experiences. (and funnily enough, your and everyone else’s experiences too)

"I want it to hurt" are words to live by. To stare the void of meaninglessness in the face and refuse to give into apathetic detachment, it's so powerful. God I love Night in the Woods.
Night in the Woods and Disco Elysium are my two favorite games of all time, and see those games in the thumbnail inmediatly made me think "these guy is kinda literally me"
I love Night in the Woods SO MUCH! So beautiful in how it conveys the story. Same with Life is Strange- such a ambient and soulful game!

It's crazy how NITW was my introduction to Raccoon Tour, via Nightmare Eyes. Now, here I am, two years later, with the same favorite game and the same appreciation for your music. I watched playthroughs of Inscryption and Night in the Woods instead of playing them (which was probably a mistake), and they both seem amazing, so I'm glad to see them here. As for Super Mario Galaxy, that was one of the first games I've ever played, and I absolutely love it. I never even noticed the point you made about how the first game isn't trying to be as constantly action packed as the second. I think you have finally made me realize the actual reason for me liking the first one just a little bit better than the second.

Disco Elysium is so incredible and I think the way you put it in which it is a mature game that requires older eyes to experience it is such a good way to put it.

Hey Nate, theres this amazing game that just recently came out called Until Then. It has a sorta gameplay loop like Night in the Woods, but i genuinely think its such a good experience
This is a great video. I haven’t played everything on this list, but I can say that I used to spend hours as a kid just hanging out in Rosalina’s Observatory and soaking in the vibes. It feels like home. And when I picked up Breath of the Wild I felt that same wonder and comfort and peace. (I would love to hear your thoughts on Totk, btw). I really need to dust off the copy of Night in the Woods that’s been sitting in my steam library for over a year and try it out, everything I’ve heard about it has been amazing. I just have to drag myself away from Stardew Valley for a bit lol

So happy to still see Night in The Woods getting love after all this time! That game was almost transformative for the time I had found it.

My love for Night in the Woods feels different from most. It didn't come at a really bad time in my life (kinda but i'll get to that later) and then swoop down to comfort me like it did for a lot of people. Instead, I was 10 years old. Not extremely appropriate for me as someone who had just hit grade 5 but hey we don't talk about that. I (my mum) bought it pretty much right after it came out, and I fell in love witht the characters and how much more human they felt than the other games I had been playing for most of my life (my most played game was Castle Crashers and the most complex game story-wise i had played was undertale, which had already felt real to a 10 year old.) and it was nice to experience. I ended up going with Gregg the entire time and enjoyed the highs and lows of the. Fast foward about 3 years and I'm in grade 8, a lot of shit is going on, mainly really figuring out that I only like girls, and processing that i tried to do a not so breathey when I was 8. This is when i replayed the game, but this time hanging out with Bea. Going the Bea route genuinely helped me with my romantic feelings (ironic considering the Gregg ending), and because I had matured much more, the themes of the game made more sense to me now. I ended up asking the girl out that I had a crush on and she said yes and we've been together since. I never really bothered telling my parents that i'm lesbian, they just never assumed even when I was a little kid so I just let it be.
I don't really enjoy this game because it helped me in my life though, it's purely just a fantastic game and my favourite of all time bar none.
I write all this to say I popped off so fucking hard when it was your number 1 dude,
I played Night in the Woods in the fall, in my sophomore year of college, with my partner. It was nothing short of one of the most meaningful experiences we've ever had together. Art in its purest form. We're getting matching tattoos from it soon.

Also, I knew before watching the video that Night In the Woods would be your number 1 because it fits your personality perfectly. Knew about it when it released, but played it recently myself and it's phenomenal. God I have to go play it again.

Super Mario Galaxy to me is my #1 favorite video game of all time. My father gave me a copy of the game for Christmas in 2011 when I was eight years old and when I started and played the game I was hooked instantly with the story, characters, settings, gameplay, and that killer SOUNDTRACK. God that sweet beautiful SOUNDTRACK is so f*cking amazing. Super Mario Galaxy is one of the most beautiful masterpieces I’ve ever played on the Wii. It’s a part of my childhood, it always will be. The game holds a special place in my heart, and I couldn’t thank my father enough for that :) ❤️

I know this a shot in the dark that probably won't be seen, but have you played Omori? If you haven't I would highly recommend it, as it is an amazing experience of a game. It has an amazing story and is one of the most heartfelt games out there. I fully recommend going in blind, however there is some pretty heavy topics within the game.

NitW is a great game also I recommend a small indie game called Wandersong it’s one of the few games that made me cry
