I first discovered your channel through the freshman year survival guide video, back when I was still in middle school. I've kept this channel in the back of my mind, and now I'm a senior in high school. Right now, I'm inundated with worries about my future and whether or not I should persue my dream of music and commit to it. This video is exactly what I needed right now.
Watching this video did something to me, a few months ago (and currently) I was at the lowest point of my life. I was suicidal and a bunch of other things. I'm not even joking just a few hours ago I was thinking to myself about how none of my goals were ever going to happen. I then saw this. This video gave me back the motivation to live life the best I can. If I don't make the most of the time I have I am going to regret it. There are so many things I wanted to accomplish in my life that I had just completely given up on (also Racoon Tour made me want to start my own band one day).
I hope that the suicidal thoughts got better dude, I really really hope so. To your point on accomplishing your goals: Yes. Yes, you can. You can reach them, you can overcome the obstacles that are in the way between you and what you want to accomplish. Yes there will be setbacks, yes there will be incredibly demotivating moments, but if you want to, if you are determined, you can do this!!! See, I applied to a music school in Vienna this June. I was anxious as fuck sending them the Videos, but the time I put in learning the songs necessary for the application was all worth it, I got accepted, I am currently in Vienna, moved into a city with two million citizens after living my whole Life i a 1.5k village, I'm anxious asf, but I can do it, and so can you. Put the time in, go for it. Time is limited. Let's not waste it. Go for it, dude. We all believe in you
I always dealt with existential dread when I was a kid and even throughout middle school. I could never explain my thoughts or feelings to my fam. So I always kept it in or just smoke constanly. I made a lot of mistakes during that time just because I couldn’t articulate or express my feelings. I’m still struggling with that a lil bit but I’ve been watching ur vids since I was in middle school and I just wanna say thanks for sharing ur story with us. Im only 18 now and I’ve been stressing lately about what to do. I feel u whenever u said u just did nothing all day;I’m stuck in that atm. But now I need to get myself together again. Ur story is relatable to me
also i just finished the video, how inspiring, i just turned 20 and i’m having some of the exact same fears and dread that you have had, used to be a christian, faith and beliefs changed around the same time to the same as yours, honestly we have a lot in common, and i just want to say your story is genuinely inspiring to me and i hope it will be to many others. we’re all people, we make mistakes, we think we’re on top of the world and it all crumbles around us, but we can always get back up we can always recover. i have so much more to say and more thoughts but genuinely thank you for making this video and sharing your story, hope to be seeing more from you and hearing more music soon! :)
This video was really moving, man. I'm currently in high school and feel like I've already messed up my life a lot. I don't have any real friends at my very small 'bad kids' school, I've never had a real job, I've only had terrible relationships, I can't drive and have no desire to learn how to, and I feel like I'll never amount to anything at this point. As a 17 yr old that's about to leave my entire life behind and move to another continent o my own it's really nice seeing someone like u also taking that risk and leaving. Thank you for making this video! I've been watching you ever since I found that freshman year video (I was looking up videos because I was going into freshman year). Your band recommendations videos helped me find my favorite band, PUP. It was so exciting when your album finally released, I heard Sofarinrunning and Sorry Sarah and got annoyed when I realized those were the only two songs you had out at the time. The album release concert was amazing and I was so excited to finally get to see one of my favorite creators in person. It's inspiring to see someone from my same small town create something as amazing as this channel and the dentonweaver. I hope this video gets the attention it deserves! It’s super inspiring hearing how someone is in a place that you wish to be in, even though I wouldn’t say it’s the greatest place but the fact you’re doing what you love and are passionate about is really motivating. I love that you and PJ are still best friends and I want to believe someday when I have a partner we will be best friends because it’s the most important thing in a relationship! A year ago me and my boyfriend of three years broke up and for a couple of months we tried staying friends because we were best friends before dating, but having feelings for someone while knowing it’s not gonna work is super hard so we just stopped talking.. I hate that I didn’t only lose my boyfriend but I lost my best friend. I actually believe people can still stay friends if the base of their relationship is concentrated on friendship but it’s hard.. I finished the army a month ago and I really hope life will get better, I started saving money to go on my own “tour” in Europe to see all of my favorite artists next summer and I started selling my art (while I don’t really make money, I do something I love that maybe one day will be an actual career) I’m also considering going to university next year and studying art/filmmaking, I truly believe we need to do something we love and live our life for the fullest because we only have one life and i rather not having money and doing something I truly enjoy then living in constant fear of dying and that thinking about how nothing matters and being suicidal with a 9 to 5 job (because I was at a really bad place 4 years ago in high school and I don’t want to feel like that ever again) because it is actually a waste of time living this way, of course it is not easy at all but you can do it, I really believe everyone can do whatever they want and love and it’s the most important thing you can do with your life, not living in the biggest house and having the best clothes but being happy with whatever you do and wherever your life take you Hope everyone is having a great day/week/month/year and I hope we can all achieve happiness.❤

hey nate, ive been a long time watcher for 4-5 years so when i was like 9-10 and now im a 15 year old sophomore in high school. there were so many things i could relate in this video to atheism, catholicism, starting a band, finding alternative music but the one i could relate to the most was about death. i know its a scary thing but its something as us humans all go through, i find beautiful in a way knowing that there will/was only one of me and that ive impacted peoples live for the better or worse. it's something ive came hard to accept but its just something we can't escape. either way i love your videos and music it also so great no matter what for of media i consume by you it has always made me smile. youre doing great and i would LOVE to see raccoon tour live i know you guys came to omaha but i was sick that day hopefully there's a 2nd chance.

That ending message right now was insanely Impactful after the whole video (I cried a bit tbh. Three tears or so, but still). But... let me say it like this: I just moved to Vienna, and... it sucks. I'm lonely, I miss my friends and pals, but I got accepted at a music school where I feel comfy asf, a dream come true basically, and if I don't make this, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. I play drums for16 years of my 20 year life, making this my job would be the best thing that could happen to me ever, I am determined, yes, but ofc there are doubts, there's a giant amount of anxiety, but honestly, this Video rn made me incredibly confident, that I'm gonna make the best of it, that I can do it. There was a time recently where I stopped wanting to do things bc I stopped seeing the point. I told myself that school was just work and that the only thing that it would lead me to was more work and that it didn't matter what I did (work or no work), I'd never be happy bc I'd never met an adult who was. This video isn't the reason I stopped feeling that way, but it helps me remain hopeful about life and what's coming. The fact that you don't sugarcoat or breeze through the bad times helps too. Also, the wanting to sleep for three months was very relatable lol. Definitely subscribing

Thank you for making this video! I've been watching you ever since I found that freshman year video (I was looking up videos because I was going into freshman year). Your band recommendations videos helped me find my favorite band, PUP. It was so exciting when your album finally released, I heard Sofarinrunning and Sorry Sarah and got annoyed when I realized those were the only two songs you had out at the time. The album release concert was amazing and I was so excited to finally get to see one of my favorite creators in person. It's inspiring to see someone from my same small town create something as amazing as this channel and the dentonweaver. Thanks to you I ended up getting a ukulele and now I'm trying to write my own songs with it. Thank you for the inspiration and motivation.

It’s super inspiring hearing how someone is in a place that you wish to be in, even though I wouldn’t say it’s the greatest place but the fact you’re doing what you love and are passionate about is really motivating.
I love that you and PJ are still best friends and I want to believe someday when I have a partner we will be best friends because it’s the most important thing in a relationship!
A year ago me and my boyfriend of three years broke up and for a couple of months we tried staying friends because we were best friends before dating, but having feelings for someone while knowing it’s not gonna work is super hard so we just stopped talking.. I hate that I didn’t only lose my boyfriend but I lost my best friend. I actually believe people can still stay friends if the base of their relationship is concentrated on friendship but it’s hard..
I finished the army a month ago and I really hope life will get better, I started saving money to go on my own “tour” in Europe to see all of my favorite artists next summer and I started selling my art (while I don’t really make money, I do something I love that maybe one day will be an actual career)
I’m also considering going to university next year and studying art/filmmaking, I truly believe we need to do something we love and live our life for the fullest because we only have one life and i rather not having money and doing something I truly enjoy then living in constant fear of dying and that thinking about how nothing matters and being suicidal with a 9 to 5 job (because I was at a really bad place 4 years ago in high school and I don’t want to feel like that ever again) because it is actually a waste of time living this way, of course it is not easy at all but you can do it, I really believe everyone can do whatever they want and love and it’s the most important thing you can do with your life, not living in the biggest house and having the best clothes but being happy with whatever you do and wherever your life take you

hey nate, ive been a long time watcher for 4-5 years so when i was like 9-10 and now im a 15 year old sophomore in high school. there were so many things i could relate in this video to atheism, catholicism, starting a band, finding alternative music but the one i could relate to the most was about death. i know its a scary thing but its something as us humans all go through, i find beautiful in a way knowing that there will/was only one of me and that ive impacted peoples live for the better or worse. it's something ive came hard to accept but its just something we can't escape. either way i love your videos and music it also so great no matter what for of media i consume by you it has always made me smile. youre doing great and i would LOVE to see raccoon tour live i know you guys came to omaha but i was sick that day hopefully there's a 2nd chance.

I play drums for16 years of my 20 year life, making this my job would be the best thing that could happen to me ever, I am determined, yes, but ofc there are doubts, there's a giant amount of anxiety, but honestly, this Video rn made me incredibly confident, that I'm gonna make the best of it, that I can do it.

There was a time recently where I stopped wanting to do things bc I stopped seeing the point. I told myself that school was just work and that the only thing that it would lead me to was more work and that it didn't matter what I did (work or no work), I'd never be happy bc I'd never met an adult who was. This video isn't the reason I stopped feeling that way, but it helps me remain hopeful about life and what's coming. The fact that you don't sugarcoat or breeze through the bad times helps too.
Also, the wanting to sleep for three months was very relatable lol. Definitely subscribing

This video was really inspiring! Life can be really terrifying sometimes, but it seems to me like you're really trying to live your life to the fullest. When we find ourselves at a low point in our lives, we often forget that it's possible to bring ourselves back up, but you've proved to me that it's indeed possible.
