I am a new subscriber and just finished watching your reaction to Chris Stapletons Tennessee Whiskey.
I enjoyed the fact that you stated that you are not regular country fans (I'm not either) but you gave him a fair try and obviously enjoyed him.
I would like to suggest that you try a different genre and watch the a cappella group, Voice Play , cover of Tennessee Whiskey.
It is a fantastic rendition and I am sure the it will cause you to fall into the a cappella rabbit hole of the groups Voice Play, Home Free and Pentatonix. I would suggest that you pick a song by Voice Play and watch it on your own before you react to them doing Tennessee Whisky.

The woman back up singer Morgane Stapleton is his wife. He also never puts her on the side like most back up singers. He makes sure she is up front like he is. Good Man!!!

Chris is a beast vocally. He can also write, play, arrange, you name it. Sometimes I Cry, I Was Wrong, Death Row, are all songs that make you feel. It's so awesome when an artist can make you feel something.

More Chris Stapleton! He has an interesting back story. He was a successful song writer. His wife (who sang with him in the video) encouraged him to perform his songs. But he was too shy. After years he finally gave it a try. If you watch this video again, you'll notice that he sings to her, not the audience. That is supposedly how he handles his stage fright.
He repertoire is Country, Soul, Blue Grass, Rock. I really like the song "Millionaire", but it is simpler than most. One of the most impressive is "COLD".

It also showcases Chris's vocal abilities. Justin is known as a vocalist and he struggles to keep up with Chris. This man is an unbelievable talent, and due to performance anxiety, the world almost never got to see it.

First on your list should be his cover of James Brown's It's Man's World if you like his runs, then What are you Listening to? Fire Away (that'll move you, too) Death Row and Either Way. Also, he did a lot of great stuff with The SteelDrivers (a Bluegrass band he was in). Can You Run? and Blue Side of the Mountain spring to mind. I also think you would be impressed by Kurt Cobain's unplugged version of Where did you sleep last night? a cover of Leadbelly's In the Pines.

Clearly there is quite a bit more going on with Chris then just Country. You hear, feel all if the other influences from Soul, Blues, and sometimes Southern rock to outlaw Country. He is so good at which ever genre he is ang into t huh huhhat everyone

This song was written about the time Chris was born, give or take. He is a very gifted songwriter, and completely overhauled it to fit his amazing abilities. Originally as a four chord Gospel type of Country song, Chris stripped it down to it's very bones, and made it his own.

Ohh lawd....Buckle up ladies. Chris is another level amazing. Just type in Chris Stapleton live in the youtube search bar and take your pick. The man is incapable of writing a bad song. You prob have heard some of his songs before and not realized it. He wrote songs many of which went to top ten only he was the ghost writer.He wrote songs and sold them to record companies because he has horrible stage fright. That lady singing with him on stage is his wife. She talked him into performing his songs on the condition she would be there with him. If you watch him when he performs live she is always within eyesight of him. She calms him so he doesnt freak out. She is an amazing singer herself and has been in the industry for awhile before she met Chris. Now they perform together all the time. Check out Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake at the CMA 2015...There are two songs they perform together....ONe of the best performances of our generation. Its amzinng.

One of the most wonderful songs of love and remembrance is Alan Jackson's "Remember When". As you note there are a great many but this one stands out IMHO, and the opinion of others.
"Sometimes I Cry" is amazing, also the background singer is his wife, Morgane. I read somewhere that he used to and still does suffer from stage fright. She helps him get through that. You could see it in the way he searches for her while on stage. Great Artists and I'm not even into country like that.

One of them suffered from stage fright, of that I am sure. And according to the New York times article written by Jon Caramanica published on May 1, 2017, (which I READ) Morgane suffers from stage fright. “I don’t have to be medicated anymore to get onstage,” she said. “I used to be so afraid that I would have to take beta blockers so I wouldn’t shake.” I should and will be more careful when commenting, but then again so should you.

I listened to a couple of radio DJ's talking about Chris not getting air play early in his career. They basically said that it's cooperate executives who are not really country music fans making decisions. Chris isn't traditionally sexy..doesn't look good with cut off sleeves and tight jeans on. They are doing to country exactly what they did to every other music genre..Chris doesn't look like Tim McGraw so they didn't care..

New subscriber here... I am so happy that you two ladies found this. Watching you two react to this warms my heart. You're both so damn cute and watching you fall in love with this is fantastic. I have 4 daughters and I only pray that I'm able to lead them to things like this that transcend time, nationality, race, and religion. I believe that music is a major factor in bringing people closer...and Chris is one of those rare people that does just that.
