The female singer is his wife Morgane.
Notice that he's singing to the woman who's accompanying him and how her eyes almost never leave him. She's his wife, Morgane. She's a singer too.
I absolutely love watching Chris and his wife signing to each other in this video. Plus their harmonies are money.
Anything live by Chris you won’t be disappointed
It still amazes me that people still have heard this song and of Chris before, he is just the best country singer going around and has been for some time.
His live performance of Cold at the CMA award show is absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think Chris has made his own type of sound it slow like country but sounds soulful like blues. Thanks for sharing!
You nailed it.
Chris Stapleton stands alone in mainstream country. You really gotta get in the weeds to find more singers that can even attempt to put on the show he does.
I used to say the same thing about country but then I was introduced to the great stuff and Now it's my fav to listen to.
This is funny I literally put country on TODAY to do some house work. I never thought I'd see the day lol. Something about it is really wholesome, and I mean especially this type of music - its therapeutic.
@@heyitscee1 Well there are many types of country so many of them you wont like put I think there is a type for everyone. I like music just not all music. You should check out the righteous brothers you,ve lost that loving feeling. It's not country but it will blow your mind. I recommend a react video on that song.
Gotta be the most popular song going on. You won't forget him after hearing this. His wife sings background. SMOOOOTH
This song was originally done by David Allen Coe, then by George Jones. David Allen Coe was one of the most under rated country artist from the 70s till jis death a few years back. Chris is a great talent and has a unique style and bluesy sound. Vocals spot on.
Well, David Allen Coe would be very surprised to find out he was dead. He’s not doing many shows at 82 but he’s still doing a few. Now George Jones, The Possum, is dead and buried in Nashville, along with several other singers who his family has allowed to be buried in the section of the cemetery he bought just for the purpose of having free places for down on their luck artists. DAC is one of the original 100% outlaws in country music. He’s mellowed as he’s gotten older but still has a hell raiser’s heart. I had the chance to see and meet him a couple times and he’s still a good see, even if he’s taking it much easier these days. On the other hand, you don’t have to take your life in your hands with the cowboys and the bikers and the hippies wondering if they’d get out of there alive.
Misinformed, should have confirmed. Thanks my bad!
I agree David Allen Coe was very underrated. Many of his songs are very deep. But I didn't know he passed away. He must have been close to 80
Oh NM, I see dudes post.
I've seen Sometimes I Cry being mentioned, definitely a must see, I'm adding Chris in a duet with Justin Timberlake, a mashup of Tennessee Whiskey and Justin's I Can't Drink You Away.
Really enjoyed your reaction alot. Chris's voice is unreal and soul piercing. He has so many great songs but here are a couple of my favorites.
Fire away. Have tissues available.
Cold.
Love the reaction. You must listen to I Was Wrong live at Austin City also!
Yes you gotta do more Chris Stapleton😊
A lot of babies have been made to this song!
Country blues! A little Tennessee Soul for y'all!🥰
This is just a taste, these are the meal. Enjoy.Chris Stapelton, (Cold) at the 2021 CMA Awards, and (I Was Wrong) Austin City Limits. it will blow your mind at how good he is.
In my opinion...One of the greatest soulsongs alltime...
So glad you did this version to see the adlibs he does. He is so good and so amazing live.
I was wrong is one of his best... live... And he has a video that is very sad, called fire away. About a guy who loves someone who is bi polar bad... sad song... Great reaction. Thank you.
Chris is his own genre. You'll find more on Country stations but only the songs that are more in line with Country. His entire Albums are anything but.
Thi has become my favorite song after playing over and over while cruising the Suwannee River. It echoed off the banks and filled the air with song. Fantastic
Love your laid back style, kinda like Chris's music. You do have your work ahead he is on another level. I suggest to start off with "I Was Wrong" then go to "What are You Listening To". I think his talent really shines when he does a cover of an Allman Brothers hit called "Whipping Post" Greg Allman is in that audience and gives him a standing ovation. A phenomenal talent. For a vocal range demonstration check out "Sometimes I Cry" live at the Bing Lounge., Enjoy
Thank you I will definitely check these out :D
The best slow song to dance to!
Chris Stapleton makes chics and dudes cry. The man sings this from soul.
Your speaking voice is as smooth as Chris’ singing voice! Keep it up .
Check out him and Justin Timberlake at the CMA's 2015...also Chris live performing Cold at the CMA's 2021....lastly check out him and Justin on Justin's video for Say Something. It was recorded on the first take! His live performances are always the best. He is a GOAT!
This was an enjoyable reaction. Chris Stapleton is generally better live so pick his live performances over his studio versions whenever possible. The lady singing with him is his wife Morgane. She frequently performs with him and is an amazing singer in her own right. He didn't actually start out as a singer but limited himself to songwriting. He has written and co-written over 170 songs, among them six number-one country songs, earning him nine ASCAP Country awards, including the Vanguard Award. His songs have been recorded by some of music's biggest stars, including Adele, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley. He has co-written songs with Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran, to name a few. He also wrote some songs for feature films, which are included on their respective soundtracks.
In 2007, Chris Stapleton started as the frontman for the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers, which is how I first learned of him. In 2010, he started a Southern Rock band called The Jompson Brothers. In 2013 he started his solo career after being signed by Mercury Nashville. He surprisingly did not become an overnight success. However, He eventually did become well-known and has been unstoppable ever since. He has received numerous awards and nominations. He is the recipient of five Grammys, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, ten Country Music Association Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, and some others.
I would recommend his live performances of Sometimes I Cry at the Binge Lounge, his Austin City Limits performance of I was Wrong, his impromptu cover of James Brown's It's A Man's World, his tribute performances to Prince and Aretha Franklin, any other live performance, as well as his music video "Fire Away". Be forewarned, the last one is a tear-jerker, no matter how tough you are.
You're going to love this
Sounds even better live.
You Gotta React to his Live Performance of "Cold" at the CMA!!!
One of my favorite song by him. 🤙🏼
Love your show. Thanks a lot
I’ve never liked country music, but after I heard… he’s fantastic!!!!
Many don't know it but Morgane, his wife who is singing with him here, is 8 months pregnant, carrying their twin boys
Not a country fan at all but this guy is amazing. Never heard a bad song from him. This isn’t even close to his best imo👍
Best I know at making the guitar an extension of his voice.
Girl, once you go Chris, you never go back!
You should check out Cold by Chris I think you'll love that song it's a great song which are all of the songs are great
EXACTLY what my Wife says . He gives me the shivers .
Chris does country blues more than mere country music
You need to watch the 2015 CMA’S with Chris and Justin Timberlake! It will blow your mind!❤😂🤠
Chris and Morgane Stapleton are rare talents . ❤
Oh please do more of Chris Stapleton. Live version of sometimes I cry... And many others. I felt the same way about Country music but there are some great artists. There's a great cooperation with Justin Timberlake which I loved. And he's duet is with his wife. Oh and plus, love your hair coloring!!!
Loved the reaction 👍🏻
Love your reaction - actually the original version of the song has now passed 3/4 of a billion downloads. A few more people seem to like him.
If you notice him keep looking back at his backup singers is because his wife is the lead backup singer. Great reaction.
Hello from Colorado USA🤘😎
My first time visiting your channel
As a non Country Fan you should do a Reaction to The Fabulous Legendary Mother/ Daughter Duo the "Judd's". Mama Naomi Judd just passed away 4-30-22. 😢😢😢😢
Great reaction chris really is a generational artist country mixed with soul and blues try cold live on the cma awards or either way live on the Charlie Rose show.
I can’t wait to hear more!
The entire album is outstanding
Watch the stapelton / timberlake live CMA performance = One of the Best live performances in history of award shows
Thank You Darlin for having an OPEN mind
He's more R&B than even this so called new country. Jim
Facts.
Great reaction! I like your laid back vibe. I love Chris Stapleton. Everyone pretty much has the same stunned reaction when they hear his soulful, powerful voice singingTennessee Whiskey. I would like for you to react to Yebba singing "My Mind".if you haven't already. Her performance and voice are stunning. I would love to know what you think.
I’d like to hear Rascal Flatt, life is a highway
His Wife is so ... no words , still His for all the Time
That's his wife on the stage singing with him, they are singing to each other.
LESS IS MORE -- YES!!! WISDOM!!
This is exceptional country bar band blues. The original stuck to a traditional country 4 beat with a more traditional I-IV-V chord structure. Until this version, the George Jones version was the most well known.
Yes you have to do Austin City Limits live you have to do the CMA performances live with him and Justin Timberlake and then any other live performance you can find of him and then you've got to do You Are My Sunshine with him and Morgan which is his wife and she's the backup singer and all his songs and also co-writer welcome to Greatness and honey you might not like country but this man is not just country he's a jointer all of his own he's great he's literally my favorite artists of all time
3:30..the moment we all watch for
The Acapella group Home Free will change your feeling about country music and get you a lot of subscribers.
Chris !!!!
Pentatonic Perfect and Sound of Silence
Every reactor needs to react to one of his few videos, "Fire Away". You gotta watch the video to truly appreciate it. Oh, and make sure you have tissues handy.
This is what Love is all about ... thrust
Great song... I suggest you check out... "Sometimes I cry" , " What are you listening to?" , "Whiskey and you" and "Fire away"
The man with the best soulful voice ever! If you also want to listen to something truly special, react to Angelina Jordan. Very old school soul, jazzy bluezy.... From, Elvis, Screamin J Hawkins, Etta James, Dina Washington, Whitney Houston, Adele and the likes. She started recording in studios when she was only 6 years old, won Norway's Got Talen at 7 years old. Today at only 16, in my opinion one of the best, most versatile female vocalists of our time.
That was his beautiful wife he he was singing to xo
Sweet reaction..open and heart felt. I hope you watch the "mash up" of Chris Stapleton singing "Tennessee Whiskey" and Angelina Jordan singing "I'd Rather go Blind".
"I'd Rather go Blind" is a jazz standard elevated by Etta James and "reborn" by Angelina Jordan.
Great reaction. Imo it's really Bluesy with a tiny bit of Bluegrass and Southern Rock. I especially love this live performance with his wife Morgane singing harmony.
I'm in love with you! That face!!!! ❤
I'd also recommend listening to "I was wrong " by him as well.
Very historical powerful classic
See what happens when you open your mind!
The lady accompanying him is his wife Morgan.
I’m late. But Morgane is his wife. And the way that they look at each other.
The woman he is singing with happens to be his wife. They have five kids together and she's on a lot of his songs. He often looks at her on stage because it helps with some stage fright.
Listen to Watch You Burn, His version of Simple Man, and all of his others
React to his live CMA version of Cold
For more country thats not country check out Colter Wall "the devil wears a suit & tie" and Tyler Childers " nose on the grindstone" and "lady may". Made me actually like country
Could you try brad paisley, welcome to the future.. great lyrics
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a reaction video to St Paul and The Broken Bones "Grass is Greener" from their Ourvinlyl session on RUclips. I think you will be blown away!
I always felt that this was more blues than country. As a non country fan I like it regardless. :D
You should check out the 2015 CMA Awards performance with Justin Timberlake. They perform Tennessee Whiskey and Drink you away.
He also does a cover of Metallica need to hear it
More of him
If you see this, check out some of travis tritt's work. I can reccomend his cover of "long haired country boy" for something with a similar vibe to this, but his original work is epic as well
Surprise! That's his wife singing back up for him.
Give Home Free a try. They are an Acapella group. They are a group that sings any genre . I think you will be amazed.
