great review. I know there is another name that most folks immediately jump to for their instant read thermometer, but I don't want to pay what those cost, just silly expensive to me. This one seems to fit the bill much better, and with your coupon code, even more affordable.
Is there a significant reason why I would want to get a fancier one like this over a cheapy ~$15 one that I got at wal-mart? What would be the pitch to get me to really spend an extra $50-65 dollars for a thermometer like this?

I've bought many of those cheap ones and they invariably crap out after 6 months to a year. They are also less accurate and not instant-read.
