Will hot pans melt the wax after it has cured?

Our Soapstone Sealer is made with the highest quality carnauba wax. Carnauba Wax has a high melting point (unlike other waxes such as beeswax). Most pans would need to be very hot to melt the wax. On a technical level, carnauba wax melting point is 180-187 °F (82-86 °C). Even so, we would still recommend using a pot trivet.

Hey! What do you think of sealing the outside of an old cast iron bathtub, once it's stripped of the rust (angle grinder and wire brush)? ALSO, would it help to slightly warm up the wax to thin and ease the application? Thanks!

You could definitely do that! As for warming it up, we would recommend that if you're going to do that to let it be a low and slow warm up (like sitting in a sunny windowsill), but we think you'll find that it goes on fairly smooth without!

My top has some light scratches. Can I sand the soapstone top to remove them before applying the product

      Hey Dan,
Great question! You can do a light scuff sanding, but the easiest solution would be using a Scotch Brite scrub pad (the green one), hot water, and dish soap to level out the scratch. After it tries you can apply a very thin layer of Soapstone Sealer to re-seal that area. Hope that helps!

Hey guys, great video! What do you recommend to use to clean my cast iron tools before treating with the Soapstone sealer and wax?

    Does this work on tile?

Yes and no. You can use the Soapstone Sealer on a tile floor so long as the tile is unsealed/porous. If the tile already has some kind of finish on it, then we would recommend our Clear Carnauba Wax.
