Last few generations Top end Daiwa's have traditionally had better manufacturing tolerances, lighter spinning reels compared to Shimano's but....Shimano's have had better casting distance/line management due to spool/lip/bail designs....and also ( this is a big one when it comes to finesse/light line applications) much lighter handle rotation feel. Looks are subjective, i think most people prefer Daiwa's MQ body design. Daiwa have also stepped up their Warranty game but no one in the industry beats Shimano's customer service , warranty coverage.
I consider the Daiwa Exist spool lip the best in the business. Daiwa ist absolutely Bullshit.....plastic-Bullshit....The line-laying of Daiwa is horrible....its so bad....so bullshit...lace-wigs around the clock....The Line-Laying is from middle Age..Game of Thrones will fish with this bullshitting Daiwas.....
for casting reels, it's shimano all day and twice on Sunday. for spinning reels, I think diawa makes the better $200 and below reels and shimano makes the better $200 and up reels.
No 22 Exist beats the competition. I have 3 of the latest Stella and Daiwa. Also Daiwa 21 Luvias Airity is superb! I have 2.
Just felt one for the first time today at my local tackle shop.
I honestly think the 19 Certate LT feel
as good in hand for half the price and is virtually the same weight for the specs.
But it doesn’t say Stella
I prefer the drag on the vanquish over the drag on my Certate LT, which makes me like the vanquish better
@@thechamplainfisher7854 Fair enough, but different reels designed for different purposes. Certate is not a finess reel like Vanquish. Can push them hard on fish on bigger stuff they shouldn’t normally be used. Same as the little Stella’s.
@@AMLuc1320 I agree man
@@thechamplainfisher7854 the Vanquish have a very good rating .
Do you guys sell the 2022 exist?
Pre order is sold out!?
No - you can pre order anytime
is stella fk for saltwater?
The stella FJ 3000 series weighs the same (7.4 Oz) as the new stella FK 3000 does...I have an FJ.......What about the new Exsence that came out last year? I know you’re only comparing flagship series reels, but the Shimano Exsence Type A 3000 series weighs 6.3 Oz....sure, it’s not a stella, but it is a fantastic reel...buttery smooth, quick startup inertia, and light weight like an Exist for nearly a few hundred dollars less. A few months ago I bought a Daiwa Luvias Airity 4000 series from Japan, and that reel is unbelievable (7 oz for a 4000 series)....functions like an exist and is over $200 more affordable than the Exist.....I guess we’ll just wait and see how the next Exist will impress us lol! All in all, the balance of a reel paired with your chosen rod is very important...I like the balance point about 3” in front of the reel seat....just before the start of the rod blank.
Stella Shimano forever best..
Yess,,,,,i have 2 stellas....1 is stella sw 2020 and stella 2022..i"m enjoy it.👍👍👍👍👍
My wife say it’s me or the Stella. I told her I’m gonna miss you…..
I am looking 4 sensitivity and want an nrx, what reel would YOU put on it.
I'm still partial to Exist, but I'm going to give this Stella a fighting chance in my arsenal and see how it goes long term.
Put a vanquish 2500s on my nrx+ nrr, it is a perfect pair
U need to try the new conquest rod . absolutely stunning light and very sensitive , love my new conquest. 7 foot med fast action
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. The new Exist looks way nicer from what I seen I'll wait for it the Stella looks kind of cheap.
I think the Exist looks dope too!
It looks cheap because it is a stradic with more bearings. Sure the frame might made out of magnesium or some short. But the body and frame is it he same. Maybe gears are higher quality.
The new exist is the worst looking high end Daiwa I’ve ever seen imo
@@thechamplainfisher7854 I agree does not look tough when I hold the Exist
heavy means durable ilike it 4000 size but where we buy trusted seller
I’ll probably get one of each…😛
Do you know the release dates for either?
March for Stella, I think April for Exist?
i got mine from japan
How does this reel (Stella) adopt to different line diameters in order to keep laying the line exactly parallel? By the way….Stella and Exist are very, very sexy! Edit: Ben…..the value of your consultancy is on another level! This precise differentiation and comparison between Stella and Exist is the reason why every fishing enthusiast should watch your vids. Very, very well done!
Thank you for watching! Good question on the line diameter. I spooled both mine with 19lb D Braid, which would be equivalent to 15lb USA braid. Handled it great. I would assume anything within that range would manage the same
Daiwa ist absolutely Bullshit.....plastic-Bullshit....The line-laying of Daiwa is horrible....its so bad....so bullshit...lace-wigs around the clock....The Line-Laying is from middle Age..Game of Thrones will fish with this bullshitting Daiwas.....
Mitchell had that line management in the 1960`s ....
I'm also not a spinning reel guy! but it's the stella! :D
Gotta love it right?!
U cannot go wrong with either Stella or Exist both of these high end reels are excellent.
Question if anybody can answer it, does it affect what color braid you use when fishing for large mouth bass ?
depends on water clarity. in muddy water you can use what ever color you like. but in clear water you should always use fluorocarbon/mono leader when throwing braid.
Personally not that impressed with the looks of the new stella, just looks kinda blah to me. New exist looks better but I don't care for the all silver look. The luvias airity from last year looks better than both IMO.
Agreed. Airity is a stunning reel
@@helmutjanssen1603 it's not that serious bro. I own both brands and like both, there isn't that much difference in performance fish whatever you like.
I agree ,I bought the Luvias 2510PE , I love this reel so much , bought another one last week, wow it's light, drag systems work beautiful and look sexy as hell
Hello from Finland. Exist should have won 7-5. And you didn't talk about the 5y free maintenance and lifetime warranty with Exist... Are you guys planning to do another video about these reels now when six months are gone...?
Killer review. Thanks.
Thank you for watching!
I will stick to a Certate or Saltiga.
Yes- it's about time that they thought of this on the line lay to be slow oscillation!!! Too bad Daiwa did not incorporate this in all their upper series reels. Still- this reel reminds me of the little brother- the Vanquish...LOL!!!
I just bought one for walleye…now wanting an exist
So is it pretty similar to say the line company's that do the level wind
The flat top, that stops line catch on the top of the stella should be standard across all Shimano reels. Im a Shimano fan but paying for the "high end" reel just to have this small quality of life feature? It shouldn't be reserved for the "premium only" reels...
Diawa F.O.R.E.V.E.R
Vanquish>
👍👍👍Ngan bati hayang na wae uing mah mang
Sex appeal is about 12 percent when compared to a 2013 or 2019 stella. That black gold super car sleek look crushes this bland silver on silver look
Next year… Vanquish
…that will be the one.
Pass. I’ll wait for the new Vanquish to come out.
You guys got a new hire with some youtube celebrity. You should intro him on here for the local juice.
I’ve got both!
How do you guys recommend to store I-Slide tails?
Flat!
@@thehookuptackle_usa in a tackle box or do I need to find something else to store them in?
@@konnerholt6838 I keep them in a Megabass lunch box - just a smaller box
AMAZING STORE..
I am waiting for exist first look and little comparison to Stella
Why do I see 2 different color variations?
One looks all chrome
Nice reels, but super happy with my Kage MQ LT3000.
yes yes yes Alberto!
The 22 Exist is superior in every way !
Of corse, if you are Daiwa fan.
@@sahbazsahbazovski7559 ikr. The average fisherman won’t see a difference between the stella and exist.
@@sahbazsahbazovski7559 I am not. I also own 3 Stella 2022!
Would like to know how the Stella does with straight Fluorcarbon. I have several Exist 18’s and they twist line badly when initially spooling…especially compared to my older Stradic CI4 fa’s. That us my only complaint about the Exist.
Like to talk to someone in the store before buying. I’ve tried calling and never get anyone. Voicemail went unreturned What is number to call? Thanks
Do you think the fish really care...if it's a Lew's, Diawa, or Shimano....?????
I hear the windbuster is a little tip heavy so I think that new Stella work better on it then your exist.
Here we go again with the worst term in fishing. Nothing is better than an exist on a wind buster. 🍻
well that is expensive reel whats the difference when the expensive reel like that and my daiwa exceller s 2500 when the two can land a good size fish its all upon how good the angler can play his lure.
I agree that a bad angler does not fish much using a high end rod N reel is pointless. It depends on the angler, does he know what to do when hook on to a nice size fish 😂😂😂😂
Well this Shimano fan man says EEFFF diawa!
I'm going to see if my boss will do direct deposit for my paycheck. I'll have him send it to you guys every week to save time haha
I like this idea 👍🍻
I like how you compared it to a diesel truck 😂
get it from japan you'll save 150 bucks .. thats alot of line and lures you can add instead of buying from hook up or most usa places with this japan reels ...
Daiwa fanboy here through and through.
I'm sorry😢😢
