    DUDE! I'd really like to hear how long (or short) running that engine went. It looks like you needed a different length pushrod...

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  4 года назад

      Mr Wizard ya i need shorter ones lol thats next on the list lol. I need to measure to see what i need too. And i got it running in under a year! I had some issues after that with burning plug wires and oil lines but it all got resolved. She runs great now with no issues

      @@WildSlideDrift Great news! I'm glad to hear it. Usually, that type of issue doesn't result in a catastrophic failure. But, having to raise the location on the rocker shafts causes them to be weak and not produce the best lift. If you get the valve geometry set up better, you might find a lot more horsepower. You can purchase (cheaply) or borrow (even better) a set of adjustable pushrods so you can figure out the proper length and then go online to find the right size. Proper valve train geometry is critical to getting the most lift and keeping the damage away from the valve train. High revving engines weakest point is the valve train. With really high lift cams you push the limits of rockers and the fulcrums that hold them. You've caused a weakening of the pedestals that hold the rocker shafts onto the head and it will cause the bolts to fail. Improper geometry puts still higher stress on those parts.

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  4 года назад

      Mr Wizard yep! I have an adjustable pushrod i just need to get the rockers off and figure everything out. But ya you are right i already broke one of the lifter bolts and had to fix that. Ive been working on a racing engine shop and i already want to change a ton lol

    So I have close to the same panel as you and can't figure out what to wire the red wire coming off the start button and the red wire coming off the power block on the bottom that connects all the switches together. What did you wire yours to?

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  3 года назад

      The one off the bottom is the main power for all the switches. Since it may draw alot through the panel itself, i suggest using it to power relays for whatever component its controlling. And the one off the start button will go straight to the starter solenoid or a relay that controls it

    Question: if current runs from earth to positive, how come the fuse is wired in before the light on the positive side? I've never understood this. I know conventional flow is positive to negative, but for things like HID bulbs where its constantly earth powered until positively switched, how come the fuse is after the bulb if its powered by earth ? apologies if that wasn't explained well, I'm not good at explaining

    • @mathew5956

      Sorry dont worry about the HID section of my comment above, i just googled it and realised they have the ballast.

    whats the purpose for having each function wired to a separate switch? just for fun ?

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  3 года назад

      If you lose a relay or a fuse it wont kill every component. Also running every component on one switch is probably going to be too many amps. You could lessen the amount if you have the ecu control fans/fuel but other than that i would keep them separate

    I planning to do this on my 10th gen civic. Question, can you also hook the electronic parking brake, sportmode and brake hold onto the panel switch? If so how? It would be a great help. Thanks!

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  3 года назад

      I honestly have no idea how the wiring setup is on those cars lol. I would look at some diagrams and figure which wires you need to get power from the panel

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  2 года назад +1

      I talk about it in a later video but I honestly forget which one lol. Its pretty easy though, you just have to splice this small white and black wire together, then there is a large power and ground cable. Lastly there is a smaller green wire thats the signal wire to turn it on and off.

  • @craigmoore2213
    @craigmoore2213 3 года назад

    Why use a switch panel?

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  2 года назад +1

      If you make your own harness for a swap and have the interior stripped, its alot easier. The ecu can control things like the fuel pump and fans but it was easier for me to just put it all on a panel

    How’d you adapt the ls wiring harness to the frs wiring harness

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  4 года назад +1

      BKG COLT i didnt i ended up just wiring the body as a standalone and using a standalone setup for the ls stuff.

    • @bkgcolt2433
      @bkgcolt2433 4 года назад +1

      Wild Slide Drift ahh I see lol cause when I was tryna choose a company to make a harness I asked how they did it and what not but from what your saying it makes sense you unpinned what you didn’t need and essentially wired everything to where it would feed on the stock setup

    • @bkgcolt2433
      @bkgcolt2433 4 года назад

      Wild Slide Drift one last question tuning wise have you figured that out lol

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  4 года назад +1

      BKG COLT ya i just have like a base map tune on a stock ls ecu. Cbm motorsports can take your cam specs, injectors, intake and everything else to make one. They can do it by mail to so its not limited to california

    Could you do a video of you actually wiring everything that way it’s better explained? I’m interested in learning how to wire relays,fuses, and accessories but don’t quite understand how to. Thanks

      Ive been wanting to since i wired a relay panel recently and made my own chassis harness. I can walk through how it is supposed to be setup. Sorry this video was super basic but i plan on making a more in depth one eventually

      Robert Durbin it plugs into the harness and then run a larger wire from its post straight to the positive side of the battery
