Can an Lpn with a variety of experience also become a legal nurse consultant?

Yes, you can!! It is not as common for LPN/LVNs, but you are very much a NURSE with expertise to provide. Depending on the case type and if the main concern falls outside of the LVN scope of practice, you may need to subcontract out the case. But you'd be surprised how many cases are regarding wound care, falls, errors, etc which pertains to universal nursing care.
You should have enough experience to be familiar with medical standards of practice and should be able to understand and interpret what is happening in a set of medical records. Typically, around 2 years or more of nursing experience is recommended.
Finding a quality LNC program is one of the biggest hurdles. Many out there do not set nurses up for success, but I personally know so many nurses who have thrived with Stephaney's mentorship program. Check out her FaceBook LNC group below. They have so many free resources to help you see if LNC is right for you and if her program would be what you need to become a successful LNC. What so-called “legal nurses” do is morally reprehensible. You are NOT qualified to review complex medical records and determine if a doctor (or doctors) with more than twice your education and training,violated the standards of care.The only reasons attorneys use “legal nurses” is because they’re cheaper than hiring a legitimate expert (i.e. a doctor in the relevant field). But you get what you pay for.
