  • Dr. Donna Prosser, Chief Clinical Officer at the Patient Safety Movement Foundation, is joined by a multidisciplinary group of patient advocacy experts and clinicians to understand the various meanings of the term 'patient advocacy' and to evaluate how an empowered patient can improve healthcare delivery, experience, and outcomes for all involved. The group will discuss the history and current state of patient advocacy, and will propose recommendations regarding the extent to which various healthcare disciplines and patients and their families can improve patient advocacy.

I’m a BCPA & we’ve gotten to the point in healthcare where patients are in peril without an advocate of some kind.

It’s a shambles run on the mill and speed patients through to open up bed space nightmare…

Like another comment, I am a current patient who has been blessed to be mentored by physicians from my team in a variety of specialists, other amputee patients and non-profit CEOs, etc. I want to change my career as my health improves and will reach out directly to the poster of this video to see how I can learn more about career opportunities in patient outreach and patient advocacy, as I wouldn't be on this planet today if it were not for my mentors/peer mentors/and advocates. Cheers! Great content!

Hi Imran- I am doing research myself regrading PA certification. Did you go through any certification programs? If so, would you mind sharing which one?

When Patients hear "change how we allocate resources" we know you all mean "change how we ration out our care".
