Absolutely love this rig, reminds me of what I'd see Chuck Schuldiner use in old footage of concerts. You could tell he was running full size Marshall cabs with the valvestate heads. Using a legit cab with the old solid states really makes a difference, really brings life into the old Crate amps especially. Keep rocking man, post some more videos of this sick rig
Thanks man! And yeah Chuck did look cool up there rocking it \m/
The full stack sounds godly man. So full sounding, a lot of depth and stuff, looks badass too! You've got an amazing rig right here man, super happy for you :)
Thanks! You're too kind. I really appreciate that. Yeah next time I'll crank it up more. I just didn't know if my phones mic could handle it lol I bought some little mic on Ebay. Its cheap but I just want to see if it changes anything.
Thanks again
after all the work you put in on your rig this sounds great man
the signal chain really lets you hear the stack in its raw form
cheeeers man
Thanks man! I really appreciate that!
Yeah! Exactly! That's what I wanted. To let people hear in its raw form.
Now I can try pedals and tweak the sound. Cheers 🍻
@@lootbaglarry8.2 I'll definitely try it!
Them 2 are definitely on my list. But I'll have to try the loop thing, I never did that before. I need to learn how to do that
I just picked up a VS100 with an AVT412 cab, been really enjoying it!
@@foofy14 Nice man! Sweet setup 🤘
I have the same head and office 215+112 sounds great! I put a lamp in the preamp from Mesa it became even angrier in lead 1!
@@Valandos888 wow. 2x15??,... and a mesa tube... wow. I can't even comprehend that. NICE!
I bought one of those new in 1999 and ran it through a 1960A cabinet and it crushed. Anything from Pantera to Metallica to AIC to Rage, did it all.
Sweet man! 🤘
That's a killer amp with killer sound , never expect that from a Valvestate
Thanks man! It's a cool little amp
Nice explanation buddy 🤙
Thank you!
That's great sounding stack. Vary punchy and bassie, but tight and defend at the same time. Can you plese tell me do you know what Celestion g12t75 speakers you have inside that two cabinets. Are they "original" first version that are made in England, or the new one, manufactured in China?
Sorry on my bad English.
Thank you for the great question!
I didn't know so i looked.
So from the looks of it the bottom cabinet was made in 2002 and the speakers were made in England, it says (IPSWICH ENGLAND 29LM) on them.
The top older cab (jcm900) has China made speakers i bought online, it say (50 O5LP).
But to be honest when playing i was just focusing more on the top cab sound cuz it was right there. I thought they sounded good. I'm not disappointed with them at all. Thanks again. It was fun trying to learn this stuff.
Soo freaking cool 👌 😎
Thank you!
I thought all this time was the second speaker input which is "16" only work when in stereo mode...... never thought one cab can work in 8 and 16 on mono....
I believe when you put it to stereo its letting you use left 8 or/and right 8. It's separating the left and right (2speakers and 2speakers).
But when you switch to mono you can only use one input cuz now its using all 4speakers... left 4ohm or the right 16ohm.
I still look up how ohms work cuz I forget lol
@@ant_yep Yea thanks for the information..... Very important to understand how cab work....m
@@jackslayers lol yes very...
I have a little story.
When I was younger I had that cab and I got tired of switching heads.
So I thought it was a good idea to have one head plugged into the 16ohm and a different head into the 4ohm.
I thought I could use them one at a time... OMG I WAS SO WRONG!
Right when I turned on the valvestate.. it shot power to the other amp and started smoking immediately! I totally fried it.
Totally regret it
@@ant_yep Yep this is why i don't experiment with amp connection😂..... I'll go around online (mostly Utube) to find people to give me correct method.....
But Your story is so interesting.... I hope that thing never happen to me somewhere in future.......
@@jackslayers lol yes lesson well learned lol and you are much wiser than me lol 😅👍
Just watched your video, awesome by the way 🤙🎸
I have something special coming soon 🤙🤣
Thank you! And can't wait to see!
one of the first maps I ever owned, you may want to tune that that thing though, lol
Cool man👍 do you still have it? Did you like it?
And yeah it happens lol
Like I said in the description I'm totally investing in a PC now. Editing that on my phone was so frustrating
HORNS UP! \,,/ Good timing... just last night I blew the dust of my VS100 and put it on top of 2 Marshall MG cabs. It sounds incredible. Not as good as your full size cabs though! *I noticed I could barely hear the bottom cab! When you play again... stand away from the stack, it will sound amazing. What were your amp settings for this demo? Your tone was SICK! Respect from Providence, RI
Thank you! and tight! you have a nice set up too \,,/
So on the 2nd OD the setting was gain90%, contour60%, bass10%, mids100%, treble 100% lol
FX button off and knob at 0%.
Dimension button on and OD reverb20%.
@@ant_yep Awesome! I will try this, thank you!
What is the sound difference using just one cabinet at 4 OHMs compared to running 2 at 8OHMs?
Good I thought. I used to use that amp and one Marshall lead 1960 cad at shows all the time. It sounded tighter and punchier. Kinda like a quick punch.
The full stack sounds fuller/thicker with a bit more bottom end.
I wish there was a setting where these two cabs could come out to 4ohm together. That would be awesome
What kind of guitar and pickups are you using sounds really really good
Thank you. Its just a normal Ibanez RG120 with its factory pickups
I need another cab 😂
Hahahahah. Sorry 😅
Dude that sounds cool
Crank it!!!!
Thanks man! I thought it was loud but yeah I guess I was holding back lol it was early and I wasn't awake awake lol
Ok I'll do a video on that lol
@@ant_yep 😂 yeah it seemed loud. It sounded very tight and usually it only does that when the volume is up a lot
@@mozelath3726 I haven't played loud loud in a long time lol kinda spooky lol
Get all up in that. Gnarly. Cant wait to get to band practice tonight!
@@Survivalist-of-war lol and Tight! 🤘
What speakers are in those cabs? That thing sounds huge
Thanks man! They both have the Celestion's g12t 75.
I would eally like to get a decibel meter and Really crank it lol
you have a valvestate like me! but yours is a little different. Maybe that VS has something to do with it??
YES! Dude that's how I came across your channel. I was looking up valvestate video and you popped up and I was like YES! I really like the valvestate line.
Yeah I believe you have the 8100 one which is very cool!
Love your channels man
@@ant_yep thanks. I just bought a grind pedal (fortin) and I will be putting that in front of the valvestate when I get it
@@metal_helm Oooo. Very nice. Thats legit! Can't wait to hear it
Hey, did you end up fixing the 8100 that had problems? I also have one of these but it makes a loud pop when I turn it on, and doesn't take pedals, it sounds ok (after that loud noise when turning on) and with the guitar directly plugged in it's fine, but when I connect a pedal in front of it, the volume lowers pretty much to zero, I can barely hear something, do you have any idea on what could be going on? Thanks BTW
That 8100? No, I haven't touched it ever since that video. I been trying to finish off easier project first. But when I get to it I'll definitely record it.
And your amp?... aw man, that would be a lot of troubleshooting trial and error. I'm no professional, I'm just some guy who likes to mess around learning as I go.
But I think the pop can be anything from a bad resistor or capacitor.
If you get into replacing stuff I usually order my stuff here.
www.partsisparts.net/catalog/marshall-amp-parts/electronic-parts-ics-transistors-resistors
www.amprepairparts.com/marshall.htm
Or maybe give them links a call and explain your problem.
You can open it up and see if there's any wires coming undone or solder connection cracks like what I found in my 8100 videos. I don't think you have a bad tube, transformer or power button cuz you said everything sounds fine after the pop and the noises clears up. So thats what led me to think it's a resistor or capacitor. Something like that... but I really don't know lol
And the no volume when plugging in pedals? I'm sorry buddy...I have no idea what can cause that.
Or hey, if you have Facebook join this group. I seen people helping people with their Marshall problems.

But please keep me updated or do a amp video update on your channel.
If I get more info on them problems I'll definitely let you know
@@ant_yep Alright, thanks for the reply mate, I'll stay in touch

What about when you want to run 1 8ohm mono cabinet into the head like the Marshall 8412 cabinet?
You can run a valvestate into a 8412 cabinet. Cuz the valvestate is 4ohm and the 8412 is 8ohm. 4ohm can go into the 8ohm because its greater.
Now if it was opposite thats a no no.
8ohm head should not going into a 4ohm cab.
What helps me remember is always thinking about your head first. Whatever that number is you want your cab number to be the same (that is best performance) or higher.
The higher the cab ohm number is not so great performance but still safe.
You can even run 2 8412 cabs because a 4ohm head with 2 8ohm cabs = 4.
Perfect match. 8ohm+8ohm=4ohm.
Is that Death I hear?
Lol where? I listened to it again. I don't remember doing a death riff.
What time? I want to hear lol
Lol! OK maybe not? But around 8:40 onward, then around 9:40. Just a bit of Spirit Crusher came to mind. Sounds great though, so that probably didn't hurt! ;)
@@CFChristian Tight! I do love me some Death lol I'm pretty sure I have riffs that ol chucky chuck inspired me to make or rip off lol I even heard some obituary 🤣
But Spirit Crusher!... Aw man, what'd a great song! U got great taste 🤘
@@ant_yep Same! Thought maybe he was the reason you had a 8100.
@@CFChristian Yes! He was one of the reason but even Obituary, Meshuggah and At The Gates used them and I loved how they sounded on them CDs. I understand they had other stuff to make their tone/sound unique and this amp just made me feel close.
BUT one of the main reasons why I liked the valvestate line cuz it was the only Marshall 100watt head I could afford lol
hablas español ?
No I'm sorry. No habla espanol
My favorite part 8:19 to 8:22 lmao
Also what’s the riff at 10:55
@@mozelath3726 lol 🤣 8:19 hahaha 0 00 0
@@ant_yep hahaha
@@mozelath3726 and 10:55 idk just something I made up. Not on the spot but just a riff I go to sometimes
@@ant_yep nice yeah I was thinking so. You should make a song out of it cause it sounds super cool
