3 visits to SA in the 1990s. If this is Joburg where are all the people? looks like a ghost town😢Hope those stations are going to be upgraded, but as nobody seems to use them they must be abandoned?
@vernongoodey5096 Most stations suffered the blow during Covid 19, and the country went on lockdown. Construction has begun to recover most of the stations.
@@bonganimkhwanazi6485 Good to hear. My last trip was from Joburg to Bulawayo via Beitbridge. Bought a 15F numberplate from the museum at Joburg station (is it still there?) to go with my Zimbabwe flying fifteen Garrett name and numberplate INGWE No. 381
What a filthy station and lines!! As far as you go it's just trash. No pride whatsoever! It's like a refuse dumpyard not to mention the grass and weed. A real cesspit! I wonder how clean the inside of the trains are? I wouldn't ever use this train that's for sure! The last time we travelled this route was in 1993 and it was such a pleasure. Stations were super clean and tidy as well as the interior of the train and along the tracks. You never saw such filth and weed jungle! Clearly it's not the case now.
They don't care. Just look at the state of the route and stations! The biggest refuse dumpyard in the world! That's a reflection of their concern and attitude towards their work ethics and passengers.
Wat het ons verwag van 'n land wat deur die ANC koministies terroristies politiek partye regeer word hulle trek mos alles deur hulle gat want hulle het nie voor 1994 gewerk om die land op te bou nie die bliksems klomp krimineele.
Pre 1994 JHB station saw the arrival and departure of over 1000 trains a day. Now looking along the tracks 30 years later, not a single trackside signal light in opperation, not to mention the general condition of neglect for all to see. It was said at the time that SA was built on the backs of black labour, and here is the proof of that lie. It is now an entrenched fact that black governments in SA can achieve nothing other than breaking things down, The ANC is truly and fundamentaly useless to its voters..
Brilliant video!! Thank you!
Thank you! Awesome video series. It has helped me add a lot more detail (eg: signals) to OpenStreetMap and by effect OpenRailwayMap. 🙂
Ah, man, watching this makes me wish i was on that train. This is a great video, bro. Enjoyed every minute. Top quality content 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

I wonder why the Randfontein route is not used because it’s more direct and shorter, going via Germiston causes massive delays
Hopeful they will resume the service via Randfontein before June.
The line has deteriorated... 😢 Haven't traveled on it since 2012

The passengers throwing rubbish out of the window, what's wrong with them.
There's a long way to freedom, our minds are still slaves.
No pride and respect!
Just SHOCKING how Spoornet gives X 2 excessively smoking diesel engines to Prasa for a passenger train. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
I believe that Transnet still needs its locomotives. Can’t donate to PRASA at the moment.

4:08 that's it, just throw rubbish out the window. Amazing how people just don't care
Its bad @puzzledzimbo
No pride or relfrespect.
Prasa got they own locos not tfr problems
Just a pity any videos taken in our country shows how dirty our country is with plastic and paper everywhere.

It won't be South Africa if it was clean
Especially on our railways lines, Johannesburg park station at some point since closure, it was a dumping site 😩😩😩
Shocking the state of the perway . In my days the perway was kept free of weeds and garbage. This is typical of a 3rd World country 😢
