    These are two important tips, but the second one is hard to do when you are exhausted from hurting and the meditations, self talk, and deep breathing aren't working. Sometimes you need relief without reaching for the ibuprofen. My "go-to" is a deep tissue massage gun. You're right, the relief doesn't last, but the self kindness feels important, especially for a workaholic self bully like me who is learning not to be. And I have stopped beating myself up. What DID work last night was listening and watching an impressive and favorite musical performance before bed. I was filled with joy. Pain levels fell. So I get it. Perhaps I need more joy (as you have told me...) and less massage gun? I'll bet that's what you want tell me!

      yes, it's amazing when you notice how certain things can uplift us and end in an automatic reduction of pain (it's proof that the pain is TMS after all!).
      I guess that's what I meant yes; positive distractions like performances, humour, hobbies, etc. can provide a better mindset shift than a massage that's focused on trying to treat the pain area. Even though if it's out of self-love, as you said, you are excused ;-)

    Actually, the pain is seriously a huge problem. I dont think it is just about getting attention. But the pain is more then that! I feel it shows that our body needs to learn its safe. The body might not be feeling safe and it just sending signal that something is not right. We need to accept and take care of ourselves with lots of care. We humans are strong yet fragile being.

    • @painoutsidethebox

      Yes you are right. It tries to get 'attention' because there is a huge problem. The subject is complex, but it does have to do with how safe you feel: both in your personal life (relationships, etc) as well as within the body itself (fear about having a broken body just adds another layer of distress).

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah, you get so used to it, don't you? And yet, each time you 'feel' their concern, they remind your brain that you might be in danger, and this does more harm than good!

    Do you consider rolling your neck if you have neck pain "babying" it. I don't want to feed the pain but sometimes I roll my neck spontaneously not intentionally to work out tight muscles. I absolutely KNOW it's my emotions causing the pain. This bout has been tough to clear up whereas my very 1st bout cleared up after reading Sarno's book Mindbody Connection. I feel my brain is not listening to me this time. I go thru the daily reminders and the pain is still there which of course starts me worrying that I'll be stuck with this immobility. I even question if seeking information aka spending time on the internet is only exasperating the issue. Your thoughts please?

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox  5 месяцев назад +3

      Hey Susie, yes I think if you're constantly rolling your neck, then it might be a bit too much. Consider that you need to be using your body as a person without chronic pain would. You might get the occasional urge to roll or stretch your neck (this is normal), but not all of the time.
      If you are spending too much time on the internet researching techniques, etc, then yes this can be to your detriment, as it could be making you doubt yourself and wondering if you're missing out on something. Now that you know how it all works, and what kind of habits you need to adopt, you need to let go of the information overload and just live your life while embodying these new habits. Hoping this helps X

      Omg I have been struggling with RLS roo

    • @susiehernandez6652
      @susiehernandez6652 15 дней назад

      @@sacredandsin3294 RLS is caused by having too much adrenaline in your body. You must reduce your caffeine and/or sugar intake and detox that adrenaline out of your liver by eating soluble fiber aka beans, any kind but green beans. Eat a half cup of beans 3 times a day and more if you continue to eat sugar and drink coffee or energy drinks. Best to wean off those. Soluble fiber will bind with your bile (produced by the liver) which is carrying all our metabolic waste such as excess adrenaline, cortisol (from stress), estrogen, and the beans (soluble fiber) will bind to your bile and it will exit your body in the form of a BM. Soluble fiber is the ONLY thing (insoluble fiber aka leafy greens or other veggies) that'll bring your levels of adrenaline down and get rid of RLS. Magnesium may help too but soluble fiber is a sure cure. The beans can be in the form of hummus, beanitos chips, or just beans out of a can seasoned and heated to your liking. Lots of products of beans in pouches you can eat with bread as a dip; those Indian package are tasty.

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox  8 месяцев назад

      Chronic Muscle tension comes from chronic stress & TMS. Regarding cold feet, there could be other causes which you may need to rule out with a doctor (circulation issues, etc).

    What about when we already have a real chronic illness? Like an autoimmune disease

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox  10 месяцев назад

      Some autoimmune diseases still require treatment if the symptoms are in any way damaging the body (e.g. celiac disease), and as such I don't include them under the term MindBody Syndrome and I don't coach people on these issues. However, other practitioners and I have seen people who have reversed them or reduced their severity after using this work. I would encourage you to look into Dr Joe Dispenza's work and testimonials regarding this.

    Menopause ... no one warns you of what happens to the body and brain, its like the body is completely someone else and brain too.
