I know part of the reason why Metallica was so upset with Alice having to drop out of the ‘94 tour because of Layne relapsing hard with heroin was because they were pretty big fans of Alice and Layne, and that Alice dropped out literally the day before the tour was supposed to start I can understand why they’d be upset and honestly they had every right to be. But that they responded to that by airing his dirty laundry out the world, or as much of the world as they could in the pre social media age, I think is totally classless. This is also the same tour where they made jokes about Kurt Cobain’s suicide so they were pretty classy guys back then I guess. Now to be fair, I’m sure if they got asked about it now, they’d own up to those being shitty things to do, or at least I’m pretty sure James would, but if I was Layne, I’d be a little upset if I knew they did that shit and then Jerry still went and played with them.
High_ Voltage that seems weird to me for some reason. I’ve never heard either of them mention that. I know Kirk has said he knew Kurt but that’s it. Kurt was mostly friends with riot grlll bands. Of the Seattle big four, he was the only one who wasn’t that close with the other singers.
Russell Schwartz Kurt went to one of their performances in 1992, look up whiplash 1992 they played it because Kurt was in the crowd and wanted them to play it because it was his favourite song.
For a long time I held a grudge and could not listen to Metallica because of the stupid comments they made about Layne and Kurt. Now imagine if those bands made a comment about Cliff’s death they wouldn’t like it right? I like to think that maybe they settled things in private due to them appearing at MTV Unplugged for Alice In Chains and still being friends with Jerry over the years but who knows?
The bands don't even hold a grudge for 30-40 years yet the fans do? Some of yall are pretty petty. Of course they wouldn't like it if someone dissed cliff but there's nothing really to diss cliff about he didn't drop out of a tour last minute after agreeing to do it. Far as the Kurt comment it was classless but they were young and drunk and has issues of their own. Nobody is perfect.
@@midnight347 That’s exactly my point who were they to judge and make fun for their struggles when they themselves were struggling with something. They bullied Jason their own bass player into quitting and tried to say he quit on his own. The guys in Metallica have always been shit heads.
These kind of comments are so overdone and it shows how little you know and how much you're reaching trying to get a viral comment with your overused "Metallica doesn't have bass"jokes. It was only justice that had very low bass and their live stuff has ALWAYS had plenty of bass so your stupid comment makes 0 sense to anyone who actually knows what they're talking about.
Badass to see the boys bring out Jerry to jam but only thing I can think watching this is how much I wish things had worked out with Jason :/ always respected him coming into a difficult situation and sticking it out for 15 yrs. Me being a naive teenager when he "left" the band I blamed him just because I couldn't comprehend it being anyone else's fault. Anyways I done wrote a paragraph 👊
Holy shit!! Thank u sooo much for this!! I was 14 and this was my 1st concert and even had my 1st beer!! lol I have been wanting to see this for bout 17 yrs!! Thanx again for the upload!!
I was there, not in GA though in the nosebleed seats. I remember Candlebox got boo'ed relentlessly, hahahaha. Fairgrounds Speedway. I used to work at Great Plains Coca-Cola on the other side of the street.
Joseph McDermott this is true. Just to add because the guys at Metallica get unfairly dissed by Layne obsessed fans... Metallica were the band that supported the other members of AIC when AIC was in hiatus. Metallica took Jerry and Sean on tour with them and at one point Inez was supposed to replace Jason when Jason quit. These guys were friends and they remain close still to this day,
@underclouders ;/ but i must say i dont like to much this "new James" with his love to fans,in 1989 Hetfield said:FUCK YOU,TODAY IS A GOOD TIME FOR BEAR,today is:Metallica loves you,you are beatifull...

They did lol, you can watch jerry get interviewed by Lars. They never held a grudge, they've both said publicly they're fans of each other
