- It's spring and spring mean lots of new baby goats. I have a lot of people wanting to get into goats around this time of year and they ask me "what do I need?" So I been ask to make a quick reference video of things that you would need to get started. I will also leave some links to amazon down below.

I love goats and want to get a couple milk goats to make soap and other natural products for my family. I cant afford to pay alot as im on disability but i have a 5 acre homestead to give them a good home. Ive had 2 goats over the yrs so im not a newby lol just trying to get my place ready before I get them because preparation is needed in advance. Im hoping to get a smaller breed that produces a good amount of milk and hopefully poled or dehorned as i have grandkids that i want to be able to spend time around them safely. Horns can cause accidental injuries that id prefer to avoid if at all possible.
Good luck! Mini Nubians are a great breed. They produce a lot of milk on less feed then a standard Nubian.
What is the furthest drive a goat can handle? I live in Alabama and so far haven’t found anyone breeding mini Nubians here.
Blue cactus 🌵 dairy goats went from Arizona to new England. You can also fly goats on some airlines. Check the MDGA website they have a list of breeders per state. However you are more then welcome to come up to Michigan :)
