There isn’t anything wrong with people wearing the gear. They paid for it, you can’t really judge them about it. Its their property. So just please don’t call out those men. Let people do whatever they want, wether airsoft or reenactment and stuff. Its discrimination to call out these “old, obese, short” types of people. Keep in mind that reenactment isn’t for specific people. Let them do as they wish. Thats all😅

US reenacting is not the best, to say the least. But trust me the Reenacting community around the world is a lot better than this. And there are of course also good US reenactors.
Damn, this may be messed up to say, but as a bigger guy myself, I'm doing my best to not be the biggest guy on the field anymore. Tired of what I'm seeing, and i want to make my unit and myself proud and look good while doing it. I'm trying purposefully not to buy any larger pieces of kit until i slim down. My 21st Panzer deserves a better me, and I do as well. Wish me luck! :P

Most authentic I’d say were the Finns and German Cavalry near the end. They look like real soldiers and furthermore are accurately dressed and equipped

I know it's only a hobby for most of them, but I don't think that most of them are young enough and fit enough to be dressing up as front line infantry soldiers etc. Maybe guards at Luftwaffe airfields or flak gunners in the Reich or truck drivers, but they don't really look much like the people who they are supposed to look like. If you look at photos of the Fallschirmjager and the Panzer Grenadiers, they were very young men who often looked quite thin, but they were all very fit and athletic, without beerbellies or greying hair or glasses. Their self belief and their pride/arrogance (?) also gave them a certain swagger and attitude which is hard to replicate. Even the NCOs and the junior officers and the Abteilung and Kompanie commanders were younger than the majority of these reenactors.
Or maybe it would be more accurate to dress like the Volksvweer (the People's Army) and carry mock panzerfausts, while dressed like the civilian defenders of Berlin. With only arm bands destinguishing them as combatants of any sort.

Yeah, people are way to judgmental of reenactors, I know it looks goofy to have someone equivalent to Herman Goering fighting in the front line but in the end they are having fun and that’s the important part

I can guarantee to you that there was not one obese enlisted guy, nco, or field officer. seriously. play a realistic part. if you are super fat, don't be an infantryman. if you are super old, then folksturm is more your thing. if you are super young, then chose volkstorm or hitler youth.
