Her voice is like the finest of wines, as she ages her vocal performance, framed by her impeccable arrangements, get better and better. So , so underrated. She should have a shelf full of Grammy awards but they have never recognized her. It matters not because she is ours, yesterday, today & what is to come.
This is the best Beatles cover version off All time - Natalie... ur voice in this is a dream! I bought each and every album of u in a record store and I luv every album I wish 2 have this on CD oder vinyl And also this: U were in cologne singing in a church... Ur own version of a poet by Francesco Di Assisi - I want this so bad
I’ve been a fan of Natalie Merchant, for along time. I’m pretty sure this is St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in Foggy Bottom, Washington, D.C. The Piano Player is the church’s music director. His name escapes me. I remember when the Pipe Organ was installed, back in the late 90’s. My company did the AC and Humidity Control Equipment installation to support the Organ. I did the start-up, service and maintenance on the equipment. I always though the Engineering was wrong and the cooling coil should have had split controls put on it. The Floor is what I question, the Church had a hydronic heated Stone Floor.
Perfect - never thought I would have the opportunity but had the privelage to see Natalie perform live in a small town in Yorkshire UK last year. One of THE most underrated female singers ever.
Been a Natalie fan since In My Tribe, 10,000 Maniacs. The only thing more moving than her voice was the child in the red sweatshirt, lying on i assume his mother's lap, who popped up to hug her when she started crying. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song, and that beautiful connection.
Crying a bucket here. Really missing Ringo to come in too, at his spot. This is what artists and musicians are for. To speak for our hearts when we can find no words.
I have been lucky enough to see Natalie twice in my life and it truly was amazing. There is no voice on earth like her. She has the ability to make you feel happy and sad but you are comforted in her voice. Thank you for this amazing video. I want to say to all the victims of gun violence and there families my heart goes out to you all.
I was introduced to the 10000 Maniacs near their end by a friend. I am thankful to him for the introduction. I have been a rabid Natalie Merchant fan since. I’ve only seen her once (Sanger, New Orleans, 4th row). She was awesome then and remains so now.
I would never believe that from the time she was unknown to the height of her fame to whatever incarnation of her career now exists, Natalie would have reacted or performed any differently aka from her heart.
Natalie's has the most powerful 'soft and quiet voice'. When I first heard The Cowboy Junkies I was enthralled and captivated. They quickly became my favorite female group.
Thanks Steve. I always loved the Cowboy Junkies and many covers they did, like Lou Reeds' Pale Blue Eyes. Off the subject here... but there is a male Chinese (yes CHINESE!) performer that is beyond incredible. Check out Hua Chenyu.@@ocgolfboy
West Coast Wally I didn’t mention looks. I commented on her voice. I’m not a singer and it’s not my profession. Be original in your comebacks at least. Smh
Here's my point referencing your comment: OBVIOUSLY her voice has changed... as I'm sure your voice, looks, memory, etc. won't be the same over the course of 30 years either. Therefore, I see no use in your original comment. Hopefully you can enjoy the music or simply move on. Thanks.
Let it all be all the fallen and all the doom, let it be all to human, let there be growth and a mighty transformation, we find the light in darkness. Let it be, and let us not wish different but to learn from our fallen moments so like natures unending convection learn to rise up again.
A única coisa que me faz desviar a atenção da Natalie Merchant é o menino de laranja consolando a mãe no canto superior esquerdo da tela. A partir do segundo minuto😍
Great performance by NM, but I don't see the connect to Janis Joplin, except they are both in their own league. If I had a time machine I would see Janis.
"victims of gun violence" smh just another way for folks to deflect. Just like "hate crime", etc. Instead of looking at the core of the problem...people with problems that someone failed to help/stop/enabled.
One of the best versions of that song, I sang it too with my band 50 years ago....Greatings from East Germany..
She is the most talented artist of all time. I cry most times she sings
Yes! She is amazing!!!!
Absolutely 💯 Tears of joy and happiness. She's also an artist I love listening to in my melancholic moments.
True That!!
The ladies to her left have no no clue they are in the presence of greatness

I've just found this woman.....and what a fantastic find.....and what a excellent tone of a voice so welcome to my music list Natalie...xxx
Listen to Natlie's song "What's the matter here" 1987 was the original, her lyrics will bring you to tears.
She's one of the best. Unique voice. Check out Annie Lennox/Eurythmics and Anne Wilson/Heart, too, if you aren't aware of them.
@@robloxvids2233 definitely, Annie Lennox

Just below them, later on in performance, someone had to pull out a tissue. Very moving performance.
Wow. Natalie Merchant singing right into our souls.

Giving Natalie a run for her passion…the piano player. Well done, sir.

chris gleason Absolutely spot on. God bless her.
Amen. I love her so much. I only saw her in concert once, but it was magnificent.
Wow ... Natalie is sublime, as always, but nice light touch on the keys. I wish I knew what they were commemorating.

Beautiful!
Natalie does not disappoint. Great job on a great song. Thank you for sharing and God bless all from Patrick
The perfect singer for the perfect song of the times! What a voice!

Nicely done. Natalie has always been truly an artist. I'm a fan for life.
Lovely rendition
My favorite of all time, Natalie Merchant! Thank you for the music.
Mine too. All time…
a voice i could listen hear everyday for the rest of my life🙂
Natalie's has the most powerful 'soft and quiet voice'. When I first heard The Cowboy Junkies I was enthralled and captivated. They quickly became my favorite female group.
You’re thinking of Margo Timmins who fronted the Cowboy Junkies. Natalie fronted 10,000 Maniacs. Both have incredible voices.

Beautiful like always Natalie, very touching.
She has always had a beautiful soul
Absolutely beautiful
At 3:00 "Mother Mary"
entire body goosebumps
MUDOU MUITO! Fazia tempo que não ouvia!
Natalie has the most beautiful, rich, soothing voice of all female singers i think. She is just mesmerizing.
Quelle superbe version...
Voz linda, como sempre.

Beautiful voice
What an awesome amazing true artist.Voice nd persona ageing so well like wine.Thank you Natalie for your soulful music!
2:57 for classic Natalie and her powerful voice.
West Coast Wally first album I bought as I started college was in my tribe. 30 years later I still recall that voice. It’s not here.
"Classic Natalie"...NOT her voice from 30 years ago.

Only Natilie Merchant could sing this old song and make you cry. Such feeling in this song.
Profound & beautiful our Natalie ❤🎉😊

LOVE THE PROFOUND EXPRESSION.
This seems so incredibly fitting as we see this terrible year come to a close.
Talented and beautiful lady.

I never completely understood what Paul McCartney was trying to say in this song, until I heard this version at this time.
Let It Be
Natalie
Paul had a dream he saw his dead mother.. and she said LET IT BE
He dreamed this song. His mother Mary was telling him to just let it be. He woke up and didn’t know it was his song.
I was there. Thank you, Natalie.
What was this occasion? Doesn't seem to be regular concert.
❤
Amazing cover

What a great great singer Natalie is - God bless her...😉
This Lady is pure talent, I will love her always💖
WOW...this is magic!
So very beautiful ❤
JUST LISTEN as there are no words that can do this heartfelt performance justice.
omfg Natalie is beattuful inside and out,l
Paul said in a famous interview that he wrote this song after his mother died and she came to him in a dream with this song .
Love
omfg.
She sings to my soul
Beautiful rendition of a classic song, but sucks that nothing has changed since she sang this.
Voice from heaven 🙏🏿
Mother Mary is Paul's mother.
Perfect .
Damn this woman can sing!!!
Take it up. It was a slow song to begin with But the voice remained the same. The girls in the orchestra were impressed to, but they are only 28.
Her voice resonates at the same frequency as my tear ducts.
She's awesome
Bury the guns and let them rust. Wonderful Natalie ❤️
SHE IZ A GAWDESS ON EARTH
Fitting song to sing in any house of worship.
So moving. Love her!

Janis was dirty. Natalie is pure.

O.K. I lose and you win. Natalie let it be
