D J Rogers version is off the chain!!!

D.J. Rogers' version has more of a soulful R&B tone, which I prefer. However, I do like Natalie Cole's more pop-soul version too. Just glad both versions live on. R.I.P.

DJ's version is more soulful and passionate, but Natalie did her thing too!!! Love them both.

I can see why Natalie and Luther loved this song. DJ ‘s voice is so clear and beautiful. True soul singer. Gospel annoited ❤

This song was suppose to be a duet between Natalie and Luther Vandross but Luther was recording his album and couldn’t leave the studio. But he did the background vocals here. I love Natalie’s vocals here. She sung her face off without over singing the song ❤. Bravo bravo but I still wanted to hear Natalie and Luther duet. Shortly afterwards, Luther had that horrible stroke and never recovered. Rest in heavenly peace to them both

Wow 😯 awesome history there. Didn’t know there was a pending duet with Luther on the horizon. Oh my goodness how tremendous that would have been! ❤❤❤❤

They both are good, but D.J. Rogers' version is better

Both renditions are wonderful. However, I will have to give my vote to Ms. Cole as in my opinion her song is more smooth and sexy; and I like Ms. Cole's arrangement better.

I'm sorry D.j. Rogers hands down.
He sang the heck out of this song he wrote& produced..He was so unappreciated and underrated.
D.j. Rogers put his whole soul into this song..
    Nothing against Natalie Cole..
D.j. Rogers I felt his every word while he genuinely professed his Love❤❤

Whew!! I love 💗 me some Miss Cole but gotta go with the original. She 🎶 sings the song in the exact key as D.J Rodgers. Casting my vote 🗳️ for D.J. Rodgers ❤

I love Natalie but it’s D.J.’s song forever! Peabo Bryson also took a lot of D.J.’s vocal style!

I enjoyed both. However it's something about a man professing his true love to a woman!! D.J. Roger did his thing, and gets the win for this one.

D.J. is the one who took the song where it should be!!!! But Natalie was not in anyway far off from the point!

Why is it a battle? They both did the song, nicely! DJ is the original of the song. Natalie had her style. Jennifer Holliday did it great, also! Doesn't matter who sings this song song, its a hit, period!!!!!

Please consider doing a video with Natalie Cole’s version of the Isley Brothers song “ Don’t Say Goodnight” verus the Isley Brothers original version. Natalie Cole recorded her version on her “ Leaving” cd back in 2006. She performed a beautiful interpretation. It should have been released as a r&b single

What about the Jamison Ross version, that came out this year (6 months ago)?. Nobody will ever come close to DJ though. He also had some nice duets with Patrice Rushen, like "given it up is giving up"
