@@LivingZoology If I might about the views. It might just be the combined work of youtube algorythm not prioritizing your videos anymore (nobody knows why that happens) and covid restrictions not being much of a thing, so people have less time they are at home to watch.

where i grew up (south Brazil), i used to handle coral snakes almost in a weekly basis, its the most docile, calm, easy going snake that i know of, you can pick it up, play with it and them place then on the ground, no problems, funny enough, the "fake coral" slightly longer and thicker, has no fangs or venom, and its VERY aggressive, boy ohh boy she has a bad temper, the snake with the biggest amount of casualties in Brasil is the "jararaca", the venom is not that powerful, the problem is her nasty personality, she will chase you or your children if you get too close
How on earth do you find all these beautiful snakes. I'm sure it would take me years tramping around and see none. Congratulations on another fantastic video.
Great video....love the beautiful camera work. It must be so hard to capture the animals as they live their lives without disrupting their behavior. Terrific work. thanks, also coral snakes look so mild mannered but have a aura of power somehow. Again, great work.
Thank you very much for your support and watching our videos! Yes, it takes us a lot of time to film our footage. Usually we are in the nature for the whole month and we try to film as much as possible. All 3 species of coral snakes we found in Peru were very calm (for coral snake standarts).
Superb as always. Love seeing obscure species. Never seen any herping videos from the coastal Peruvian desert. Since you two do so much traveling to exotic places, seems weaving in a little travel info and local cultural info would be appropriate and appreciated. But, I know that is a lot more work and wouldn't want it to compromise the spectacular herp videography. Just a thought.
Thank you very much!!! There is very little information about herpetofauna of coastal Peru, it was exciting to visit this region. Don't worry, there will be behind the scenes videos, where you will see more of the landscape and so on :)

Beautiful snakes, just a lovely video. I'm in America and I think all of us know the coral/king snake rhyme. Red to black friend of jack, red to yellow kill a fellow. Had me terrified of coral snakes, the bite rate is so low no anti venom exists in the U.S. glad to see the desert coral snake would have fooled me!
Thank you for watching! Yes, many people know the rhyme, but it is not accurate. There is antivenom, but coral snakes have strong neurotoxin and it is important to get to the hospital quickly.
@@LivingZoology really? My info must be old, I know they got rid of the last stores in the south east in 2014. They expired, and I know they haven't replaced those. But anytime one is around venomous snakes it's always better not to get bitten. May I say your camera work is gorgeous.

This is awesome. That first snake Oxyrhopis petola was breath taking. Wish I had some. You could breed them and sell them. The desert Oxyrhopis had a subdued beauty to it. Do you know of a good book on South American snakes in English?
Thanks for watching! Yes, those Oxyrhopus snakes are awesome. It is weird but there are not many books about this region. We had only Reptiles and Amphibians of the Amazon, which is already a bit old.
I didn't believe that the Coral snake was indeed a Coral snake. I was always told red on black venom lack. Red on yellow kill a fellow. I'm glad that I saw this video and learned that isn't the case.
