I never played the game so I didn't connect to the reunion based off the characters themselves...HOWEVER, the fact that its 2 brothers reconnecting after being separated for an extended period of time is what had me emotional. My older brother of 4 years passed away back in 2017 so whenever any type of story lines or topics involving brothers are displayed, it always hits really close to home.
Hi Mel. The plastic cup-thing Ellie had in her hand after taking a shower was a Dutchess Cup. It’s something women use during their period - a feminine hygiene product. 🙂
Bro you are by far my favorite reactor on YT. Love the content and i get the love you have for this game and story. I also played the game a bunch, I think 8 or 9 times.
Joel and Ellie do share similar pain. Ellie's lost her parents, best friend, and her home. Joel lost his daughter and while I know people like to draw up comparisons; Ellie is a child while all of this is happening. Think about what that does to your psych. They don't have guidance counselors or therapists in this world. No one can guide Ellie through her emotions but the people she's traveling with. She feels safe being with Joel because he's the only person whose stayed by her side for so long. That scene was very good, but it's still hard for me to choose my overall favorite because they did such an amazing job.
The game is 10 years old theres no spoiling this game... In fact you're reminding me of things I had forgotten and also vindicating my memory as its been a while since I beat the first game back in 2014...
i watch you for the game comparisons, its been a minute since i played the game and I like someone to talk about the similarities and differences that I do not remember. If I wanted a game spoiler free react I would watch someone else who hasn't played the game.
If you pause it at the moment when the entire bridge is in view from far overhead(bridge horizontal view). You can see crew members bottom left corner.
Nice catch on Deena Mello! I saw that little easter egg too. The only thing I'm not a fan of how he got injured. Why would he pull out the bat handle? In the game there was no choice. They could've just had him stabbed by the guy who pulled it out and have Ellie shoot him. I also wanted him to say to Tommy: "Your wife scares me" like in the game...but I guess the implications wouldn't work out this time around.
This episode retroactively made me like the show better. My number one gripe with the show had been that they basically neutered Joel as the alpha giga chad he was in the game. Game Joel would eat this Joel up, and I thought it was probably a budgetary issue as to why this Joel wasn't the badass he was in the game, because you can't give him a Schwarzenegger movie death toll to end the season with the dozen of other encounters they've missed. However, this episode let me realize that they deliberately WROTE this Joel to be lesser than OG Joel, and it actually improved over this same portion in the game because you can look back and see the issues he faced both physically and emotionally throughout the journey so far, whereas in the game you have to figure it out kind of on your own. One might say that even though it makes sense given everything they'd been through, his plea with Tommy in the game was kind of out of left field in that it wasnt really hinted at beforehand. You just had to look back and realize that he is beginning to see Ellie as daughter esque and doesn't want to lose her like he lost Sarah. Until that point, the guy almost cutting his throat on broken glass, or the guy almost drowning him in a puddle just felt more like quick time events inserted just for gamership rather than him looking back and wondering, "how many close calls have we had." Somebody else brought this up and swapping topics. Joel is falling apart at this point because of the life he has had to live. Tommy is mentioned at looking healthier because of the life he is currently living. He has something to live for and is in a safer environment.
I think the spoiler thing is for people that have waited for it to come to PC which is next month...which doesn't make sense because if they are watching the show it's literally spoiling the game. You can't win lol
i think the "everybody loved contractors" is partly cuz ykno he can make up whatever he wants like ellie said he could just lie, but also, Jesus Christ was a contractor so like, I think he was also doing the whole, maybe im lying but it aint really a lie lol
Atmospheric, calm, beautiful series foreshadowing the calm before the storm in the face of David (players will understand) expressing Joel's fractured and ptsd, which was not in the game, they cut out a game scene at the university in vain, where Joel finds a dictaphone with a recording of a scientist who says that the fungus has the property of mutating in the brain, as well as in vain that Joel's injury was changed since it was more shocking in the game, Jackson was shown early because in the game at first it it looked like a base or a checkpoint that only over the years turned into a full-fledged civilizational community (you can write it off as a quibble), Tommy's wife was made black although she was blonde in the game)))
From where the show has gone since episode six, it has been hitting right in the feels since the beginning, truly wouldn't changed a thing about it. The way how both Neil and Craig brought Tommy's and Maria's Jackson to life was done so damn well, plus with the actors delivery of their lines kept making great impacts, especially in the scenes with Joel opening up to Tommy and Ellie's bedroom scene when Joel tells her he has to leave her. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, "the vibes are strong with these ones." #TheLastOfUsHBO #PedroPascal #BellaRamsey #MellVerse

i personally appreciate the comparison between the game and show, especially since i'm not a gamer and it's nice to know. and if people don't want to spoil the game, like you said, then play the game before watching the show. did they think the show isn't going to spoil what happens in the game? lol. i actually appreciate reactors that review the show vs the game. it's a nice insight.
I was also hoping on the you're threading on some mighty thin ice line soo bad, it's my favourite of the scene xD but we'll always have the perfect dilevery of it in the game so I'll live
My man Mello got this whole dang game memorized
I have never seen the game. This is fresh for me and I am here for ALL of it.
It's just like when they adapt a book I remember every line.
“You’re right, you ain’t my daughter. And I sure as hell ain’t your dad.”
We appreciate you too, Mellow
Consistent mell don't miss
Hi Mel. The plastic cup-thing Ellie had in her hand after taking a shower was a Dutchess Cup. It’s something women use during their period - a feminine hygiene product. 🙂
I hope you're doing well, and having a good day, Mel.
this episode got me so emotional man
Bro you are by far my favorite reactor on YT. Love the content and i get the love you have for this game and story. I also played the game a bunch, I think 8 or 9 times.
Just wann say I love your reactions and also, I‘m obsessed with the bed sheet set on your left lol so pretty
OMG THE WIFE she from true blood 🤩🤩 that’s Tara
Goddamn you’re passionate about this. I miss being passionate about things lol
This show is so amazing it really is opening doors to hopefully seeing more great games adapted
If you pause it at the moment when the entire bridge is in view from far overhead(bridge horizontal view).
You can see crew members bottom left corner.
“You have no idea what loss is.”
That scene was so well done I almost overlooked that Commie bullshit they shoehorned in.
Have You ever thought that comment was an actual joke that the writers put in? I laughed at it, especially with Tommy's reaction.
Until that point, the guy almost cutting his throat on broken glass, or the guy almost drowning him in a puddle just felt more like quick time events inserted just for gamership rather than him looking back and wondering, "how many close calls have we had."
Somebody else brought this up and swapping topics. Joel is falling apart at this point because of the life he has had to live. Tommy is mentioned at looking healthier because of the life he is currently living. He has something to live for and is in a safer environment.
Joel and Ellie thru both games move in the same direction. But violent.
Nice foreshadowing.
Aye agreed that 'thin ice' comment was missed, but trading it out for Joel's nightmare scene was a dub. Great react!
I think the spoiler thing is for people that have waited for it to come to PC which is next month...which doesn't make sense because if they are watching the show it's literally spoiling the game. You can't win lol
That’s our horse Shimmer. RIP
it's callus shimmer doesn't die until tlou 2
I love and appreciate your reactions! THW the haters, you do YOU!!😊
Fall started at the end of episode 3 and concluded at the end of episode 5.
Great episode and great show
Bro.....seeing Sarah fade killed me and ellie bonding 😢 I gotta play this game again
7:27 dina??!!!!
i think the "everybody loved contractors" is partly cuz ykno he can make up whatever he wants like ellie said he could just lie, but also, Jesus Christ was a contractor so like, I think he was also doing the whole, maybe im lying but it aint really a lie lol
The guy who got the broken piece of the bat stabbed Joel after Joel grabbed and pushed him to the tree. 18:44
Joel and ellie with a powerhouse here.. ooof 😢
Awesome
Alberta…..😮I mean Wyoming or Colorado looks Fantastic
From where the show has gone since episode six, it has been hitting right in the feels since the beginning, truly wouldn't changed a thing about it. The way how both Neil and Craig brought Tommy's and Maria's Jackson to life was done so damn well, plus with the actors delivery of their lines kept making great impacts, especially in the scenes with Joel opening up to Tommy and Ellie's bedroom scene when Joel tells her he has to leave her. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, "the vibes are strong with these ones."

The emotion was so heartbreaking and emotional best episode of the series 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔
I would love to see a blind reaction with season 2. Maybe even a gameplay but only after you’ve watched it. Am interested to see if it hits different
10:35 it's a menstrual cup Mell
Omg I just realized what happened to the people on the ISS
Yeah that’s what I said in the game Maria is white but this is 2023. The actress Maria was also on True Blood.
Please give STAR TREK a chance. You don't have to watch everything! Maybe: top ten Classic episodes = Star Trek 1 to 6 = top ten "The Next Generation" episodes = Star Trek 7 to 10 = the three J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies? 🖖
yess, truu yenn. people getting mad of spoilers but should've just watch the series on their own instead of gamers reacting to the series ?? but ehk whatever
that was Dina alright!
I’ve never played the game so will this next steam for the game be long af since they skipped fall ??
Don't need a explanation this is good
Love the outfit man
Mell, where can we see you live stream while playing the game? I went to the twitch account, but it says you haven't livestream for months lmao and I'm a newbie with platforms, have no idea where to go. Thanks in advance!
I'm streaming here for the moment
@@HelloMellowXVI oh ok thanks, I'm gonna try and see it next time! X
7 is gonna be Left Behind DLC.
Excellent
The game has been out for ages. People have no right to whine about "spoiling the game"
