@@cotton6330 Same. That’s a criticism of the movie that I haven’t seen- tear-jerking scene didn’t reach full potential. My criticism is that they didn’t make the audience cry enough, lol-

Fun fact: Nezha is a person from Chinese legends and there is an entire movie on Nezha, but just not in the same timeline. It's a completely different story, where the surroundings and culture are more traditional and of the olden days. However, Nezha still maintains the same hairstyle and the same feisty attitude as a character overall. There's two movies of him, Nezha and Nezha Reborn, however I haven't watched the second movie yet, so I'm not sure if the two are connected. You can go check it out since it has been released for a while already, if you haven't watched it yet. I really recommend it due to the story, both really funny and really cool at the same time.
When I realized Nezha was in this I instantly remembered him cuz of jttw, lmk and his movies along with character and I actually didn't expect him to be there but it was fun to find out!
Fight scenes were so captivating that my nephews were stuck paying attention to the movie they didn't want to see, it was funny watching them w their mouths open in awe. The other movies that got them like that was Spirited Away and Ponyo lol
fun fact: there's a cartoon of the same name by the same creator that's really cute, as well as a comic that's a sort of prequel to the series and has a few of the same characters as the cartoon, including Wuxian. The comic's name is Lanxi Zhen. Absolutely would recommend checking those out.
One thing that I don't like about the English version is that spirits/Yokai are often referred to as "monsters" and that the names were changed but I love this movie, regardless of the language it is in
@Andhowdoesthatmakeyoufeel But both exist in christian religion though... I think its a combination of that and also just not understanding what they are in the context of belief, I suppose it could also be that not everyone would know what Yokai are but you would eventually figure it out or just accept thats what they are called
I found this movie through a random clip I saw on twitter and I now love it and the series. Edit: I would say that Fengxi Is a bad person overall. He manipulates Hei into joining by controlling humans to attack him and then saving him, he derails a train just to distract Wuxian(which I guess you could argue he did know that Wuxian would save those humans therefore he didn't really intend to hurt them, but counterpoint he did turn over a train in the flashback with no such motive I guess?). He also plans to trap and control the entire human area or force them out, even his final act could be seen as a last middle finger to the humans and even if its not I really don't see it as an apology besides the literal apology to Hei. Also I think he knows what he is doing is wrong unlike some other, more grey, villains that believe what they are doing is right. The ends don't justify the means. Unless of course, your name is Noximilian the Clockmaker. One final thing that I'm not sure Fengxi knew but I wanted to mention is that the humans likely didn't know they were pushing him and his friends out of their home while he intends to do the same intentionally. And that's why I don't think that Fengxi was a good person
He is not good or bad i think. For the first time yes,he manipulates Hei,but also i don't think he was careless about him. He wanted to do this with no harm to him at first, but then, when Hei changed,he decides to do bad choice, because "He went too far to stop on this". I think Fengxi is angry not only because of "Sheesh, they destroyed all forest",but also "This was our place of living, people came and started live therezwe were okay with that, but then we got this,we don't have our own place to live free and need to be in secret because of them. WE was the spirits, who lived there and that's our Territory, and we were abonded to live like this and don't show ourselves". For Fengxi and his friends it's doubled(for him specialy) cus they are forest spirits,i mean,he literally do tree magic. But as yoy said,he doing bad things. He have a point, but this point have unhealthy sight on things and it doesn't changed even after his thoughts
Oooh. I watched this movie a while ago and didnt quite understand how domains worked. But now I watched Jujutsu Kaisen, and i realize its basically domain expansion, but LoH's is literally their soul space.
If you haven’t seen the series but want to know what happened to Fengxi’s friends after all of this scenarios in the movie, well, there isn’t much info but we do know the Louzhu is working with the flower girl elfin, Tianhou living a normal life, and… Xuhuai… I think he’s still depressed after the loss of Fengxi
I only watched this movie once (and I love it) and when Stormend(Fengxi) met Hei, I had so much hope for him. But he gave me the weirdest vibes 😕 like he was nice and all but... it was one of those IDK feelings. Then Infinity( Wuxian) came along and started to fight everybody and take Hei away. I immediately thought Wuxian was a bad guy. Cuz I mean what're you gonna think if someone trys fighting people who took you in, and then try to kidnap you. In the movie I didn't know who the bad guy was. And thats one of the things I loved about this movie.

Marvelous review and I am glad you get a kick out of the Prequel movie. You will certainly love the Web Series since the show contains a lot of Easter Eggs saluting various Anime and Donghua (Chinese Anime). I personally would call beings like Xiaohei, Fengxi as (Chinese) Yokai. Yokai is Japanese pronunciation of Yaoguai due to the similarity (lingo & culture) of the two. Wuxian (Hei's sifu) is Xian-ren (Immortal human or something like that). That way it'd be easy to introduce this concept to people who don't know Chinese mythology. Sifu is "Master". Its no different to the relationship between Qui-Gon x Obi-wan or Obi-wan x Anakin or Anakin x Ahsoka. There's a mentor & family factor between their relationships. FYI. Hei is about 6 or 7 years old in the prequel and he is over 10 in the Web series. And... you can consider their world is our Current Time... due to the things Hei do with his human friends.
haven't watch the video yet but i realised something, in the beginning when Hei was being chased by the humans, hei heard them and hid inside a box, and what made this scene strange to me was the fact the humans knew exactly which box he hid in, i also payed close attention to the way humans looked (Physical appearance) and noticed that their eyes seemed dull but payed no mind to it. When Hei was trapped between the dead end and humans, hei turned into the big furry monster and noticed that humans were not fazed in the slightest as too see something bigger and stronger than them. Instead no emotions nothing and they were lifted up and dragged away by something (Tree branches?). Later on in the story when they introduced us to the other characters and their powers it all made sense. The character A-He caught my attention as well as his abilities. Fengxi planned out everything, have A-He control them and pretended to help Hei when the humans wasnt even a threat at all. So all in all Fengxi knew from the beginning that hei possessed the domain powers even before wuxian. Loved this animation tho i wish there were more like it.
I just watched it, and it makes me wanna make a fight scene of my own, ngl It was sad when Fung Xi turned himself into a forest, cause Hei looked like he still wanted to be friends with him

In Chinese culture, the relationship between a master (师父, shīfu) and a disciple is very similar to that of a parent and child. A master isn’t just a teacher of skills; they guide their student in morals, ethics, and personal growth. When Hei calls Infinity 'Master,' it’s almost like calling him 'Father,' showing deep respect and a heartfelt bond. If you don't know this already this is a prequel to a web series and season 2 of the web series actually has a lot of the characters in the movie in it. (season 1 mainly revolves around Hei being trapped in his cat form.
You might have missed it but the attack on Xiao hei's home forest at the beginning as well as the human attack on him at the beginning of the movie, were staged by Feng xi's team..
I got the 2nd one but did,'t get the 1st one..how did he ruin the forest of hei??was that forest perhaps the same forest where feng xi took hei to after rescuing him?
@@ubu8 well it’s just that realistically, when ppl cut down and forest with bulldozers, they don’t shot everywhere with guns and there is no magical cave in that suddenly happens for the hero to fall in.. it’s the surrealism of the situation that made me think it was also staged to make xiao hei hate humans instead of waiting for humans to give him a good reason themselves
@@renarddubois940 i just rewatched the movie today and noticed alot of the details i missed the first time...but the thing i still don't understand is when or how did feng xi know of hei's power..it really did look like the begining scene..of cutting down the forest was done by feng xi ..and those poeple that were chasing after hei in the begining looked to be under mind control..so that would mean that feng xi was already after hei from the begining..i initially thought he learned abt hei's power after he brought him to his forest
@@ubu8 my best guess is that someone on Feng xi's team have the ability to identify ppl's powers and is very good at pinpointing their location once he's felt their presence once.. (probably the ice dude with horns)

Can't believe this exist years ago. I've recently discovered the train scene in tiktok. It's like a combination of Spirit away, jujutsu kaisen & journey to the west. A masterpiece storytelling, animation & creativity.
If you don't know this already this is a prequel to a web series and season 2 of the web series actually has a lot of the characters in the movie in it. (season 1 mainly revolves around Hei being trapped in his cat form.
I didnt even watch this yet im tearing up 😭😭
I just watched it yesterday and the last scene had me crying so hard - they were so soft 😭😭😭😭💕
I agree just watched it yesterday and it is amazing
Just by the voice of the characters it reminds me of heavens official blessing especially wu xien
Awesome video!
i dont know why but when wu xien screams Feng Xi it just does something to me like ahhh yes
I believe 4:45 is a reference to the 1979 nezha film (scene is at 47:40 ruclips.net/video/Z0SKGg8xOPs/видео.html) which was part of many Chinese people's childhoods
not to mention.. it's a cute review

When Arknights announced this collab, I'm curious.
I watched the original web series, the movie and now I'm planning to read Lanxi Town, the prequel of the movie.
I like it, and now I'm curious for the Arknights collab story (which tbh, the tone of the story of Arknights is darker than that the collab).
i must see this movie thanks for showing me
Usually the ghosts will just be in the right and that's that. This is nice.
Okay, I will watch the movie and come back here then.
I think 19 days author and a few more authors from the same company as 19 days author participated in this movie's art and story
16:48 "the music just kicks you in thw balls and makes you tear up man"
if Lucian can fly and carry stuff with metal why did he need a raft?
Just wanted to say I watched ya reviews and legit watched the movie and the web series right away and now I can't stop watching it.... I'm addicted to it!! Someone pls help me cause I already watched like five times in a row now 😃😃
Is it on netflix ?
Now, Ik that I am late, but in the second season of the web series, we see the cool side character working with the flower monster at her flower boutique. SHIP!
If you liked this, you should watch Scissor Seven. It's a quirky Chinese anime with it's own style, it's not anime but something unique and special.
