  • Randy Wistoff, executive director and CEO of the Kansas City Zoo, feeds Zara the serval cat. Wistoff said her legs are slender and her claws sharp, so its easy for her to reach the meat she’s being fed.

1:56 Not an ultra fast runner? Servals are the second fastest cats on the planet at about 60 mph that’s freeway speed! All so I love how they try and make it seem so bad to keep an animal as a pet like that guy is got some special power, it’s a cat. And the truth is serval numbers in the wild are diminishing because they are such a small animal most eventually die as dinner for a cheetah in the wild and if it wasn’t for people these cats would have already gone extinct. If you want a serval you need to provide a shelter like the zoo or rehabilitation center that’s all these cats need is a huge back yard that they can’t get out of and they will have a much better life then if they were in the wild to become dinner for some other even bigger cat. Look it up. Serval = house cat on steroids.
