- DAISY IS BACK AFTER 56 YEARS WITH A MESSAGE AND A NEW EP
DAISY were formed in 1968 in the Summer of Love by two of Aarhus’ most renowned musicians, Poul Erik Veigaard and Flemming Walsøe. Musical maestro was Frank “Okla” Lorentzen who taught me a great deal, and it was in DAISY I got my musical education.
In 1969 DAISY went on a 2-month tour to Israel under Haim Saban, who many years later became one of Hollywood’s most industrial tycoons. The tour was very much instrumental in me, as 18 year old, reconnecting with my Essene heritage. But the tour also included a week's stay in Abu Kabir, Israel's harshest prison, due to possession of weed. Immediately after the Israel tour, DAISY, as the first Danish band, was to play at the Marquee Club, Mothers and Speakeasy in London. But due to the jail-time, the band had to stay an extra month in Israel to compensate for the cancelled jobs, and therefore could not fulfill our London contracts. Somehow it was not meant to be.
In 1970 DAISY launched their first single “Lucifer/Zimmermann”, produced by Jack Frithjof, on the Aarhus record label, Circle Records. The song was chosen as ‘Single of the Week’ by DJ Tony Prince on Radio Luxembourg, without comparison the hottest radio station in Europe at the time. It happened at the same time that Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple was releasing singles. But illness in the band put an end to the opportunities that the Radio Luxembourg ‘Single of the Week’ resulted in, with offers from Pye Records in London and Polydor in Germany.
DAISY is a unique brotherhood and has always been. As our drummer, Mr. Madsen says: “It started with DAISY, and it ends with DAISY”. We are now back after 56 years with a new single “Star”, a ballad, a prayer celebrating human beings, reminding us that we are already enlightened beings, and that we’ve got great gifts to save this world. Remember, we are always connected to the Great Spirit of the Cosmos.

People often ask me what it is with the hat I am sometimes wearing. It is a medicine man’s hat made by Colorado Mountain Hat Company in 2013. The hat band is made by Oglala Sioux Indians and has a significant, deep meaning to me.

edit; I did find a Daisy 1969 recording. Any Daisy recordings from the '60s & '70s? I looked on RUclips and didn't find.
@elisabethseaton6521: There is a Daisy LP called "The Lonesome Brigade" from the mid-seventies, but I'm not sure if there are any songs from it on the Internet. As far as I know, the band were not too happy with the recordings. You can also look for the band Warm Guns, there are a couple of videos on RUclips.
