As a Dredge main, I have one small rule of my own: If I'm hooking a surviours (or getting totally steamrolled) - then I'm getting into a locker by pressing Ctrl so the surviours could see this. And staying there for the rest of a match if I was destroyed during it and the exit gates are open with no chance on more hooks. Getting into a lockers by dredge manually is a rare thing (cause... there is no reason for that) so it's either looks like "Well, that's it, I don't want to play with you anymore" gesture or (as I hope) just slightly lifts the mood of the guy I've just hooked.

    • @BluMacaw
      @BluMacaw 2 месяца назад +6

There is a good reason to get into locker as a Dredge, a very clever form of camping near a hook. Now you can't tp into those lockers, but you can still manually enter them. It's actually pretty good and I think unexpected. I'd just recommend to not tunnel afterwards and go for the unhooking person, it's a bit toxic tactic either way. I wonder if anti camping meter fills like that though.

But there's nothing stopping them from doing it, and it's the risk you take when playing with people on the internet. Run into a lot of the selfish a-holes.

Bring perks that help with survivor carry, such as "Agitation" (speed increased while carrying) and "Iron Grasp" (harder for survivors to wiggle out), these will help you actually reach the basement from much further away.

I guess the thing to do would be play someone who has an easy time ending chase - a skilled Singularity can catch up whenever they want, Nurse is obvious, Chucky can dash, just anyone who can close that final distance real easily.
For setup, you'd probably want to build into this, use Iron Grasp to lengthen the amount of time you have to get to hook, get yourself several sources of haste, Mad Grit could be useful if you're lucky enough to run into a super altruistic group. Anything to give you the ability to be more picky with your hooks. Probably also want to use Bloody/Torn Blueprint just to get the guarantee.
After that, unfortunately, it's just all about waiting for your opportunity. Gotta always down survivors as close to the basement as possible, and ABSOLUTELY play kinda rude to make sure you're securing kills.
Try to push chase to the building with the basement as much as possible, make sure you can end chases nearly on demand, and make ending chase near basement priority one. This one is absolutely a nightmare. It's as much luck as skill, but make no mistake, it takes both.

    2) If I'm in chase and I see someone on a Gen nearby, I try to stir away the killer from that gen so that it can be completed.
    Killer:
    1) If one person DCs, the bot gets tunneled out of the game.
    2) If at least one person DCs, and I play well enough that only one survivor remains, last survivor gets hatch.

    My rules:
    1. Count hook stages so I don't death hook someone on accident. Use icons on left to see which survivor it was if you're not sure.
    2. Don't hook the same survivor twice in a row. Only exception is if they try to endurance-block, because they want attention and are not on death-hook.
    3. If two survivors are present, chase the one with less hook progress.
    4. "Warn" death-hook survivors that you're coming by using a non-damaging or missed projectile (if applicable to killer. Unknown, Trickster and Cenobite are especially great for this).
    5. Window whiff or get pallette stunned by death-hook survivors.
    6. Use perks that give lots of map info or aura to help track survivors and keep them from getting complacent while also helping you avoid them if they seem to need a break.

Hey, I do the same! Trying to make it more entertaining than a sweat fest.
Additionally, my favorite thing to do lately is go undetectable, then break down a door where I know survivors are on the other side. Even if it's less advantageous for securing a hit and opens a path for the survivors to use now, it feels so cinematic and in character, and hopefully more thrilling for the survivors to get a jump scare.

But I like the challenge so whenever I see a ttv especially a toxic one I will sometimes even throw the game to kill them because I enjoy showing tryhard ttvs and their audience that they aren't as good as they think so the never tunnel a ttv rule is actually a always tunnel a ttv in my games

    My unwritten rules:
You may tunnel: Tea baggers, sand baggers and bots.
If a player manages a near impossible play (ex: Drops a palette in a way that holes you, after having dropped a flashbang in the hole so it blinds you) let them reset.
If a fellow survivor does something stupid, you also stare at them in disbelief.
If a ghostface or pig crouches at you repeatedly, crouch back. You are now best friends.
If you are a ghostface or pig, and a survivor drops everything they are doing just to crouch at you- You must release them, or even decide to bloodpoint farm instead of playing normally. You are now best friends.
If you are myers, you must first chase laurie. If you are wesker or nemesis, you must chase Ada, Leon, Rebecca, or Chris. If you are pyramid head, you must chase cheryl. Etc.
And lastly, if a survivor I slugged and left (I commonly do this when a survivor is stupid, gets sandbagged, gets map fucked, or anything else I take pity on) is left on the ground to die, I pick them up, let them wiggle off, and tunnel all other remaining survivors for being jerks.

Good rules about giving nods to other players, but there's also something especially fun about switching between fast nods and slow head shakes "no" between other players. Also, sometimes if my team all spawned around a fire barrel, we start the match having a fire barrel ritual of some kind until the killer shows up. (Crouching and/or pointing at it, everyone walks around in a circle, playing the Lute, etc.)
Oh, and if you're on a map with stalls or store fronts and its a 1v1, I always play customer and clerk (E.g. Ormond, Knight's Map) if the other person seems like a good sport about the match. Just these small things to boost spirits when some matches can feel so harsh.

Those are some interesting morals I have seen, thanks for sharing it ^-^ I do have some additional unwritten rules on my morals with what I do:
    As killer:
    1) If I chase a survivor A, who is about to reach a pallet/window but suddenly survivor B appears to block it (intentional or not)... I then switch target as it would feel unfair for survivor A especially if he/she played well against me.
    2) When there is a 3-gen situation that cause all 3 gens too easy for me to patrol while I did bad against them. I intend to go for 8 hooks and let the survivors go so we all can move on, cause I feel just getting those kills feels undeserved xD
    3) If I see a survivor afk from the start of the match, I ignore it for few minutes... But if he/she is afk for more than 5 minutes while the other three are struggling, I lose interest in match and grab the AFK survivor. Bringing it to the other survivors so we can treat that AFK survivor as BP Pinata while letting them go (except for the AFK one depending on the situation) at the end.
    4) This is bias side of mine... when I see a Cheryl in their team, if they manage to unhook her from 2nd hook, ALL get a free escape since I love Cheryl's!
    As survivor:
    1) If a killer decides to help me getting the hatch, but it takes too long to find it then I rather let him/her hook me cause I feel bad wasting the time of the killer...
    2) When I see my teammates mocking the killer relentlessly in random queue... I would offer myself to have the killer some points from me, cause I feel that pain as killer too sometimes :(
I may have some more in the future who knows x)
