QQQ - What do I need/how can I modify a gas class A with 500lbs tung weight up to 800lbs? This subject is always skipped completely - I can't find info anywhere on Tung Weight Options. I want to use a motorcycle carrier on a class A motorhome but 500lbs is pushing it, especially with a carrier being nearly 100lbs by itself. It seems class A tung weights group by Gas or Diesel with Diesels set up for 10x the capacity. Gas I see between 300-500lbs with 500lbs being most common, and Diesels seem to range from 3,000-6,000lbs with 5,000lbs being most common. I totally understand a Large Towing Weight difference between Gas and Diesels, I do Not understand why Gas class A Tung Weights are maxed at 1/10 the load capacity of Diesel class A???
Switching a fifth wheel trailer over to gooseneck is a big no-no. Switching out your fifth wheel pin box in anyway is one of the major contributors to frame flex. Please review big truck, big RV channel in reference to Libert and frame flex!
Do the RV manufacturer and/or the trailer frame manufacturers approve using the goose neck hitches? Nonapproved hitches can cause frame damage. Just asking, love your videos.
They were never designed to have a gooseneck hitch. If they were designed to they would come from the factory with one 🤷🏻♂️😉 Just take a look at a gooseneck deck over trailer. The extra triangle gussets that are used. Proofs the point of in which RVs are not designed for.
I have some more thoughts about Frame Flex. When I buy anything, I learn and understand what it is suppose to do and not do. I don't use a screw driver as a chisel. I don't use my RV in ways it was not built for like putting a bunch of batteries in the front along with a ton of other heavy items. So many RUclipsrs have done this for solar, plus likes and more subscribers without informing their viewers about the weight problem and possible other problems this will cause. You don't buy a 1/2 ton pickup to pull a 16,000 lb. RV and then go to the truck manufacturer and complain because your truck broke!!!!!!!!!! You guys are great, I've been watching you for over a year.
If you have the time check out the manufacturer named Northwood, they makes all of their own frames they do not purchase the frames from a third-party as far as I can tell they have not had any problems with frame flex or frame failure and they are very well insulated also which to me is very very important when I start looking for another trailer that is the company I am going to purchase from
