Michael, good video but please add more details about places in between . . . I plan to do same trip in 2024 June in the opposite direction with family. I will be visiting from US . . . never driven a car in Europe but looks like there is no good train alternative in that part of the world and I will be renting a car.

Hi there is a train route which takes almost the exact same route. Let me know from where to where you want to go and I'll fill you in.

Thank you for the prompt response. Actually I was thinking of going from Venice, Italy to Bavarian Alps ideally to Garmisch-Partenkirchen but if that is not possible then to Munich.@@bavarian_globetrotter

From Venice, you can take a EuroCity train via Verona, Rovereto, Trento, Bolzano, Bressanone, Fortezza, and Brenner to Innsbruck. There, you can either continue straight to Munich on the same train via Jenbach, Wörgl, Kufstein, Rosenheim, and Munich East, or you can change to a local train (RB 6 towards Munich) in Innsbruck and head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
There is plenty to see along this route, and if you have time, I highly recommend spending some time in the Bolzano area for hiking. They also offer excellent food. Let me know if you would like more information!
