Brilliant video son, what a day you had. Great tutorial for all your regular viewers describing flies, lines and methods that everyone can understand what’s happening, looking forward to your next video son hopefully our next outing to Swanswater.👍🎣🎣
Thanks Mike. Yeah I definitely want to spend more time there for sure, and as you say I could even take the kids up to the smaller waters. Great venue.
First few casts there it looked like you nicked a fish from right under that fella's nose! Almost casting to the other bank. Really enjoying the videos, great job mate
Haha, it looks like that on camera but the angle is deceiving, there was plenty space. Although it was actually my dad so I can assure you he would have given me pelters if that was the case! 😂Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
Great video mate, always good to see what other anglers are fishing with and how. Always wanted to try Kinross, looks great. Think I’ll take the trip up soon.
Superb made always look forward to a new video! I was wack at rosslynlee last Sunday got 4 but only got a 2 kill ticket great day though I really like that fishery

Great videos.👍 I'm heading up to menteith ( I know you're a fan) on Tuesday, will these tactics work up there? I'm new to still water fishing. Keep the videos coming. 👍🎣
Absolutely - dry fly can be magic up there, but these tactics can be used to great effect anywhere, and if they are not chasing and prefer static, swap the blob for a booby and fish super slow 👍🏻🎣
Great video 👍 have you ever tried the floating line from Troutflies UK? Bought one the other day and tested it yesterday. Fantastic line. On sale for £18
Thanks Benjamin! Never tried it, and I’ve heard of a few budget floaters getting good reviews recently, which can only be good news for us anglers! Might buy a few to do a review or something on the channel.
Hi Chris. Loving the videos. My local fisheries in the Bristol area, which are suposedly renowned for boat fishing have at least 10 feet of thick weed out from the bank summer through to autumn which, if your bank fishing is a menace. Apart from simply not bothering what would you do ?
Cheers Jim! Hmmm…well I’d personally be out on the boat if that was an option! Trouble is landing the fish, so increase leader strain. If the weed is very bad, then dry fly or bung fishing would probably be the easiest, save snagging weed constantly if retrieving 👍🏻🎣
Thanks Chris. That's about the size of it I'm afraid. It seems to have gotten a lot worse in the last few years. Maybe they were clearing it more before the pandemic. Cheers
What’s your set up mate? Rod, Reel and line? Looks like it’s casts nice and smooth. I’ve just bought 2 greys gr60’s 9’6 #6w and a 10’ #7w with 2 greys gts600 reels, I fish mainly still waters and I’m Regretting the 10ft 7w….. it’s heavy. I’ll have to give it some use on the reservoirs. The line doesn’t half fly off Your rod and reel
Hi mate. Both rods are vision onki rods (love them), one in a 9’6 6 weight and one in a 10’ 7 weight. Both reels are hardy ultralite asr and using an orvis pro floating line. I mainly use the 7 weight for intermediate / sinking lines or bung on smaller waters, but as you say it’s good on the larger waters.
@@TheTroutFlyFisherman thanks for getting back to me mate! Appreciate that. I thought they may have been the Onki Rods based on the colour, it’s very distinctive. I toyed with the Stillimaniac rods and reels a bit …… we’ll see how I get on wit these for a bit. Keep the videos coming, I’ve pick up a loads of tips and they’re making a difference to my catch rate. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
Good video m8 kinross is a gr8 venue u should try the float tubing up there 1st time on it is free just pay ur day ticket 😁 cant beat it brilliant way to fish 😎🎣
Cheers Dazz - I’ve fished plenty on boats but never a float tube. May well give it a go as I do fancy it. There was a guy out on Baxter the day I was up and he was doing well 👍🏻🎣
@@TheTroutFlyFisherman been out there a few times my self m8 its a gr8 way to get them dont get flies caught in bushes either and u can get them fish that hide between pegs lol me and my dad learned it up there then bought our own never looked back 😎 get a leg workout and fish at the same time in a seat 🤣
I take my own floatube to woodburn and harelaw now another 2 good waters woodburn has monster fish good wen u get a hold of one on a tube nice to get towed about 😂
This guy must eat more fish than an Edinburgh zoo penguin! Do the decent thing and keep one and return all the others. Help keep the stocks up in the fishery . Don't be greedy.
What a strange comment, I kept 4 fish. Which is the max, and because it was a club competition. If you speak to fishery owners the problem in keeping healthy fish stocks is actually too much catch and release only. They need a turnover in fish stock. Read up a bit more before assuming greed and selfishness. It’s simply so far off the mark.
Fished that place once last Autum, was not impressed with the idiots in float tubes who steam into your area when you've hit a few fish. Out of order and pretty shoddy behaviour to be honest.
That's not the norm, I fish there from the tube most weekends, bank anglers are meant to get priority, Other members and regulars all know this rule. It might have been non regulars not giving due consideration. it does go the other way too though, I was getting in the water a couple of weeks ago and a bank angler was shouting at me about invading his space, his reaction was way over the top as it was only for a moment while I paddled out from the bank, aside from getting air dropped in I can't think how I could have avoided it.

Probably one of the most underrated trout small stillwaters in Scotland if not the UK.
