I think the reason why nobody is questioning Ragnars judgement here is because so far his plans have always worked. He's basically a magician that whenever they are in a tough spot and doomed to fail he always manages to pull an ace out of his sleeve and win the day. Even Harald and his brother who are Ragnars rivals respected him too much to question him, and they have only heard about his succes unlike his own people who has actually seen it time after time themselves.
Especially after the last raid on Paris when everyone else plans failed and thousands got slaughtered. Then come Ragnar who without getting a single man killed managed to get the Franks themselves to open the gates for them and let them straight into the city. A man that can pull that off is not exactly a man you question. They are basically seeing him as a genius and therefore trusts him.
It may look stupid of the vikings to rush in but if you have never seen or heard about the thing (the trap with the line that raised on the river) before then obviously you are not gonna be concerned about such a thing and just try to sail through. Just like how the last time they got caught of guard with the crossbows because they had never seen them before.
