Another great video! And I couldnt agree more about taking out the headphones and enjoying chairlift conversations! Everyone always has an interesting story to tell!
Absolutely love your suggestion to take out the earbuds and have a lift conversation! A couple decades ago, I rode the lift at Banff with a couple guys who spoke German; and even though I don't speak German, we had good conversation in both languages.
Hey fellow MidWest rider! Bumped into your stuff today and happy I did! I don’t know about you, but I’m geeking about this early season man. Where’s your home mountain?
Matthew Zabransky we are located around the northern Ohio area. We typically ride Michigan or New York slopes. We have some places in lower MI that are about an hour away and 300 vertical feet, if we venture 3-5 hours out, we end up around the 500-750 vertical foot mark. You def don’t need a huge mountain to have a good time, just bring friends, drink up, and enjoy the sport. Giving you a follow man so I can keep in touch with you and your content, show some love back if you wanna, if not, no biggie, keep rocking my dude!
Agree with your suggestion and the comments - I never wear ear buds. Engage in conversation with anyone and everyone on the chair, or on the hill! Look forward to seeing you on the slopes and at Joe Riders!
Love what you are saying about looking at the hill. You have to discover something every time you ski a run. Don’t just go down as fast as you can straight down the middle. Think about exactly which part of a run you want to do on the lift if u can see it. Feel out where snow is best......under the chair, along the edge. Or, catch that dip, carve into that compression. Or, I’m doing big swooper turns this time, or small slalom turns.....or I’m going to that little corner..... I mean, I don’t jump anything but that is how I think about each run.
Exactly! I (I’m sure similar to you) can ski the same run hundreds of times with a fresh approach. People get so caught up the the size and stats they forget- it’s what you make of it that matters :) Cheers!
that key toss was on Point!! Yes chairlift convos are the best, this year will be interesting to ssay the least
#2 for sure! Take the ear buds out and open up the senses.

You probably would have better off cutting a few hours off your trip, and brought your golf clubs to poach a lake geneva course.
