Thank you for such great learning videos. I realize they door hinge video was old. More light would have been helpful. I learned so much and am going to download the book you mentioned when I get home.
I hope this home is on the National Historical Registry so that some idiot like Pia Zadora and her husband don't buy it, tear it down, and replace it with some modern piece of garbage. Being a Cad guy, I'd love to have a copy of the original drawings.
Gary, I’m to sure if your travels will head you back through Lexington, KY but if you can squeeze in another sojourn, The Shaker Village in Pleasant Hill is one of the most inspirational studies of Shaker design and function. Highly recommend a visit there.
Roy, I won’t make it on this trip, that’s for sure. I drive up the Atlantic coast, stopping at about 10 different homes, then, once I get to Marblehead, MA I head west to Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake, and home. Maybe next time! :)
I’ve lived in middle Tennessee all my life and walked through so many gorgeous antebellum oblivious. At 45 I would be in awe in that house. It’s an honor to have the great Gary Katz visit the volunteer state. Good stuff
What a great interest you have! Carry on Sir!
Fantastic attic...
The roof covering is a bit of a shame!
What was the original roof?

My idea of Georgian is often incorrectly mixed with Neoclassical, so thank you for explaining this pure Georgian example.
Ahhhhhhh, thank you! For making the whole task worthwhile. Your comment is all it took. We’ll get to neoclassical later.
Thank you Gary for your appreciation of these architectural works of art 👍
