Hi. It's quite common for people get stuck in a bit of a rut once they've learned the basics. Certainly working on your single note playing will help when it comes to things like There She Goes, which requires quite a bit of pick control. If you're an acoustic player you might like to look for songs which go beyond basic strumming and include some arpeggios, or melodies. Or you could specialise a little bit and try some fingerstyle playing, or improv which is a good way to develop technique.

I just stumbled upon these lessons after looking for a Christmas song to learn (Christmas Time is Here). I have struggled lately because when I started playing, I went right into playing songs, joined a band, and had a few gigs. But I missed the basics and think these lessons will anchor me and allow me to better understand what I am mimicking. I now know I need to learn the basics to continue improving. Very well done and thank you.

As a person who plays the piano and Saxophone. Scales have been drummed into me for years. Cords do not exist on the saxophone but exist on the piano. Then only as a group of notes to be played together. I read sheet music. I have been looking to relate my piano and saxophone playing to the acoustic guitar following your lessons.
    Scales are the answer.
I have been watching and practicing your other videos on fingering of chords and wondering how to apply them to sheet music and playing from sheet music.

Thank you Adrian. I forsee me understanding this in the not so distant future. I've watched your videos for so long and thirst for your Telecaster. It's beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time and making the effort you do to produce such a pleasing video with a clear goal. Thanks again.

Maybe a strange question to ask, but where did you get that fantastic cardigan? Thanks for all the great lessons by the way. I’m learning a lot

Thanks Adrian. This was another good lesson. I have a question as a person who has been learning at home via YT for some time now. After learning the basic strums, the open chords and a few barre chords, I seem to have hit a wall. I can play most of the campfire stuff but I wonder what the next step is. Should I be aiming for the melodies? I still struggle with playing the individual notes (a good example is the opening melody to "There she goes" by the LA's.
