This story reminds me of my first ride in an airplane. There were 3 of us in the 10th grade (1950). I loved planes and talked my two friends Cruz and Manuel to go watch planes at a local airport. On a whim, I decided to approach a pilot working on his plane and ask him what it would cost to take us on a ride. We had about $6-7 between us. The pilot grinned and agreed to take us up for a short ride. It took awhile to get us up and going... we were mesmerized by the plane and preparations. This pilot knocked himself out showing us many features of our Los Angeles harbor communities. We asked him if he could show us our neighborhoods...no problem, he flew us over our homes!
I am sure the pilot was enjoying himself from the thrills we were having and instead of the 15 minutes flying, we got about 40 in the air.
We were just 3 poor Mexican-American Barrio boys out on my whim to visit an airport.
My friend, Cruz became an engineer. Manuel a HS teacher and coach. Myself, A doctoral degreed professor and social scientist. To me, that pilot did a kindness that definitely pushed me in "upwards" directions. I never got his name, but God bless his memory whoever he was.
p.s. I am now 88 yrs old retired well with my 88 yo wife that I married at age 20. We had 3 wonderful kids and despite age related health issues, are as happy as humming birds among our flowers. Thanks for reading.
No, thank YOU for sharing this story. :)

No thank you for your story. It’s a wonderful one Glad you’ve reached days days of wonder in your 80s. I’m 72 and hope I’m around for an older healthful age as yourself
крутая история
You just made me cry happy tears! That’s a wonderful story, thank you for sharing it! As you wrote it, it sounds like so far you’ve had a life that’s full and beautiful, though probably also with some struggles and times of darkness, but it’s amazing to hear about lives like this. To know that kind of thing exists. I hope you and yours are all still as happy as hummingbirds, and continue to be.
Love when a child feels that kind of joy. All kids need to feel that.
They do awesome!
Even my cold dead heart melts to see a child smile and laugh like that.
882952 I have to agree with you 100%!
so is not cold and is not death !!!!!!!! it is pretty healthy !!!!!
hugz friend
I also agree. Through me experiences and my time on this earth that humanity itself has all but ruined ive become a professional at trusting nobody and hating nearly everything but yes a childs smile and laugh brings back an expression on my face that comes very seldom and its a smile.
Joseph Allan , sorry to hear about the pains you've endured.....here for you as a stranger that will not judge you or ask anything of you..... please reply.
I know this is an old video, but I had to respond. Many many years ago when I was 12 years old I had a flight in a YAK-52 as well. It was an amazing experience, also thanks to the amazing pilot that was as friendly and kind as the one in this video. This video brought back some good memories!
Its now old and I found it on RUclips, kudos to those who made this flight happen for this little girl. Inspired me to look and something for my granddaughter. Thankyou.
Lovely. I hope you did.
This made my day. I like how she keeps yawning, obviously taught how to relieve the ear pressure. What a doll, she is going to do amazing things in her life.
The Russian Yak-52 sports training aircraft was created in the Yakovlev Design Bureau in 1974 on the basis of the Yak-50 aerobatic aircraft. The Yak-52 has become the only training sports and aerobatic aircraft in the world that can train a pilot from scratch and bring him to the level of a master of sports in aerobatics.
Interesting fact: In Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, the Spitfire planes are actually converted Yak-52s
Dad did his best - gave birth to such a beautiful and courageous daughter!
Wait what. The dad gave birth to his daughter?
@@chickencurry1033 😳
That was amazing to see. You made a memory for that little girl that she will never forget. Couple of rolls, etc and don't make her sick. She's laughing about it. Very nice job on the pilot's part. Congrats to you both. Love it!
Jim Kobler thank you Jim!
The joy in her eyes brought tears to my eyes. I know this happened awhile ago and she is older now, but I can say with absolute certainty that this experience is something this young lady shall never ever forget.
God Bless her and her pilot.....🌺🌺
She is so cute! her reactions are priceless!!
Девочка молодец !!!!.👍
Никакого страха, только эмоции !!!
Сплошной позитив !!!!😎👍👍👍
Irene is certainly plucky! This is one great experience she will never forget. This was a joy to watch 👍😀
Nice comment
Yeah . First flight. First impression!. It either works, or it does not.
Yep
the world could be such a nice place... it is somewhere. Its a pleasure to watch when a kid has fun i a YAK :)))
What a beautiful experience she just had! So nice of you let her open the canopy on final. She was looking a bit peaked and that breath of fresh air did wonders! What a brave young lady! Loved it when she screamed as you kicked over the rudder at the top of the stall turn. I do the same thing and I’m a pilot!😂
You can see the expressions of pure joy on the girl's face. This is where future women pilots start.
Of course and that what they want to do...build new heroes pilots.
@SD - 06dA 790902 Ruth Thompson MS There have been female pilots from the earliest days of aviation. I see it more as a focus of an individual's interest and desire. Two of my high school teachers were pilots and the brother of one of them was an F-100 test pilot.
It’s where it builds any future pilots
@SD - 06dA 790902 Ruth Thompson MS No, it starts here, because no amount of inequality can stop a determined person form achieving their dreams...
“Do we close the window”
🤣🤣
@Jello Lue me neither by thinking asking if they close the window
Ikr
Jello Lue it’s not a “window” it’s called the canopy
@Jello Lue how
How does no one get it. Of course their going to close the window so she can’t go flying off
You gave that girl an experience of a lifetime.
And a video to refresh her memory when it fades. What a great age to be alive :)
TJ I think you read your own lust into the comments or something man. WTFBBQ?
Yep
ollopa1 has a very dirty mind. Shame on you!
Somebody should have told her the button isn't the microphone lol
She is so cute!! I had a big smile on my face watching her enjoy the flight. You can see her trying to clear her ears by yawing..
Lol....those aftermath yawn's reminds me of, if I ever needed seriously for my kids to take a nap, I would take them for a short ride in the car, & that would do the trick!😊 "This vlog is worth millions", very good!
I just have wet eyes: D. I still know how it was when I was allowed to fly with my uncle 45 years ago. You never forget something like that.
This is how pilots become immortal, they continue to live in the hearts of the children.
;;☆》♡♡♡
Children of all ages, eh?
Patrick Brun Maybe bacause putting an unexperienced young girl alone in a plane flying solo is kind of a bad idea
So very true.
I still remember when, at the age of 5, (circa 1974) I got a chance to sit inside of a Zlin 126 trainer and touch and feel the controls. Was an awesome experience. This girl will never forget those barrel rolls lol!
one of the best things EVER is seeing a child smile and giggle...
At least two nuts holding the cockpit are loose. Sorry for my english.
amen!!
Love how she yawns after the landing like 'is that it?'
That is because the canopy is open. If you have ever stuck your head out the car window you know how it feels almost hard to breath. The yawns come because the brain do not get enough oxygen for awhile and you yawn. It is not dangerous but that cause yawns. So it have nothing to do with her being tired or bored.
@@kingwacky184 Thx, I already knew that
@@kingwacky184 Oofy
Stupid moments

I did the same thing when I was a youngster and it was epic just like this I remember everything that she's going through and was so thrilling she's such a trooper as well
To those who think she was yawning she was popping the ears, up and down that quick causes pressure in your ears👍
that was fantastic to watch, she had so much fun, what a smile...
Yep
The expressions on her face were absolutely PRICELESS!!!
What a pleasant and brave girl. What an experience for a youngster!
Amazing pilot... constant contact with that little girl and reassuring. It certainly made a BIG difference for her experience. And who knows? Maybe a future pilot?
I hope so
Anyone who disliked this is a jealous person who wishes they were in a yak52
I got to go in one couple weeks ago
I smiled like crazy watching this!
Yep. OK.
Yeah same idk why..
Same
idk why but me too
Me too just smiling like am the one
What a sweet kid.
Chosen Won adorable
I wanted to cuddle her
Yep
Yep
i agree
Read over all the comments. I think the yawning was to equalize pressure on her ears.
Yep. People who comment silly things like "why would you close your eyes in that situation" or "how could you be yawning during something so exciting" are people who live in sheltered bubbles. Real life experiences have weird effects on people, deal with it.
I agree she was equalizing the pressure during the accent and decent, but after she was on the ground, she was probably coming down from a adrieneline high too. She prob had a really good nap when she finally got settled down!
Yep
Poor thing spent the next couple of hours wretching her guts into the toilet.
@@grandcelebration2233 Very unlikely. The nasal passages have to adjust with altitude changes and if they aren't completely open and free to do so, yawning is a typical way to try to relieve the sensation. She doesn't appear to have any other symptoms and was doing what people normally do. She may have even been instructed to do that in advance. In my experience with passengers the need to equalize is only occasionally and loosely correlated with any sense of air sickness and even that usually passes fairly quickly once in smooth air or on the ground.
What a great sport. The first time I did any acro, I was in my forties and I didn't handle it as well as she did. Now I like doing it, but it took me some time to get used to it. She's a trooper.
Nice...
That girl there just had the flight of her life, wow.
ruclips.net/video/2zcK1P8-iF4/видео.html
What a great opportunity for a young kid. I used to fly with my dad when I was a boy and loved it.
Priceless , for anybody in Melbourne I can recommend a ride in the VHBOB Mustang that flies out of Point Cook, that plane has some serious grunt, not cheap but what a buzz!
Irene is absolutely adorable! Imagine her anticipation of telling all her friends about this special experience that her 'Hero Dad' took her on! She also handled herself very well and her expressions were priceless!
The bar has been set! Check back in 20 years :)
I like view of Australia. I miss it.
She'll remember that her whole life!
Yep
Believe me if you have Job like a Pilot or something like that you won‘t remember every flight 😁
I know it was awesome
Kevin Loughe
Who said that ?
Such a cute video. Thanks for sharing! xoxo
Wwoow that's a awesome flight, if i was in that plane, i'll be screaming like her too😂
This girl willingly agreed to do 2 barrel rolls hundreds of feet in the air while I can't even ride a rollercoaster without screaming so hard my lungs get sent straight to hell
Lol
Lmfao u are the funniest person ive seen
Don't feel so bad . I too can't ride a roller-coaster. I get deathly I'll with nausea 🤢. Wish I could ride one if these aircraft.😪
I went with my daughter when she was 9 and there were two other kids in the plane, when we were up the pilot ask if they wanted a rollercoaster ride. Well they all said yes well we did it and the pilot ask if they wanted another one before they answered I said NO, I never rode a rollercoaster before this and my stomach is the one that really said no. LOL
Excelente ejemplo para muchas niñas de tu edad..lo haces Muy bien y te felicito amiguita..
Girl: Do we close the window
Me: What type of question is that
She is just a little girl and of course we all did this as a kid ask stipid question.
This put a huge smile on my face. What a cutie, and great sport. :)

@@Seaniiv6 lmao
such a brave and beautiful girl, so courageous indeed ! After this, everything else will be boring for her.
Or maybe not. Maybe she's going to be a pilot herself.
I really thought "hey thats a young pilot" at first
So much fun! I think she will remember that for a long time to come! Great conversation Jamie!
Yak 52 is the best Russian aircraft for this. Hello from Great Russia !!!
Александр Паялов привет
Александр Паялов hello i am from Indonesia
Rezky Zahran ohh hey
hello from Czech rep.:-)
Hello from England 🏴
I managed to fly my friend's Yak-52 once.
It was fantastic.
But not as good as the Yak-9.
But of course the Yak-52 is trainer, not a fighter.
A Soviet fighter plane like a Yak-52 is a best fighter plane of the Soviet Union
Love your RUclips handle. Nice 😊
What a heroine Irene, nothing fazes you obviously, as you couldn't stop yawning at the end of that, you're a brave young girl.
Why do you think she was yawning Peter?
Irene will remember this for along time, probably a kids dream to fly in the sky & look down at the earth and can't believe that she's doing this! when Irene gets older she'll probably tell her kids that she was in a Yak-52 Flight looking down and saw the house from up above! And her kids will probably tell all of their friends that their mother was flying in a plane and looking down!

Why anyone would give this a thumbs down is beyond me !
This kid just had the time of her life !
Good for her !!!
Hats off to the pilot who made it all possible !
Indeed. Too many jealous people on this planet. I agree with Ron as well.
calling people retarded because they dislike something you like is immature and rude. Get over it! Let people like and dislike what they want jerks
see? there's the immaturity. Calling people retards isn't gonna help anything, is it? And no, people aren't gonna like it. Especially the person your directing it to. Think about your actions. It's like I'm talking to a 3 year old! Get a life!
You're
I edited it jokes on you :p
She was absolutely brilliant!
Aww bless her so nice to watch
sweet girl. You gave her great memories for life
That video made my day - I love her smile and the pilot did a wonderful job talking through the maneuvers, engine start, etc. So glad you didn't scare her - some pilots think doing that is funny but it's also a quick way to make someone fearful of flying for the rest of their lives. I wonder if Irene is on track to become a fighter pilot now, thanks to this guy!
She's at university now !
"That was really fun, thank you!"
Wow, you're a lucky guy Jamie, so good with the kids. I hope you're continuing to give these rides. I volunteer every year at Oshkosh here in the states. Kids love planes. :) Well done.
Dr. G hey I go to EAA every year. Love it.
Oh, super. I'll definitely stop by and say Hi. Are you staying in Scholler with the other Aussies and Kiwis? I've been with the warbird section for the last 15 years. I run around the field in a golf cart and help greet and check in the arriving warbird planes, including the CJ's and Yaks. :) I'll be there all week. Send me a PM with your contact info and we'll touch base.
Usually the university. Sure send me your details to 737bip@gmail.com
I Love how she'is shy & polite.
This is one happy young lady - well done, pilot !
Cute, pretty girl! I am glad she is having such a great time..wish I can fly a Yak 50 or 52!:):)
Wish you can fly a yak -9
There was this RUclips that ride a yak 9 or yak 10 not quite sure
4:00 Fifty seconds aligned with the runway, a perfect take off.
Why thank you. Not much wind thank fully.
@@YakMan737 A perfect wind too. I'm just an amateur simulator pilot and I know how difficult it is to keep the aircraft aligned even before it leaves the runway, the more so after. It looks so easy to see you doing aerobatics.
10:30 „ok it was cool, but i am tired now, can we go home?“ 🥱

Cuteness overload!

Why she cute
Why have people clicked dislike, its a super video and thanks for sharing.
SKYFLYBRI you’re very welcome.
I know ! How bad is that :(
sick assholes ... dont pay attention !!
I would have liked to see a shot of the plane so maybe the thumbs down were for such a small detail. I smiled the whole time at such a cutie getting a ride of her life. I guarantee she'll never forget this day.
Jealousy! :o)
Isnt's she lovely :-)
These Yak's are world famous. Each pilot that has a bit of guts wants a flight. These are not "sweet" planes, these are highly responsive high power planes. You gotta keep focussed. And that is great.
They are incredible machines
Greatly appreciated congratulations 👌👌👌thrilling experience 👍
Thank you for posting this video. Really brightened up my day. Absolutely priceless!
She was smiling the whole time. Yeah, the first time you fly in a higher performance small plane is pretty mind blowing.
Watching her smile made me smile, watching her yawn made me yawn haha.
WEEE!!! That look fun.
The best thing you can do for a young child is to take them flying the freedom she felt will stay with her all her life she may even become a pilot., I did and I’m great full for the blessings of flight I got from the pilot who took the time t take me flying, I loved it so much I become a Air Force search and rescue pilot LT S.Angove
Great to hear that.
Just fantastic. It's lovely to see how much she enjoyed that.
Among all the compliments for the young sweety, not to forget the very responsible pilot who permanently had "an eye" on it, if she had still fun or if she eventually might get feared! That's the way it should be done! Very good job!
Kraftei thank you!
When I first started watching and saw you heading back I thought, that wasn't very long. But as the video progressed I realised you knew exactly what you were doing. She had, had a ball, not gotten sick and flown through a few basic maneuvers not gotten sick . Its time to head back, because If you kept flying all the adrenaline and emotions would have caught up and shed start getting a bitvwarm, then nausea would start in and she'd end the trip sick. No, your timing was perfect and she'll be excited to go again and you'll be able to take her up a bit longer.
BTW, how old was Irene when this was filmed in 2014? I figured she's about the age of my granddaughter Stalee who just turned 12. Has Irene flown more since this?
Hi there - she was 14 I believe and she had an awesome time. Thanks for your kind comments

Wow wonderful experience for a girl .... Thanks for veido
I know I am 5 years late, ( I'm always late for something) , great video of this little girl enjoying herself, I wonder how the pilots ears were after her screaming! I wonder what she is doing now, probably flying again!

She is not flying she just back seater , somebody else flying.

Do you actually think the girl is the pilot? LOL.
Just watching this makes me want to go get my PPL just one more year before I'm 17

“How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!”
