Can't wait for it all to come to barnsley, but especially look foward to having the new bowling centre and finally a cineworld in my home town of barnsley, plus a lot more shops etc nandos. Not really a nandos fan , but most town / cities have nandos and definitely cineworld's. Just hope no one wrecks it e.g. drug addicts / Away football fans (millwall)
Seems that instead of planning for the actual residents of the area to have somewhere to shop, they're attempting to make a parody tourist attraction town - I've loved in the area for years but have hardly any desire to go into the town centre for anything. I think their attitude is let's do it for tourists because they don't and won't know what it's REALLY like a d will spend money
Those pebble-dash buildings should of been pulled down the day they were commissioned! They were super drab! Only reasons for avoiding Barnsley town centre: 1. Full of crack-heads! (usually shouting) 2. No decent shops! Seems to have the essentials but not much beyond that.
Nothings changed then - still filling it with overpriced barista bars for the tuppeny millionaires... It desperately needs to cater for the average folk and have a market reputation as it once did.
Be interesting to see it all fully complete. A good music venue wouldn't go a miss.
