Mima played well in the other sets, hit some brilliant winners, and it was closely competitive. Ultimately though, I got the same impression I've had for the past 2 years: at the moment she has to flog herself and play to the limits of her core playing style to win a set. 3 or 4 hard punches and smashes to win one point, because slow and spinny usually invites death by counter-loop. She needs to lower the odds and make her controlled topspins more effective against elite Chinese opponents. A lot easier said than done.
To win against Chinese players Ito has to push herself to the brink of losing control. If she plays safe she will lose. Chinese players, on the other hand, should not play into Ito's hand. Their basic technics are better and rolling the dice with her evens out that advantage.
Show the hand shake not the audience. Every time at the end of the match the camera turns to the audience, should end the video showing the players hand shake. Incredibly senseless camera work.
