Give me strength this New Year. Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking for your blessings as a single mom. I’m raising my children with strength and courage, despite the challenges I face with my sons being autistic. Lord as I struggle to pay my rent every month and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. I ask that you bless me with your wisdom and guidance, as I navigate parenthood on my own heal my lupus and heart disease and continue to give me strength to keep going so I may watch my sons grow into men. ❤
Pray to St. Joseph to intercede and send good men to help you in your need. God will let him know what you need. St. Joseph answers prayers. I know. He has answered mine and continues to do so. I will ask him to include you today at Mass as I pray to him to help women and children in need. God bless you in your struggles, and Mary keep you. + + +
St. Joseph is also someone to whom Jesus would obey in his earthly life. Imagine the amount of trust that God the Father had in Joseph! He is someone we can totally trust as well.
I'm a relatively new convert (1 1/2 years) to the Church. I've never understood the place of St. Joseph as I do now, and it is such a blessing. As I learn more and more, and still often feel lost, I will turn to St. Joseph to help me find my way. Learning to lean on our mother Mary has been such a blessing. Having her husband as protector will help my heart feel closer to our Lord in this incredibly dangerous and confused world.
I lost my husband of 63 yrs in April & thru the years of our life together I often referred to him as my Joseph to me & our 4 children even though his name was Jim. A wonderful man who I miss so much. Thank you for such a beautiful homily❤
I have been praying to St. Joseph for a long time because he has the virtues that this world lacks...obedience and humility. He did everything God told him to do and at the same time, so humble that nothing much was said about him...if that is not obedience and humility at the highest level, I don't know what is! ST. I love St Joseph to death. I pray to him every morning and evening. And I see the importance in silence. But I also think too much silence is a bad thing. Our church is dying because we can't communicate well. I like St Joseph because he could communicate so clearly he didn't even need to use words. And I think he has something to teach us about that.
Pope Francis declared a whole year on meditating on all these qualities of St. Joseph and he is a great devotee of St. Joseph. May he intercede for us in this tumultuous time in the life of the Church.

I am so glad you picked this topic for your sermon. So many young men, quietly supporting their families, loving their children, protecting and planning for the family's future are denigrated by feminism and it's altered sense of reality. We need to support these young men and praise them for their selflessness. Like Joseph, they are a blessing to this world.
The silent example of St. Joseph in the Gospel of St. Matthew speaks volumes and gives us so much to consider, especially given what he did in the challenging circumstances of the ancient world. Perhaps his lack of words is an indication of how powerful his dreams are. It's masterful to think that the Body of Christ, the Word Made Flesh, was entrusted to him just as the mystical Body of Christ, the Church, continues to be under his care, giving us a great example of how to be a protector. I welcome them & am happy to be able to provide them a safe place to live. Even though my work hours were cut, losing my health insurance & trying to find a place to move to in the city because of the lack of housing in our village, I'm doing what I can to help them & keep them safe. St. Joseph, please pray for us. I appreciate you so much for being here !

St Joseph’s ordinary private life with Jesus and the Blessed Mother was silent in the scriptures, but it is most illustrative. He was a craftsman, a carpenter, a teacher of Jesus and a role model, a provider. Everyday was a demonstration of holiness… sanctification of Joseph’s ordinary work and his attention to details. His daily life is very instructive for ordinary people like us. Ite ad Josef!
This is an outstanding sermon (among many outstanding sermons). I became a father through adoption almost 2 decades ago, and instantly began feeling closer to St. Joseph. Today my devotion ebbs and flows, even though I need His guidance to be a proper guardian more than ever. IMHO, with the exception of those with personality disosrders who demand recognition, deserved or not, most of us serve in the above role. Likely we will die with little or no ceremony, perhaps not even a funeral. Your recommendation of prayer -- to Joseph -- perhaps will help us in a resentment-free service and obedience. Be well.

Focus on Jesus, He is the only one of IMPORTANCE! Jesus, and Him ALONE. Oh, the others have their place, but none are savior, only JESUS! Trust in Him.
Last year, I thought it was pretty neat for the Church to ask its laity to learn more about St. Joseph and ask him to intercede for humanity's families. As fractured as many families are right now, St. Joseph is a blessing for people to look to.
As a husband and father who often feels like a failure, this homily was exactly what I needed today. Thank you!

People already do in traditionally Catholic nations, though I assume you're speaking about the United States.
In England we keep Mother's Day on Laetare Sunday,which is usually close to the Solemnity of the Annunciation.
