I've been thinking about you and wondering how you're doing! That's great you were able to get into PT so quickly. I had to wait 6 weeks to even start. Hope you're able to take this time during the virus craziness to get stronger and get really comfortable walking again.
I had surgery on 5/22/24 on my Left lateral talar dome microfracture; Deltoid and ATFL repair; distal tibial osteophyte excision. I have been home bound. I had my cast removed on 6/14. I am in a boot 24 hrs a day and still using a scooter. I will see my PT on 7/3 for examination and hope. To move forward to lose the scooter and start putting weight on it. I look forward August, where Pt will be over
ugh i miss the ice rink so bad i am working on making a few workouts to keep our legs in shape need to come up with some flexibility routines, it's just not the same thoough. :(.... you've been off it for much longer so i really shouldn't complain . hope you and everyone is safe from Covid-19, and happy healing!
That's awesome. I just had this surgery a week ago. I have been doing a lot of limping for around 4.5 years due to the disfunction. I had a hip replacement and a knee replacement on the same right side 9 months apart. Hopefully this will work out well in the upcoming future. Keep up the great work and be well.
Congrats! Hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy. I can’t wait to go back to the rink when this virus has settled down. Taking this time at home to work on my strength training and flexibility.
So glad you are feeling better! Our season was killed early too. No recital for us. No first solo for me till December (just passed LTS 3 and working on LTS 4 dang cl crossovers LoL). No skating till August. Very bummed. I was really trying to work on holding backwards edges and really hope it won't feel like I'm starting over. :-(
Ugh, so frustrating. I am sorry to hear you missed out on your big first. When the rinks open back up, you will just have to work back to that point, maybe your first recital will be even better b
@@CoachJulia I'm hoping. I picked up some inline skates to help. But I really just need to work on being consistent with off ice exercise. I seriously suck at that. I'm the start/ stop exerciser and I have a hard time breaking the cycle.
@@CoachJulia Yes, indeed. I think every day with your "new chapter" is a day to be grateful for. I've actually gotten my MRI results back and its a similar ATFL tear and I'll need the same surgery as you... in 1 month.
How long will it take for me to walk again ? And living my life back to normal , my ankle got broken on 1 July ? Any tips , god bless you your videos are so good
I watched all your ankle videos is very good material. I have same problem now probably need surgery but i really woried this... How long take all proces to normal walking without pain ?
Thanks for sharing! Tomorrow I'll be 3 weeks post-op ankle ligament repair...I can't start PT or put any weight at all on the left leg until 6 weeks. If my foot is down for more than a few minutes, it's purple and swollen. How long did that last for you? I'm worried about going back to work and not being able to elevate it enough during the day. I'm working from home for now, but I'm scheduled to go back once I'm able to be on my feet again.
Aw so sad that you could get back out and got locked in again. No smooth rides from the universe but we're all staying productive one way or another. I love to see you with your students. I understand the parents need to give permission for them to be on RUclips but I would love to see more of you and your students.
Hey! yeah, it was a roller coaster for sure, excitement quickly turned to disappointment. But it’s ok, I can handle it. Hopefullt we will all be back out on the Ice soon.
Also can you please give me some tips on how to walk in the E-boot because i try to walk in it but i struggle because im not used to not bending my ankles while walking and i start stumbling
If your boot is the right size for your foot, it should have a good curve at the bottom. you’ve just got to get used to incorporating that curve into walking n
Thank you for the video. I am not a pro skater, just a recreational inline/ice skater who recently suffered a broken ankle and underwent surgery (syndesmosis). They only removed the cast a month ago and I am doing physical therapy primarily focusing on regaining ankle motion range (it seems I am very far off from getting back to skating). I was wondering, did your doctor?PT give you an estimate on when you will be able to get back to skating? I am sitting here wary I will not be able to get back to it, and wondering how to cope with that thought
Such a hard thing to go through. I to had some major fears that I would not be able to skate again. But I have been diligent with my physical therapy. it is possible that I will be able to skate again a month from now ( provided the rinks open back up). It won’t be all the jumping, but the Surgeon thinks Inwill be able to work back up to that. Keep your chin up, do everything your doctors say for recovery,, and you may be able to skate again.
Just cut my plaster 🩹 almost 4 weeks later. But can’t walk. And actually can’t put my feet properly on the floor. Don’t know why I feel like my leg is kind of short than my another leg. Is it normal thing? Or something is wrong
My experience was that my foot still hurt for quite some time after getting my cast off. I was extremely impatient with how my foot felt, but give it time. Now, I can do almost everything I could do before my injury.

Awe, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts! Definitely hoping to use this extended time at home well.

Thanks! Good for you for working at home! there is so much we can do to stay in shape, and even potentially improve our skating.
I'm very happy you're doing well! Good luck practising off-ice for a while... we're all stuck at home right now!
Thank you! This is definitely a good time to work on those Off-Ice moves!
Thank you so much for this series. I found myself here after a pretty bad ankle sprain on ice. How have you been doing ?
I really hope you are doing better and heal , can't wait to watch some on ice vids of yours again!!

I really can't say what is normal as I am not a medical professional. Sounds like maybe something to talk with your doctor about.
How's the swelling

Everything is closed in USA. Ice sheets are no exception. Are You fine Miss ?
I am doing well. Just trying to stay in shape for when I get to skate again. thanks for asking. 🙂

In hindsight, you really timed all of this quite well. Just a few months later, they would have deemed your ankle surgery non-essential.
Isn't that incredible? I am so grateful that I go my surgery done when I did.
Congratulations👧👍💖💌⚘🦋
Thank you 🤗
You just not expecting you will quarantine yourself again after come back from surgery.
You are so right! At least I am used to hanging out at home by now. 😆
Lol back at home huh lol
That was such a letdown. Lol.
