This video was recorded with the stock Tama heads. I have since then put Evans EC2S heads on the toms, Evans HD Dry on the snare, and Evans EMAD2 on the kick. I replaced the snare wires with Puresound P1220 12-inch 20-strand Custom Series Snare Wires. The combo sounds great.
Thanks! It really needs new heads as these are the stock ones but it's still a super fun kit to play. I take it all over the place since it takes up so little space.
Awesome playing! Did you add mufflers to the kick drum? I'm struggling to get the same punchy sound out of my pancake kick drum as you've managed to achieve. Any tips?
@@AgrimGanti sorry, I just saw your comment. There are no mufflers inside the kick. However, I am using an Evan’s Emad2 batter head which has some foam rings that act as external muffling. It is also tuned pretty loose. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks! The kit does wonderful live. I even used it when playing for an orchestra. I just ordered new Evan's heads all around and can't wait to try them out. EMAD2 for the kick, EC2s for the toms, and HD Dry Genera for the snare.
For $3, I bought “National Hardware 2.19 in. L X 1.38 in. D Brass Steel Closet Rod Socket Set” and bolted it through a small rug. This holds the kick drum in place. I have had the set for nearly 3 years and played many gigs with it. For the size and price, I think it sounds great. Without the rug setup I built, there is a ton of kick drum creep forwards
I am using heel toe. I learned it probably around 8 years ago watching RUclips videos. I believe Drumeo has a solid lesson on it. The pedal is a Tama Speed Cobra 310. I would consider it a long board. I appreciate your comment! Let me know if you have any other questions.
I bolted some pipe flanges through a rug that the bass drum spurs go into. Without that, it was basically unplayable with how much it slid forward. With the rug and flanges, it stays in place perfectly.
@@mathameline I have always been under the impression that the stock heads on a new drum set are not the highest of quality so many people change theirs pretty quick. However, I wasn't gigging with this kit yet and it sounded fine when just jamming out. I have some gigs this fall so I will be replacing the batter heads soon. I'll post a new video with them. I'm a fan of Evans heads which I will use all around.

youre playing, the kit, and the cymbals sound great.👍🍻
Yeah ! Damned sure sounds fine !!!
You have them tuned great! Nice playing too! Great job!

@@joshuasanders102 I think they sound fine. Toms are a touch loud in the mix, but has a cool 70s sound.
@@demonicsweaters I totally agree. I appreciate the comment

Awesome playing, and great choice of cymbals. I'm about to find out how this kit does with my band this weekend.

How did it go?
@@rock_SauFaCe worked out well. They need better heads for sure.
Sick drum beat👍
Thanks dude!
Straight fire
Sound killer
Thanks Ben!
On the fence about getting this kit, but the wobble on the bass drum is concerning. Is it always like that?

Yeeeaaaaaa
3 contra 4 👌
your double kick are perfect.. any tips to improve? are you doing heel-toe or sliding? long board? thx

A lefty playing on a right hand kit?
I’ve always played righty style. I can see why you would think I was a lefty though.
How loud is it would say, compared to a full size kit
The kick drum is definitely quieter but the toms and snare are similar in volume to a full size kit.
Nice playing. Bass drum looks a bit wobbly. Does it creep when played?

How long have you been playing for?
8 years. Not super consistently the whole time but I always enjoy jamming out!
would you like to sell this kit to me?
Got that thing loaded down with cymbals. By the way, which brand do you prefer? 😂
Great demo.
I appreciate it! Sabian is what I started with but I kind of like Meinl too. I'm more of a fan of bright sounding cymbals
So are head swaps planned ?
That bass drum seems in need of …
Yeah, these are all the stock heads so that is on my list of things to do eventually. I just purchased the kit this month.

@@joshuasanders102 so is it better to changer heads? What bass drums to buy for this kit?

@fartpoobox ohyeah thanks. I gig with the kit somewhat often now so I have replaced all the heads. The kick got the Evans Emad2 and I love it.
Cool drumming. The kit sound fat enoung tho.
Thanks!
