What a wonderful tape showing all the 2023 eaglets and brief video of their banding. There is hope seeing these beautiful animals starting their lives. Be well and enjoy your retirement Dr. Sharpe.. you and the team have certainly made an impact and change for the Bald Eagle population. May it continue in the same direction. 🙏❤️🦅
Some sassy chicks 😂 Love it. Thank you for sharing your work with us for so many years, Dr S. I hope you have a fantastic retirement. I imagine we’ll still see you here and there.
PLEASE don’t tell me he’s retiring☹️Great for him, sad for us😢Thank you SO much for all your time and energy all the years you dedicated to these wonderful birds and islands!❤
Four or five years ago I won a guided tour of the island with Dr. Sharpe. I can't tell you how sorry I am that I never made it down there!!! And now he is retiring, so I sure did miss my chance. Sigh ...
Thank you so much for all your hard work banding these chicks! Climbing in some spots looked impossible, but you did it...! Hope your replacement was trained by you Dr. Sharpe... take care & have a blessed retirement... we will miss you...
This video is an absolute gem! Such fantastic locations and endearing chicks! I also loved watching one of the adults in flight at about 17.32. Immense efforts and risks taken on the part of Dr Peter Sharpe - a truly unique person!
I would imagine around May - early June, well before the chicks learn to fly. For instance, the West End chicks were banded on 15 May, and the Two Harbors chick was banded on 27 May. We are talking this year, 2023 :)

Live long and prosper eaglets. Looks like 2023 was a good year. Thank you Sharpe and team for your important work!
Wishing the best to Dr. Sharpe as he begins the next phase of his retirement. But it will be a huge loss to the eagle community. ❤
@@COnative070 he’s been training his wonderful replacement this season. Looking forward to what she brings to the institute for wildlife studies 🥰
Thank you so much for all of the extra footage! I love getting to ‘meet’ all the eaglets, see the area and hear the parents!

@@Luceforall Thanks for the info. I'm glad that these majestic birds are thriving with or less human interactions
