I recently bought a set of 390 ZBTs srcond hand and i think they're great. 14" hats , 20 " ride and 18" crash , all for $160. Already had the 14" crash from a cheap drum kit i bought second hand. Very happy with the sounds they make. Just chasing the 16" crash now. Love ya work Zildjian 👍
I think these cymbals are great when mic'd and you're recording a demo or something. They aren't as good live. The best cymbal in this set he's playing is the 17' Crash on the right side. It's bright, crisp, and has a warm sound to it.
Mics make everything sound better for drums. No matter how good or bad the cymbals, a mic set up and a bit of audio engineering will make the whole drumkit sound good, or at least decent.
@@prodby1900 And this is why it's absolutely retarded that all these "demos" for cymbals have professional mic set ups. They're kinda assholes, really.
As far as I tried these, I gotta say they sound very good live, they cut trough everything very well. For studio recordings, they are a bit harsh and too high piched... But definitely good and quality cymbals for the price, and they get better with age, like all of the Zildjian cymbals do :)
Wow, I've never heard ZBT's that sound this good (must be added compression or just really damn good mics). In person, ZBT's are sub-par. I've had several entry level cymbals, and while the ZHT's sound pretty damn good for the money, the ZBT's are just awful. I'm guessing that they have a very low tin-to-copper ratio. Most of the cheaper cymbals just produce an unwanted sound that as soon as you hear say a K custom you immediately know that it's a good cymbal because it just sounds really good. I've had some B8's that don't sound too bad, and some cheaper Paiste's that were ok. I have some ZBT's that I'm selling right now, and hopefully replace them with some ZHT's or some A Zildjians.
Kris Michalsky They're good enough for me. I don't have the money for the better lines. And hey, most people can't tell the difference. Only us drummers really notice the differences in sound.
For sure they are processed through the recording.. and I've always thought the ZBT Hats sounded okay.. not for me, but out of the ZBT line, the hats and ride Bell are okay.. other than that.. casual listeners can definitely hear a difference between a nice dark K or even A custom and a clangy ZBT. plz.
Bought a ZBT 5 cymbals set for my son last year. In a way, sound were better than the kit set which came with the drum. However the set didn't last. First to go was the 18" crash, just under 4 months of use. Zildjian replace it with a new one. After that the 16" crash also crack, followed by the 14" hi-hat. Am considering either a Sabian or Istanbul for next buy.
Bento Bolton I admit, I was talking about the old model ZHTs, which my friend has. They sound absolutely horrible. The newer ZHTs sound a lot better. Though still not as good as XS20s, maybe close the PST5s.
Great cymbals. Sound totally awesome for a fair price. If you are a fan of high quality cymbal sound - you better be running to your local dealer to check those out! Got a set of them recently, check out on my channel ;) [18" China - total killer!]

That ride sounds much more expensive. Great work Zildjian. Bringing better quality sheet bronze in a budget range that can rival the top of the Swiss.
The crashes just sound like big splashes, ahaha.
Maybe the 14 cymbal does

The fact that he didn't show the 10 inch splash kinda frustrates me.
Not digging the crashes, but I like the sound of the hats and ride
I’ve had Zbt’s for two months. I know for sure they didn’t sound like these..

@@TheCalm25 Agreed!
Whorst? Or better?

The good thing about studio is you've got the mix that can tone any sound down to a pin drop. Nice Cymbals
Thank god it's discontinued.

Oh yeah not clean sound
Ill look in to doing one myself... I have both!
Either there is a ton of eq or these upgrade models sound better than the older versions I have.
nice and smooth!!
Out of all the Zildjian cymbals I've heard, I think these sound the best, very sharp crisp, responsive.
these must be the only zildjian cymbals you've heard...

Maybe he should learn how to play the cymbals correctly.
They do I have both and the news are quite a bit better, pretty much as good as the old ZXT's or on a good day almost up to zht level!
Why would anyone get Sabian B8's over this? They may be slightly cheaper (depending on where you get 'em) but these are so much better!
Hace poquito compre nuevo platos zildjian zbt 18''/45 crash suena re bien

Better than the B8s by a mile and better than the ZHTs. Not better than the PST5s or Xs20s though.
Better than ZHT series? Hell noo.

BW Drums ZHT's has been discontinued. I suggest check out the S-Series, it sounds way much better.
looks like they stepped up the quality of the zbys compared to the old ones
For a 19in crash it sounds too bright. My 18in Sabian B8 sounded darker than the 19in Zildjian ZBT

The zbt last song long after you hit. Like a hit in the ride will last 15 seconds
They really don't sound that bad...

I have the first series of ZBT and honestly they sound like shit. I'm changing them to A Custom or Sabian AAX :/
Tell me you never went back to ZBT's.. hehehe
Nice sounding cymbals...if only you could find a good drummer to display their sound better....
