Recent ISAS excavations in Brooklyn, Illinois, during the building of the new Mississippi River bridge, are revealing more about the past as the first majority-black town in the United States to incorporate.

My Grandmother grew up in Brooklyn and as a child, it was the longest trip I ever took. After we arrived we had to walk across a wood plank to get to the house from the car. I attended my first funeral in a house in Brooklyn, IL.
