  • It was busier than the Ramblas on market day out on the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup racecourse with all five teams fighting for prime positions and eager to spy the performance profile of each other - regardless of what they may say in interview afterwards. And it was a perfect spying day with a huge variety of breeze through the afternoon, starting at an un-sailable 5 knots and peaking at 19 knots by the close of play. Fascinating day in beautiful Barcelona.

    It would be REAL NICE for the video photographers to give us a new view for insight, like a drone of some photos from above. This could give us some intriguing viewpoints on how the boats are doing. Just saying, :)

      The teams have drones that they use strictly for just their boat. But are we saying news teams can't use drones or other flying craft?

    In America's Cup the faster boat wins, but the best sailors can make the difference as well. Last Cup Ineos and AM looked fantastic and LR looked okaish but then LR came out victorious not even having the faster boat, the faster boat was AM for sure but on a straight line only, their maneuverability and the way they sailed their boat was not so good in the end. You can try to guess as much as you want but I am sure that we are going to get some suprisises come August

    It's laughable how guys try not to say anything except what is obvious. Interview basically is interviewer telling what he has seen happening. Anything else is "Can't say" 😅

    • @giuseppeaccardo8580
      @giuseppeaccardo8580 3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah it's very annoying, every sailor sees the other boats sailing everyday but for some reason "it's very hard to tell" who's faster. The interviewer asks everytime but he knows already he's not gonna get any answer. Lame

      La stessa cosa che penso io.
      E probabilmente anche la scorsa volta senza l'incidente e la errata manovra di AM sarebbe andata nello stesso modo.
      AM aveva mostrato di non essere semplice da manovrare ma era comunque molto ma molto veloce quando navigava in linea retta.
      Probabilmente alla fine la maggior manovrabilità avrebbe comunque favorito LR ma sarebbe stata credo molto più dura che con gli inglesi..

      I think it will be closer than you think performance wise this is basically the third iteration of these boats if you take into account what they will have incorporated from the AC40s so advances in handling and speed will be incremental sailing ability
      reliability and more than your fair share of luck is going to be a big factor imo.

    It's too funny to read the comments of people who, just by watching some videos, have established the fastest boat, the most stable etc. 🤔
    The crews of the teams still don't know, "our" RUclips experts instead already know everything; why you're here? You should be working on board to tell what needs to be made, what needs to change. 😎😄

      No la finale sarà tra Alinghi e Luna Rossa dove quest'ultima gareggerà contro team New Zeland. American Magic ha potenzialità ma non scordiamo l'esperienza acquisita nell'ultima finale da Luna Rossa che la porta ad avere un margine superiore agli altri competitor.

      Già, penso sarà così purtroppo. Se LR non trova degli sviluppi ulteriori che possano migliorare la velocità e la stabilità sarà dura battere gli Americani. Ovviamente parlo di niente perchè non ho nessun dato oggettivo ma solo sensazioni.

      Have you watched those old races lately? Boring as fxck. If you didn't know - the tactics are exactly the same but much faster to occur, the only real difference is the covering angles are similar upwind and downwind, with the wind shadow more narrow and basically straight behind rather than old school 45° cover upwind, 270° downwind.
