Dalts stated in an interview not so long ago that it's 80% foils and 20% sails. The hulls were there to stop people falling in the water as they made only 1% difference. Day one race one shall reveal all I guess
They all look great in 20 knots of breeze. The real test will be if they get shifty low speed wind. Being able to foil and change direction in light winds could be key. Ineos will be praying for consistant, strong breezes, which is what they should expect in Barcelona in August and September, but a few days of fluky light winds could see them struggle. They seem to struggle to get up in light airs, but we shall see. Whatever comes along it's going to be epic sailing. Great video.
Great footage, zero coming out from main stream - Thank You!!. Music compilation on point, who would have thought, Metallica / Tupac on AC, perfect combo. On the racing, Ineos looks great upwind, NZ looks very slippery / lower downwind (shades of last AC).

100% both teams will not be showing their hands, and 1000% ETNZ will never do this ever again after many lessons learned in the past. That said, the ENTZ bow up attitude is interesting, not seen that before today, but even more so, the twist in the sail at 29.28 on ETNZ is insane. INEOS showing it too earlier in the video with a powerful mark rounding. These boats are going to be very special, they look a huge step on from the last cup despite looking outwardly similar.
very different assets on the water ETNZ appears to be more heeled to leeward this is probably not the foils but different arm angle... Less spray on the foils.. of etnz (this usually indicate less drag) the interesting part it's that this is not "the hauraki lake" ..
Spray is a good observation, that was my first thought too. Particularly spray vertical height, which in my head at least, contrary to drag makes me think ETNZ have a way of keeping more of the flow attached at the foil root.
They will be faster with a small windward heal. That seems to be their racing position. If there is a slight leeward heel I reckon they’re sandbagging on the heel….a slight windward heel gives them a little less drag/pressure on the foil…..
