Hey quick question, for the control portion , I see that the e93 cup holder is different from the e92 cup holder in the center, would this affect fitment ?
That little GPS speaker is there to continue giving you voice directions if you were to switch back into iDrive.
Does the idrive side respond to the touch screen or is it strictly for use on the Android side?

The speaker is so you can still hear the GPS guidance if you switch from the Android system back to BMW's system
could you give suggestions on why i connecting to carplay is always a hit or miss?? for me Carplay only works sometimes even though bluetooth is connected
Did you manage did find out what that speaker actually find out what that speakers for? Also I tried to use a reverse camera for my car but it doesn't seem to be working. Any idea why?

Does your apple car play resolution look really low, and jagged, with a super blue white balance? I have the same system, and installed it last night, and noticed the car link app creates a horrible image quality with Apple CarPlay.

Hi Installed it in my 2014 BMW 328i xdrive F30 NBT system. I didn't run that Aux cable from head unit to " Aux in" in center console. with audio input mode set to "Aux front" in idrive system, When i play music from carplay some times it plays ok and i hear music from car speakers, but some times when i press play music button in carplay the car FM radio starts playing.
I don't know why when i play music in carplay it is triggering radio FM to come on. what do you guys think problem is?. Not running that aux cable?

Does the screen adjust the brightness to the environment? I mean when it becomes dark outside, one doesn't want to manually set down the brightness of the screen every time.
There is an auto option. Goes off the cluster.
Should you not have just got the better version and upgraded it to android 14 or whatever the newest one was? It’s only software
Do you have access to the harmon kardon settings, surround on/off and eq while in the aftermarket software?
You can switch over to the OEM menu and adjust them if you'd like. There is also an equalizer via the android interface.
What works for a BMW 2018 X2?

Comes with everything you need. I've been using Xtrons for years, so I recommend it.
Can you get the new style 10.25" display for E90 with idrive? They make a 10 and a 12 that both sit right in the front of the idrive opening, and not way deep in the hole like the stock unit.

@@bmwdiyude LMFAO you’re just spitting a bunch of crap nobody honestly cares about. CIC is far superior to android units and CCC but not a lot of people want to pay for a CIC retrofit when it’s still old technology that is costly. And if anything, F10 has the best idrive design because it’s not deep dish like an old fat back TV (e60/e90) and it’s not just standing in the middle of the dashboard like a stupid iPad (F30)

Being in the US, and that the SIM cards don't work here, are you using it mostly for AndroidAuto/Carplay, or are you using the native apps on it?
I love the upgrade. Bigger and clearer screen, with access to everything you normally get on your smartphone like email, files and all the apps on the app store. I use android auto for maps all the time, and I use it to monitor my car's performance.

I had android auto for my f30 but after a year it kinda doesnt seem to work well anymore, just disconnects, and also disconnect when theres more heat so im looking for a replacement
@@decai6899 Yea, it's worked with any phone I've tried. I have an Pixel 7 XL. Head unit works perfectly 1 year later and recently upgraded to a bigger one which is on this RUclips channel as well

Sweet! We have plenty in stock.
One thing to remember is that even though your car/truck may have the "Premium" sound system which says Harmon Kardin or Bose etc. the speakers are the cheapest pieces of crap in the sound system. Do your selves a favour & replace the speakers for a good quality set & release the sounds that your vehicle was meant to have.
I swapped my OEM Toyota speakers for some Focal Flax Evo with a Focal iBUS 2.1 under seat sub. The car sounds a million times better than OEM.

My F30 330i has a stock backup camera on board, will this connect with the existing camera system and operate automatically when I am in reverse?

Hey great video! I wanted to do this upgrade on my 2013 F30 320d and I was wondering if I install this unit, it has Apple Carplay and Android Auto built in? Some other screen replacements required an additional Apple Carplay/Android Auto unit to be added but this doesn't require that?

I just installed this on my 2013 328i (F30). It was EASIER than expected. He’s right about re-connecting the wires to the new head unit - it was a b*tch (this took most time). Overall 1hr 15 mins from start to finish. Now just have to get used to the menus and customize. I’ll be using carplay

Did you run into an issue with accessing the original car menu? Everything is working on mine except when I try to go to the OEM menu, it diplays 'No Signal'. Cheers

You can always route the Xtrons mic the same way.

@@skater6678 having this issue too, for me there is sound if no aux is connected from the bmw bluetooth, radio, etc. it shows aux front but says "aux device is not connected or transfer of track information is not supported by the aux device."
