My name is Tommy, and when I was living in Branford I used to call up Ken's "Every Little Thing" show and make requests. Curiously enough, I share the same birthday with Brian Epstein, and I discovered a few since I stopped calling into his show. Ken liked to claim that he knew every (little?) thing about The Beatles, and associated with The Beatles, and he liked to feature trivia questions on his show. Did you know this, Ken? His name was Tommy, and he's still alive, and he may still be in Liverpool. He was managed by Brian Epstein, and Paul McCartney wrote his first record which flopped. Then John Lennon wrote a song for him. They went into the studio after having a few drinks and attempted to record it but it didn't work out. The Beatles themselves ended up recording it and it's now considered one of their classics. John was influenced by The Rays 'Silhouettes' in the writing of the song. Name that tune! Next: Though he was not managed by Brian, this Tommy toured with The Beatles and wrote a top ten hit on a guitar he borrowed from John Lennon. Name that tune! Last, but not least (imho); The Tommy who was managed by Brian Epstein recorded a song written by the other Tommy that was produced by Brian Epstein himself. Name that tune!

The answers are Tommy Quigley, "No Reply"; "Everybody" by Tommy Roe; "You Might As Well Forget Him", recorded by Tommy Quigley, written by Tommy Roe. Tommy Quigley is still alive, and he has NEVER GIVEN ANY INTERVIEWS. For some reason, he has never spoken about the couple of years he spent with Brian and The Beatles. Apparently, for some reason, he was traumatized and emotionally damaged by the experience. That would be a major coup for you, Ken, to somehow get Tommy to tell his story. As for me, I think your radio shows are still fine. I stopped calling in because, well-as the song goes, there were no more words on the tip of my tongue! (ha, ha).

@@romanticandperky First of all. I only now just saw your trivia and wanted to answer but you beat me to it. Second, my radio show is in syndication, and it's all pre-recorded, but you can listen on demand on the archival page for WFDU (see link!) And finally how did you get your YT name romantic and perky--is it from the song Pachalafaka, recorded by Soupy Sales? www.wfdu.fm/hd1/archives

@@kenmichaelsradio748 Thanks for the reply. I think you used to broadcast from Sacred Heart U. in Connecticut, and had live call in. I remember calling into your show one evening, and then calling my old girlfriend and asking her if she ever met Paul McCartney (she was sort of a rock groupie when she was young); and she said-'yes'. She was at world premiere of 'Help' in London in 1965, where she had brief encounter with Sir Paul as he arriving for the show. I remember requesting-"I've Just Seen A Face"-from you that evening. Then there's my earliest and dearest childhood friend, Jonathan. Back in the day, he used to work for Billy Idol, and one evening they found themselves at a radio interview in California with Sir Paul, who was promoting his 'Run, Devil, Run' album at the time; and they were making noise, and Sir Paul had to shush them. One of the last times I saw Jonathan and he told me that story (and I'm sure it's true), I said to him: "Gee, Jon, I wonder how many times Sir Paul had to shush John Lennon. (smile).

@@romanticandperky My weekly Beatles radio show, Every Little Thing, used to be on WNHU (New Haven University) as a live broadcast Wednesday nights for about 6 years until Covid hit. I didn't take live call-ins on the air, but played requests sent me phone, e-mail or on Facebook.

@@kenmichaelsradio748 Oh, Lord, that's strange, Ken; because I distinctly remember calling several times while the show was on the air and talking to you. As a kid, I spent 12 years living in the same town as Linda Blair (Westport, Ct.). My brother used to go over to her house and give guitar lessons to her older sister. It was at that time that I heard this for the first time: The Beatles' version of 'Devil In Her Heart'. Who was also living in Westport at the time was Rod Serling. "You are now entering a new dimension of time and space". Gee, Ken, I could of swore you were broadcasting live from Sacred Heart! Btw, Tommy Quigley was also the inspiration for the 'Dirk McQuigley' character from 'The Rutles'. Ken, do you remember 'A Girl Like You': "Shoot me down in flames if I should tell a lie; cross my heart I promise that it's true...".
