@@BloatedPizzaRolls Ok! Let's review! Hector: He is an adolescent teenage boy. He is a blue tall boy with fluffy messy purple hair and some pimples on his face. He wears plain denim jeans and wears a red and white shirt, with some sneakers. He's chill, cool, and supportive, even around others. Sunday: A peace-loving flowerchild who is Hector's girlfriend. She is a pink skinned teenage girl with green hair. She wears a red headband, tan shirt, orange shorts, gold bracelet, rings on each finger and yellow cowboy boots with flowers. She enjoys vibing to music, drum circles, caking herself in mud, and even "getting it on" with the males. Lupita: Hector's little sister. She is a young, light blue-skinned girl with dark purple hair. She wears lavender hair clips, a bandage on her right elbow, a gray tank top, a green vest with pockets, blue jeans, and gray boots. She's imaginative, eccentric, creative, and rambunctious for her age. She even like hippies and would like to be one, however, she has a lot left to learn if she wants to be like a hippie. Cajun Fox: An orange fox who wears sunglasses. He talks in a laid-back tone, which, to compliment that fact, matches his hippie personality. However, he can be a bit of a psycho, as he is cunning, sly, and mischievous. Dr. Vindaloo: He's a doctor (or what he appears to be) from India. Everything about him is presumed to be a bit complicated for some: Personality: Dr. Vindaloo's medical skills are lack luster and his powers of observation are arguably worse. Often, he passes off easily identifiable malignant conditions as being of no concern with the refrain: "It's nothing to worry about, nothing at all, [but] there is nothing I can do [at all]." and usually recommends his patients to "just keep soaking it" as a universal remedy. The reason why he acts like this is because he's actually a "new-age retro hippie" with a laid-back persona, who visions of women, psychedelic insects (moths and butterflies, for example), fairies (most notably "Muriel fairies"), and what he likes to call "the wonderfully wacky world of eroticness". Evidently, Dr. Vindaloo can be bribed with a high enough sum of money, as he is willing to bypass doctor-patient confidentiality in "Bad Hair Day". He has an odd habit of plucking or shaving hair from areas of his body (other odd habits of his include digging into his navel, clipping his nails, choking his chicken (which is slang for... well... you know what I mean), the joys of consuming psychedelic drugs, etc.). Appearance: While most people view him in his normal looks and attire, here's what Dr. Vindaloo looked like in the 60s: he had long hair that went up to shoulder length (which went with a tye-dyed headband), round sunglasses (that he sometimes puts on when he sleeps), a short sleeve button down shirt colored green that went with an orange-colored leather fringed vest, and bellbottom jeans. Sometimes, his hippie self is seen in his hallucinations, and on most occasions, he's seen wearing his hippie clothes at home or in other places. Funny Fun Facts and Totally Cool Trivia: Did you know that Dr. Vindaloo is referred to as "M.D. Quack", meaning, "quack doctor"? This word means an unqualified practitioner or someone impersonating as a doctor. In other words, Dr. Vindaloo 's medical advice, skills, and duties may be signs of malpractice, presumably implying he is indeed a hippie! Fact 1: The Hidden Hippie: Judging by what we learned so far, Dr. Vindaloo, the supposed doctor, is nothing more than a hippie at heart with many desires! What are those desires, you may ask? Desires for all things freaky and groovy! Unfortunately, he never mentioned this to the Bagge family (and even Courage for that matter)! Why is that? Who knows! Maybe it's because he didn't want anyone to find out his unconventional lifestyle, or mainly maintain an air or mystique! Fact 2: Hallucinatory Escapes: Oh boy! Do I have to explain this second fact! Dr. Vindaloo just loves it when his wet and wild dreams, fantasies, visions, and hallucinations lead him far away from that of the mundane life, or, as we hippies call it, "the modern society"! Why is that? Maybe due to how he found solace in the kaleidoscope of his very mind! That is the part where all of our wildest fantasies come true! But wait! What does he fantasize about, you ask? Well, here it is: One, beautiful hippie ladies! What kind, you may ask? Those with beautiful bodies and ripe melons, which, if you don't know, is slang for large breasts! And I gotta tell you, when it came to the 60s, it was all about free loving! And that's where Dr. Vindaloo always came in! Two, insects! Especially moths and butterflies! Why? First of all, they're colorful! Second, they fly! And lastly, moths are a hippie's favorite! Three, "the wonderfully wacky world of 'eroticness'"! Remember when I said how the 60s was about free loving? Well, 'eroticness' is just the same as that! Four, fairies! Why this, you may ask? Because they're just the perfect fit for a hippie! And this is presumably the reason why Dr. Vindaloo made his final debut in "Wrath of the Librarian"! His "promise" to meet Muriel in Fairyland was an excuse so he could let his hallucinations take him to places beyond the "modern society"! Did it work, you may ask? YES! A real "psychedelic getaway" if you ask me! Fact 3: Woodstock Revisited: Ah, Woodstock, 1969! A festival where peace, love, and music mix together like Cajun Fox's Granny Stew! Was it awesome? Yes! Believe me! Endless days and nights of 1960s counterculture! A lotta music, a lotta drugs, and a lotta free lovin'! BELIVE ME! A WHOLE LOTTA FREE LOVIN'! And there were once-in-a-lifetime psychedelic performers like The Doors, The Beatles, and legendary superstar of the 60s, Jimi Hendrix! And I gotta say, Dr. Vindaloo's acid-filled adventures must've been the wild trip for him! Why, he and his fellow hippie friends the Freaksters (which consist of Hector, Sunday, Lupita, and Cajun Fox) could do anything! Mud caking, music vibing, drum circling, free loving, the possibilities are ENDLESS! Fact 4: The Unmasking: Now, you might be wondering, "What will happen if Dr. Vindaloo ever comes back? Will he show his true identity to the Bagge family?" I mean, who knows if Dr. Vindaloo will ever come back? Who knows if his true identity will be revealed? Besides, there's a rule with having secret personalities! Sometimes you have to peel back your outside exterior to reveal your secret identities, either good or bad! Anyway, enough of that! Like I said, who knows if Dr. Vindaloo will ever come back? No one knows, including me! But I do know one thing! If Dr. Vindaloo ever comes back, he'll show his true identity! A flowerchild! But not an ordinary flowerchild, but a peace-loving, music vibing, mud caking, drum circling, free loving flowerchild who goes on hallucinogenic journey far away from the "modern society"!
A masterpiece ,ethereal mystical atmosphere, complex terrific vocal arrangements ala Alessandroni/ Nora Orlandi ,this group were the epitome of PSYCH POP....MONSTER status!!
The Free Design was amazing. They're like a mixture of The Cowsills, Peter, Paul and Mary, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross and The Swingle Singers! Squeeze THAT into your brain! LOL
Incredible band. The best band of the 60s along with the Velvet Underground. Completely different genres and styles, same genius. Certainly head and shoulders above the other "sunshine pop" bands.
The Dedrick family’s little brother “Jason” (nicknamed “Woody”) is who this song is about... that’s what they were in the middle of telling Mike Douglas at the beginning of this vid :)
This is great! Tell us all about this band, never heard of them before. Who was the woman singer, is she playing or singing now at all? Post up about it. Thanks.
tremendous sound to their body of work, but it's not as large as we would have wanted.....I have a friend now in my older days who thanks me for turning her on to FreeDesign.....but growing up, I'm the only one who followed them, as they were not considered cool to listen to... Chris had a great feel for hook and harmony, and his arrangements of songs made those songs sound like they were theirs to begin with.....
+tyknos93 There were quite a few from that era. The most obvious being groups like The Mamas and Papas, Spanky and Our Gang, The 5th Dimension, Peter Paul and Mary, The Brothers Four, Chad and Jeremy and The Vogues. For even more sophisticated harmonies....i would recommend groups like The Anita Kerr Singers, The Ray Conniff Singers and The New Christy Minstrels. Lots of great harmony bands from the 60's.
Very talented musical family band. They would have been much more popular if they had a more catchy name for their band and a certain look by changing their costumes into more colorful attire characteristics attire that reflects what they are singing about. What I see is bland and the name of the band is bland that is why they did not make it big. If they explored more adventurous tones in their music with more dramatic storytelling and sound effects it would have made more of a difference.

Erano molto più complessi gli intrecci vocali dei Free Design rispetto a quelli dei Cantori Moderni. Comunque Alessandroni & Co. erano fantastici
Linda, maravilhosa canção.Assim como toda obra deles.Parabens a esses legítimos artistas q faz até hoje a trilha sonora da minha vida!
God, this goes so hard! They are ripping to make the gentlest, silliest, light-hearted music in the world. lol
The Free Design was amazing. They're like a mixture of The Cowsills, Peter, Paul and Mary, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross and The Swingle Singers!
Squeeze THAT into your brain! LOL
I totally heard the lambert, Hendricks, and Ross too.
Clearly the same drummer who appears on the album. The same light, delicate but intricate drum strokes which never overwhelm the Dedricks.
good old Mike Douglas .....live from philly every afternoon in my youth!
No auto-tune here, just pure talent.
Incredible band. The best band of the 60s along with the Velvet Underground. Completely different genres and styles, same genius. Certainly head and shoulders above the other "sunshine pop" bands.
They love those Major 7 chords.
The greatest sunshine band imaginable. Almost too brilliant to be a huge success.
The Dedrick family’s little brother “Jason” (nicknamed “Woody”) is who this song is about... that’s what they were in the middle of telling Mike Douglas at the beginning of this vid :)
thanks a lot for this video...
You're a good man. Thank You
Amazing footage, thx!
Werewolves Within bought me here.😊🎵🎶🎵🤩
Music to soothe my virgin ears!
Love free design
Sunshine !!!! Great !!!!
WOOOW!
amazing - thanks
awesome!
This is great! Tell us all about this band, never heard of them before. Who was the woman singer, is she playing or singing now at all? Post up about it. Thanks.
The Mike Douglas Show.
I had a dream once and this band was playing an amazing song but the song doesn't exist
That's kind of how most of their songs sound. Too good to be true.
It does now
Another branch of the Curt Boettecher/ John Philips/Carl Oglesby tree, and a mighty one.
tremendous sound to their body of work, but it's not as large as we would have wanted.....I have a friend now in my older days who thanks me for turning her on to FreeDesign.....but growing up, I'm the only one who followed them, as they were not considered cool to listen to... Chris had a great feel for hook and harmony, and his arrangements of songs made those songs sound like they were theirs to begin with.....
i like flying...kites are fun,kites are dun,kites are fun!!
I've been waiting to see lip-synced footage of The Free Design for years. Please post more.
so good. more pls?
Sampling keeps music alive
I wonder what Woody looks like today?
Go Browns!
Great song, but sadly this isn't a real live performance :/ It's just the album version.
Mike Douglas show!!! Cleveland..
But he made his name in Philly!
Sandy looks almost exactly like Sharon Horgan here.
this is 2020 and didn’t fucking discover these people since my life hasn’t been more complete
Freddy Joachim handled this pretty well.
dbcooprrr what song did he sample this into?
+Xavier OnEarth My brother woody-freddy joachim remix
What ate they doing now?
one brother died in vietnam; that killed the group
This song is about child abuse! "He couldn't help not to get spanked!" 1:46
Jamie Ostrowski not true
"be good enough not to get spanked"
May be you need to be spanked
"Ooh, spanking. That's hot."
--Alternative Universe Mary Cooper; Young Sheldon 4x17
They play and sing well, but where's the song? Underdeveloped lyrics
They had good harmonies....but their songs were a bit weak compared to the other hippy harmony bands from that era.
+atomic3939 Oh what other bands do you recommend like this? I'm really partial to this sound for some reason...
+atomic3939 This isn't one of the most impressive songs on this album, but there are some quite impressive ones. Check out the whole album.
You put in words the feeling I have about sunshine pop music. Thank you
Without wanting to get into a typical RUclips 'your mama' style argument, I totally disagree that their songs were weak.
Wheres the bass player?. Epic lines
i love this track
