I needed to practice Koryo 2 and the sidekicks where what I was having a hard time with and even after doing one drill once it helped. I felt it in the kick.

You see. My problem is lacking flexibility. I left taekwondo like 2 years ago. Due to surgery and since then all my flexibility has gone down the drain. 😢
What are the major muscles involved in raising the kicking leg? The glutes and hip adductors? I just know that the hip flexor flexibility can keep the kicking leg down

These videos always make me laugh a bit. 19 year old girls giving the same drills everyone in Taekwondo practice. She might as well have called this video “Improve flexibility by being 19 again.” As for doing a side kick, if you want to learn to do a proper side kick, I would not recommend this video as it doesn’t teach weight distribution or power. ruclips.net/video/9pbW94BuiPI/видео.html

I practice a different discipline too, but there is no better kickers than Taekwondo kickers hands down. Samery is lethal.
