- Do you take one look at a cluttered space and find yourself too paralyzed and overwhelmed to even start decluttering your home? Even professional organizers can't remove 100% of any mess in one sitting. It's time to start being gentle with yourself and your cleaning goals.
When you don't get rid of something, and then wish you had, it sets you up for organization success.
In this video, from her ADDitude webinar titled "Everything in Its Place: The ADHD Guide to Better Organization," Lisa Woodruff, explains how to start small to get more done.

Wow this is strangely accurate
A lot of people go around picking out things to get rid of. I did the opposite. I walked around each room and picked out things I wanted to keep, as if I were moving. What was left, I got rid of. On the side I had another container of necessities, like things I use everyday, that way it was easy to find when I needed it while I was processing everything else.
A book by Marie Kondo got me doing this exact thing, she talked about keeping what sparks joy, so I did just that. Slowly but surely i began to get rid of more and more without really noticing. Im much happier with the space i have nowadays!
The 'laundry room' so that translates to the piles of laundry in every room of the house!
Yes, we want a finished product. 10-20% is a worthy goal. I try and focus on 1m2 and 1 thing at a time. I try to use Spotify and exciting metacognitive self-help to make task more tolerable and build success. Keeping mood up. Fearing if I go to loo, i will lose "drive" but I got it back (clearing out my closet) Know how nic3 you fill feel. I count things I let go of e.g.
5 undies, 5 bras, 15kg of clothes washed ready for opshop. Keep focussing on the big pic and know what you do now IS GETTING YOU THERE! 😘👍💕KEEP GOING
