Grease should only be used when towing on sealed roads for short distances. For longer distances and unsealed roads, motor oil should be used as grease can become a grinding paste when congealed with dust resulting in premature wear.
Ron is there anything you can't do??? Normally I'm used to seeing you do home improvement/woodworking videos, haha. Something I learned the hard way a long time ago was make sure you put grease/anti-seize on the draw bar unless you want to replace your whole hitch.....unfortunately I never learn- I just tow my boat and got lazy this season, so now I get to try to use my air hammer to push it out, haha.
When check tire pressure make sure to check the trailer tires. I witnessed a low pressure trailer tire blow out at high speed. Lucky for the driver the camper he was hauling swung out wide and clipped a guard rail and send the truck into a spin where it came to a safe stop before it hit a bridge. The camper was destroyed, but the driver was unhurt and the truck was undamaged. Very terrifying to watch. I have towed everything from a 8 ft flat bed utility traier up to a 35 ft. travel trailer tens of thousands of miles and this video is spot on.
"...good idea to have someone behind the trailer to provide directions..." Call / use cell phones on speaker for driver and spotter. Hellen Keller hand signals and screaming ( " THE OTHER WAY !" ) are outdated and inefficient ...
Thank you! The grease on the ball makes a lot of sense and the hand a 6:00 sounds good. Gonna try asap.
Bought my first truck this year.. Definitely appreciate this video..
That’s great advice!!! Trailer goes in the direction of ur hand in the 6 position. That’s such an easy way to teach someone something.
Hopefully this is around in a few hundred years , what a great guy
Simple, thorough and to the point 👍🏼
Thanks. I'm moving today and will attach a 12 ft box to my Suburban for the first time. Video was helpful
Great videos boss, that’s help understanding the theory of how to drive a truck with trailer.
As a seasoned vet this is good info

I might get a job requiring me to haul pumps in midessa area and I'm nervous 😂.
Thank you and wish me a great 2025 year 😊
I have a 2015 sierra 1500 5.3. Do I automatically put on tow mode as soon as I tow?
Absolutely.

Is there a trailer size you'd recommend for a newbie to practice with?
A humble 4 incher would be best for a newbie
half of that dirt in the start of the video is just being dumped in the truck is just going on the ground lol
You forgot a pin on your trailer hitch lever 😮
Here's an easy simple tip.I don't care what you're pulling.Stay in the right lane!!!!!
A towing truck or suv makes me feel manly af
I don’t know why but I find it kind of hilarious that I’ll be using the exact same pickup as the one he’s using as example in the vidoe😂

Nice tips. Can I share the gospel of Jesus Christ with you?
