Great work mate. I started a mini in November started at the inner wing. You’ve given me the inspiration to get out in the cold tomorrow and crack on
Thanks buddy, glad our video series has helped you out. All the best on your build. Any questions fire away
Absolutely fantastic my friend. Happy Memories of my Bronze Yellow Mini Clubman EMB 360K from 1977.

Great video. Soooo much labour. Its almost daunting. Excellent work, truly
Thank you. It was a lot of work but very rewarding 👍
A privilege to watch a magician at work. Incredible skill, patience, diligence and precision. Cap doffed Sir.
Thanks buddy for those words and supporting the channel 👍
Always have wanted to restore a mini the search continues and always saving for that Leyland build. Thanks for the inspiration
No worries buddy I hope one day you get the chance to do your own build, thanks for watching 👍
Fantastic video.
Thank you 👍
Its only when you watch it condensed down like this that you recall just how much hard work went into that car. Financially it was for nothing but physically it was defintely draining.
Yeah it was a little emotional making this video and seeing just how much has happened over the last year or so and joe much work has gone into this car. Thanks for supporting us throughout 👍
@@SimpsonsClassics Yeah I keep saying this is my car but to be honest I'm being an arse because I could never offer enough money to justify the hours of toil and effort thats gone into it. It's been well worth the effort though because its a gorgeous example of the Mini Clubman.
Going back to some of the older vids. This was an awesome project. 👍
Thanks buddy I absolutely loved doing doing this project.
Great video! All action and no pointless waffle about your trip to the shops etc like most ‘tubers do!! You’ve inspired me with confidence to tackle my body repairs myself thanks mate 👍🏻😊
Hey thanks I am glad you have enjoyed the video. Check out our other playlists also. I am so glad I have inspired you to do your own car this was the main aim of the series. All the best 👍
Wow, just wow 👍🏻
You should be very proud. What a great job you have done I love it.
Cheers for that buddy 👍
Satisfying video that really shows well the amount of hard quality work that went into making this classic a true beauty.
Thanks man it’s definitely changed over the last year or so.
A great job, a lot of skill and hard work has gone into bringing this mini bs k to life. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers buddy thanks for supporting the build we are glad you have enjoyed it. 👍

Tuned in from south africa, great job... Im not no mechanic nor pannel beater but I'm working on a vanigon here we call it a microbus/Caravelle totally learning as I go first build and would like a mini to be number 2
Thanks for that, it sounds like you have a great project to. I hope that one day you can get a mini. All the best 👍
Incredible Nicely done it looks brilliant
Cheers thanks buddy 👍
Gwon son 👍🏼
What a beautiful job
Thanks buddy
What a great vid mate! I've watched all episodes & know with still doing mine what effort & unseen on videos the man hours you put in! 👍👍
Hey thanks buddy for that, and for following along with the build. It’s definitely worth while that’s for sure 👍
Love it! Good job 👏
Thanks buddy 👍
wow!
Awesome job man!! Great videos😃👍
Awesome thanks dude 👍
Top down classic beat!
Awesome work. In South Africa, this would cost atleast £5000.
Thank you over there just paint can cost 3k
Amazing work, you should be very proud of yourself. The panels alone for my shell came to around £900 and that was using mainly m-machine when you're mostly stuck with Heritage for a clubby! Any idea how many hours you spent on the welding?
Cheers thanks buddy for that. Yes for what we have spent and what we have got out of it yes it’s been a mad journey. I can’t narrow down just the welding time but the overall time of the cars she’ll work was 248 hours all in over about 10-11 months
A lot of hard work gone in there! Are you going to keep it? If not would be cool to raffle it off
Yes we did think about a raffle to be fair but time will tell with plans of the car we are always on with some sort of project 👍
My first car was an 1100 clubman, wish I could find her EMS 618S if you know her, she was originally Olive green.
Oh sounds a lovely car. Maybe one day you can find her again.
What type of paint did you use 1K 2K ? came out well. What would the factory have used back in the day? were they still using Cellulous paint then
Thanks buddy I used a 2k direct gloss paint. Was really happy with it for sure. Yes they would have used cellulous back in the day. Cheers for watching 👍
Amazing!!!..GN
Thank you 👍
You’ve probably answered it it in other vids but what is the yellow paint, presumably a primer or anti rust? If primer epoxy?
The finished colour? It’s called bronze yellow it’s a old bmc colour.
Hi mate, been watching the Chanel, can you tell what the black spray on textured paint you used for the inside floor pan? ( black )
Hey thanks for supporting the channel, its Upol graveitex Stone chip paint.
Great work. What is the thickness of the sheet metal you use for the patch panels?
Cheers thanks 1.5mm in general 👍
Gwon son
Where did you get the paint from? Both rattle can and spray gun?
I got the paint mixed at my local paint shop. Stone chip is off ebay, made by upol. Spray gun is a devilbiss finishline
👍👍👍
Cheers
What spot welder are you using.?
Hey it’s a old SIP one don’t think they make it now.
Great video, how thick was your silent coat?cheers
Cheers thanks mate, it was the 2mm stuff 👍
Hey Marc, you mentioned in one of your vids that you use a DeVilbiss finishline FLG5 spray gun. I was wondering what size jet you use. They seem to sell these guns with a variety of options including 1.3mm, 1.4mm, 1.6mm and 1.8mm etc. Would appreciate your wisdom on this.
Hey yes that’s the gun I have and it has a 1.4mm jet in. I hope this helps 👍
@@SimpsonsClassics Helps a lot. Exactly the info I needed. The car is brilliant. Now I’m watching all the other builds. Keep up the great work...!
@@tonyknight811 no worries, cheers thanks for that. We will be back on with the mpi and 89 hopefully very soon. Watch this space. Cheers 👍
👍🏻👌🏼
Do you need to wear a respirator for welding.
Some masks come with them I have never worn one while welding. Right or wrong but it’s been fine it’s not such an issue welding outside.
Did you go on a course for spraying.
No just did some research and went for it.
Mini’s never rust! They just revert to their natural organic state...
Haha this is a great way to look at it 👍
You know somebody who can restore your eyes?
?
Don’t care what you say .... you are wasted in your current top role .
Cheers Phil that really does mean a lot. I have to admit watching this through got me thinking 🤔
How many years did you waste as a civil servant? 🤦♂️🤦♂️ top quality
Thanks mate I appreciate that.. secret skills aha
Guarantee it will rust again within 2-3 years, but good effort
The fact it’s over 3 years later and it hasn’t means I did something right. Thanks for the confidence 👍
I delivered thousands and thousands of these new from the factory , as the years went bye the quality got worse (it never was good to start with , but it declined ) just before production e did, a huge order came in from Japan, it kept me busy taking them to Portbury docks , the metal was so thin that the body creaked when they were moving , ....terrible that they got away building these for so long
The quality definitely got worse the later in production they got. But the fun part about restoring them is you can right those wrongs. Thanks for watching 👍
